It's gotten so bad that new players can't even get into the grove of things and have fun. When I started back in '07, it was different. The home page had the whole 'best avi of the day' thing and advertised threads and games we could play. It wasn't necessary for us to spend our real money. We were kids. I only bought a few cash items just so I could look unique and cool and get compliments. Now theres no way to be unique. The homepage is urging you to spend money. Everyone is questing the same overpriced items. See the thing with questing was that at least a few years ago it was realistic. Now it is nearly impossible. Ads are everywhere. Isn't that enough money, Gaia? 50$ for a recolor with 4 poses? No thank you. Nothing is original anymore. It doesn't feel special anymore. The magic of Gaia is gone.

I've been back and forth all day today and I've had at least 5 announcements, all of them Cash Shop. I'm getting REALLY sick of this. I am ok with 1 announcement, maybe 2 or 3 spread over a day or two, but 5 ads in one day? I had 4 yesterday too advertising cash shop stuff!

Enough of enough! Seriously it's ridiculous!

Edit - Make that 6 announcements in one day advertising cash shop stuff! Putting more stuff out there isn't going to make me more inclined to buy your crap Gaia! Not even robot stuff would open my wallet, I'd just buy it with all this gold I've been getting from posting against your cash pushing!

It's because the items aren't costing anything to be made and gaia's money grubbing CEO thinks it's okay to get something for nothing. It's much worse than what we are currently experiencing. Gaia is trying to suck up as much money from their users as possible before the reality that they have nothing left to offer us sets in. Another truth of the matter and I'm sure Fullmetal Alchemist makes a great point with this, is that in order for something to be obtained something of equal value must be lost. And because, they are taking more and more and using up more resources to push poor quality on all of us as if we where cattle their livestock, "us" will metaphorically die and they will have no more revenue. I'm not saying we should buy their crap, I'm just saying that it is out of our hands and it is only a matter of time before we login one day to see, that dreadful 404.

I get all that, I'm just sick and fragging tired of getting announcement after announcement after announcement. It's like a Big Issue seller going from delightfully offering the magazine to being on his knees scratching at peoples trouser legs being all "PLEASE I BEG OF YOU JUST BUY IT".

With the whole equivalent exchange thing though, it feels like they've sacrificed their community for money. It feels like they're sacrificing everything for money. Most of the crew I knew have quit or have been laid off, games are still broken with no fix in sight, it'll only be a matter of time before they make guilds a cash installment to use or make.

If the site is going to die they should let it go in a blaze of glory, not drowned under its own announcements. When the site does go (and it will, at some point), I want to remember it for the good things, the friends I made and still speak to (off site because none of my friends come on here anymore, heck I hardly come on here anymore), the fun I had with the events. I don't want to remember it as a flood of announcements begging for money.

I never really agreed with this forum because GC is my only source of income in gaia for over 4 years. But club verge extremely ticked me off sense when it came out I spend 90$ that month and since it wasn't 100$ I didn't membership. Secondly the limited availability items is an outrage the ones that can only be sold in only about 1,000 to be given out. All it really says s if you have money and waste it now you can get what you want.

why even call them announcements anymore? announcements indicts that your about t be told something important, like a new game being added or removed from the site. These so called 'announcements' are just ads disguised as announcements. Case all they ever say is 'BUY IT NOW, WHILE IT STILL STUPID!' that is an ad not a announcements and I am sick to death of getting announcements ADS

gaia just went from being awsome to being the lowest of the low , so much has changed but not as for the best but for the worst this site had a future now it has its own count down . eventually ppl well get tired of this site and move on. i had friends from way back when it started and now they dont even get on anymore since whats been going on am not happy either about cs or anything thats going on atm . i just wish gaia would just take responsible sorry for my grammer . but set things right and tell us how it is , instead of keeping us in the dark and now with the flip the coin its just so stupid . all ur getting is recylced or worthless items . they may be rare and all but honestly its money that is useless. even to play on the servers it gotten worst . over time it just lost its respect from its community gaiaonline soon R.I.P. only a matter of time.

I'm getting tired of the 4+ announcements a day for a cash shop I never purchase in. If they want to monetize the site then they can do so, but I'd prefer it if they the following:

1. Let me turn OFF the announcements of the site as they are not important to me and have no impact on me whatsoever.

OR

2. Find a less invasive way of announcing this stuff - I don't care if the front flash animation/ad is covered in GC marketing and advertisements, or you're sending out newsletter emails to people who have subscribed to said newsletter... just don't do it in my announcement inbox.


u_u Announcements should be reserved for critical site information at this rate, if the site is going down for maintenance or we're getting a layout change etc, then that's stuff I want to read about. I don't want to read about the gajillionth recolour of yet another item...

Well, the site is still up. I don't know if this is a good thing or not.
On one hand I'd like to not lose all of the money/time I've put in this site. On the other, I'd like it to crash and burn, with the CEO & everyone that agrees with him in it.
