here a slap to the face for anyone, I started questing for big back wings the second they came out. AS DID MANY! I got no were with the nightmare of Alchemy, lost 4,000,000 gold just trying to get to level 2, Then I tried saving up and trading....fail. SO when I saw you could buy them I was like finally.....LIES no way in hell would I spend 260 dollars on pixels. That when I saw it the inflation of everything else and the decline in price of wings. I sold 60% of everything I had scene the day I signed on and gave up my yeti (which I miss) but damn it I did it.....My point? Something that was so hard to get, cost me almost everything. I finally got and can tell you. DON'T spend 260 dollars on it, it is just pixels as kick butt as they are. It is not worth real money

GAIA WILL CLOSE IF NOBODY BUY GCASH , THINK ABOUT IT -.- ...

It won't necessarily close, it'll just have a small lack of funding, they will still get money by allowing other things to put advertisements on their sites, so i don't really see the problem. Pay like however much it was with Flynn to have a shot at 10mil, maybe 500mil gold? That's honestly bullshit. They were devaluing the gold us users who have been on the site longer then a few years worked so hard to get now that there are more users from sites like "Tinierme", they're capitalizing on the situation, which in all honesty, is terribly wrong, they're making older users' items raise up in price, yes, but they're also making other items that shouldn't be that price to begin with go WAY up. Take the item Red Wing for example. Before the Flynnflation, it was simply 130k, and a while ago, it was 2mil, now it's back down to 630k. Another perfect example is the Fall 2012 Men's and Women's collections. They were both roughly 400k i believe, then the Flynnflation started and Fall 2012 Men's collection is roughly 3.4mil, and Fall 2012 Women's collection is roughly 4.6mil.

One of my friends is questing some back wings right now, and he's lost nearly 16,000,000 in Alchemy just because of 1 item, he posted something about it in the site feedback because every time he tried it, it failed no matter what. So sometimes alchemy is not always the best solution, which, if i may point out, is BULLSHIT...

Basically Gaia said "Oh hey new users, you got money to spend right? HERE! SPEND IT ON THIS! Then they flaunt Flynn around and new users get the gold, and then new users buy all the items they want. Older users like me, who've been around for about 3-4 years, we didn't get this treatment, no one else ever got this treatment, so why is Gaia treating these newer users like this? They're making most of the older users get fed up with Gaia's behavior, and leaving the site because of it, going to sites like IMVU, and they are trying to get the newer users to stay, even though they probably will even if they didn't release Flynn at all...

I don't want Gaia to die. I understand the idea that it is a bussiness. Workers, managers, CEO's, even the janitors, all need to be paid their dues for all the hard work they do in creating this one of a kind site. I sincerly understand that.

Before, I was happy to pay for GC. Even with all the complaints about it when it first came out, I figured that, at the time of it's release, it was an easy way to support a good site, and to get some nice items on the side. The fact that I could pay for it in a store was even better, due to a lack of a credit card or Paypal.

However, with all the ways they're piling it on, I feel like buying Gaia Cash in any fashion would just be feeding into this collosial monster of a cycle. If I pay for internet entertainment, I want to feel like it was because I had a choice in the matter. Because the site I was paying money too respected my intellegence, and that they understood that I didn't have the time or money to do it all the time, and thus appriciated the few times I forked over 25 bucks for a few items.

Now? Now they're treating it like JC Penny's where they have a "sale" every day, to make it seem like a deal. Where they try to slum items on us for 250 dollars (in real money), trying to make it sound like a worthy investment. I feel like my intellegence is being insulted. Like they're treating me like a mindless consumer who only needs a catch phrase and some bright flashy colors to be convinced.

If we were just given a reason or two about new features, or a lack of funding, or a sister site, I'm sure all the members of Gaia would be willing to contribute. We like to know where our money is going, after all, and all these pop ups and flash sales just seem like a huge cover up to me. Why hide it? Why act like the problem isn't there? Why pretend all these cash items for event potions and hundred dollar items is just business as usual.

My suggestion: A Kickstarter. Yeah, I know! "What?! We're trying to get them to stop begging for money! Why suggest the one thing that does exactly that?"

For a few reasons, if you'll permit me:

1. In the kickstarter, they'll have a perfect opportunity to explain why they need so much money all of a sudden, They'll be able to explain if it's a lack of funding, a new project, a sister site, etc. So that way, we'll know where our contributions are going to. This is much more respectful and preferable than what's been happening recently.

2. Instead of shelling ut a hundred dollars for a group of colored pixels on a computer screen, the Kickstarter can instead offer material things. They can offer posters, plushies, figurines, wrist bands, shirts, VIP tickets for conventions, etc. Even virtual items, like avi arts, spots in the manga, Gaia Cash, rare items you can't buy anymore. The list goes on and on.

3. If they did a Kickstarter, and explained the need for money, and offered good perks, I would feel as though I were contributing to the site, rather than falling for it's tricks (which is exactly how I feel now).

A kickstarter isn't a cure all. There are a lot of changes to be made to bring Gaia back to it's former glory. Even if a Kickstarter wasn't possible, I would still like the return of the dignity and respect that they used to give us, back before the pop ups and flash sales.
holy s**t thatd be amazing
can we just email this to management
please

And there will be an automated email "thank you for your feedback but we don't give a s**t. Please do not try to overthrow the Gaia one party membership party or we will ban your account for 200 years."

That's just my guess.
i made a thread making a joke about the ceos underbite and someone pointed out that i can be banned for that

so i wouldnt be surprised

i remember when gaia banned for less petty reasons

Jokes' on them if you're immortal.

Don't complain when the site dies.
confused

Those that spend bc are helping keep this site alive.
At this rate, the site deserves to die if you ask me.
This is not the Gaia I signed up to be a part of years ago.
This is an out of control, money-hungry piece of crap that doesn't care about the people who can't afford to drop real money on this site.

If they can't afford it, then they can't afford it. It's not gaias problem then can't do anything about a persons debt. And "Money-hungry" ? Have you seen all the issues gaia has been having with the site recently? It's not cheap to just fix these issues. They have to have people work on the technical difficulties throughout gaia. And in order to do so, they have pay for fixes. They have to pay in order to give us these items they come out with. They have to pay in order to be even running the site.

This petition is only here to shut down gaia, not to "save" or "help" gaians.

I did, and that honestly freaked me out.

God I hate PMs

Also, this just further made me hate the site...i'm glad my adblock is still on this old laptop i'm using though so I don't get anymore surprises...like those pop ups that you'd get whenever trying to go back to My Gaia

I find it funny how they have those little things on Gaia Labs that are supposed to make viewing the site easier but, with all these ads, it's not really doing much of a justice anymore.
