I sign, because I've never spent money for GC. I don't have money to spend on virtual clothes when I can barely afford real clothes. The only reason I have the little bit of GC I have now is through those free things, but now they are virus ridden and apparently I don't quality for surveys anymore even when I lie about it. I find it hard enough to make gold in the first place so I don't do a lot of spending anyways. Most of my items are freebies or stuff from friends. Granted there are quite a few items I have from the free GC.
However lately I've noticed that Gaia has been shoving the GC idea down the throat and I'm really worried. Years ago I was really into a MMORPG, but then they started releasing money-bought items. I caved once, until I over heard someone say that they spent $50 a month on the stuff. They weren't the only ones either. Everyone seemed to have an animal partner or something. I eventually left because I was so disgusted that you couldn't really go anywhere without someone having a bought partner. No body really did team work anymore like when it first came out.
I've been on Gaia for a while now, but I really don't want to see this become a pay-only community. I've met so many precious friends from here, just like I had with the MMORPG. I'd hate to have to find another community were I can rp and just enjoy myself with talking to friends.
Gaia please stop forcing GC crap down our throats. It isn't right.

User since '04. I used to buy monthly letters all the time back then because I enjoyed Gaia so much, and because selling a letter on the marketplace meant I could get a lot of cool s**t in the gold shops. Now, 150k is basically pennies.

Let's just say I haven't bought a letter in years. Also, Gaia cash can suck it! I wouldn't even mind it so much if it was reasonably priced, but Gaia can't even manage to do that.

AND ALSO. GC items are always so well made and so beautiful compared to gold shop items. Seriously. It sucks to be so restricted from the best items because I don't have unlimited amounts of real money to dump into the site.

Double-edged sword here. It feels like this a virtual representation of the years
leading up to the Great American Depression. I can't say I agree with 100% of
the cause here, but I do agree with a lot.

I've sank a lot of time and money into this site well before the Gaia Cash rush.
So, I'll be damned if people try and take away my customer loyalty perks. That
would be creating a rip off for me.

But you guys aren't alone. Verge members have been raising similar points.
We just want a fair system. It's an amazing feeling to be rewarded with things
for the support of the site, but having an exclusive shop where the prices are
nowhere near what's in La Victoire is not a reward. It's an unfair advantage
we have to pay for in order to "get the leg up." I just want nice sh*t for my avi
and a fun gaming/community experience here.

Flynn and her gold-digging arse need to end. Rigging big events to rely on
GC items needs to end. And this sudden vague/silent/mysteriousness
needs to end as well.

We need transparency. We need to know what's going on. We need to know
we're being heard. We need to know our participation matters, not just our
money. And we definitely need to know where our ample donations are going.
And not just be told, but we need to see it happening.

pm's about offers, pop ups, "get gaia cash" right next to your gold amount, a special section in the shops tab for the cash shop, using staff alerts, etc
what more do you need??

I can really understand this. I mean I took all my cash shop items off by choice. But it was a HARD choice. And I don't think cash shop items are bad, I mean a lot of those were bought before Gaia started being such a nut. I love my cash shop items. But it was just that when I looked at myself all cashed up I just felt like... I dunno.... uneasy. I really want to put them back on but I feel I should stand by my personal choice. That doesn't mean I think others have to do it though. If you want to keep wearing your hard earned items then you should go ahead. One good thing I have found about choosing not to wear them for a while is that it has forced me to take a closer look at the gold shops since I'm only using gold shop and event items. There are some cute things in the gold shops but it's definitely true that items bought with cash are better (multiple uses, new poses, better design, astras), and a lot of the newer stuff is even better than the old donation items. Of course that items paid for with cash would be better is understandable even from my point of view as a Gaia consumer, but at this point the ridiculous prices in the Cash Shop and market inflation are just sending people a message that you can't get superior items without cash. I'm sorry some people have taken their frustrations out on you. I'm looking forward to the day when Flynn's stinky a** isn't making everyone in Gaia irritable.

I'm getting really tired of the constant pop-ups and announcements about "discount" cash shop offers.
Since the marketplace is getting more ridiculous by the day, making it virtually impossible to buy nice things without gcash, I might just quit the site altogether.

bought a cash shop item from the MP, you're still
supporting the use of cash shop items.

It's like they are punishing us. Making us "buy" GC to there expensive so we get the better items. Well, i'm sick of it. I've been the odd one out for quite some time, most of m friends on gaia have heaps of GC items, but i think they at least should be for gold!

And the prices in GC. Seriously. almost 450 GC for a good item. How much is that in real life money?! who would want to spend there money on virtual items?! The only thing i like about this game money wise is that you don't need to buy a member ship.
