I don't think this idea will work. The thought is nice but I doubt you'd ever get enough people to join to really make a statement.

I realize what you and several others are trying to do. I am sick of the super pushing of Gaia cash items too. However I have a feeling that this will be as effective as the protests on the booty grab nerf. I wish you luck on getting them to quit pushing cash. I haven't bought and Gaia cash in years all I do is watch videos and I have no desire to put my hard earned money into Gaia since they have killed zOMG.

I would LOVE for this to happen. But Black Friday is all I'm looking forward to sale wise. All these current sales have been crazy lately, with the high prices. I'm trying to save up all I can for the Black Friday sale. I may be lucky enough to have ~1700GC then? I've never participated in BF sale on Gaia before so I don't know what prices to expect. I'm not going to blow my GC on the BF sale if the prices are going to be what we are seeing in these current sales...
I'd be all for boycotting it to an extent though. Like don't drop more than $20 one item or something, but that may just get complicated....

Last year was the first one I was around for. If I remember correctly, prices were mostly around the 2,500 GC range.

Remember how 10,000gg used to be a lot of money to some? Then it steadily increased? Well I believe, at this point, Gaia has completely jumped the 1,000,000 benchmark and has gone straight to the 10,000,000 benchmark. At this current rate, 10,000,000 will become chump-change ffs.

As if it wasn't damaging enough the first several times, now they want to continue releasing it? Clearly they don't give two flying ******** about the community or the inflation. All they care about is their paychecks and that is it.

I can see it now, a "discounted" release of Flynn's assets at Christmas, just when people have money to spend. Good bye gold economy, you will be missed.

I know a lot of people have probably done the whole ranting thing already, but I want to vent somewhere if I can.

I miss Gaia. Honestly I do. I remember joining back in 2010 when I was thirteen years old and thinking about how cool this place was. Spending hours on zOMG and then falling in love with roleplaying. Figuring out how to bang out 2,000+ posts and then learning how to make pretty graphics. This place changed me a lot in ways it took me a while to understand. It was my Internet home; it gave me a place to escape to with people who were the most badass I've ever meet. I discovered my passions here - writing and design - and I made genuine friends. It was great. They had the storylines and all the events and it made me feel so included, like this site was genuinely there for the users. I guess I haven't been on as long as some, but there's been a difference. That warm, community feeling Gaia's always held for me is gone. It's gone. That's partially my fault since I haven't been as active on the site as I used to be, but even now, there's an authentic problem. I'm not as big on using gold anymore, since I really only come online for the occasional one x one and shop order, so I haven't noticed the inflation since I simply don't even use the little gold that I have. But Cash Shop items used to be a special thing that I drooled over and spent hours completing offers to get. They never went over 2000 Gcash before. I didn't get popups on the My Gaia page to buy things with real money or have a couple announcements everyday advertising Cash Shop items. I personally won't make any assumptions about why this is happening, but I want it to stop. Gaia isn't a business - it never has been and I don't want it to start being one now.

Gaia's come to mean a lot to me over the past few years. I'm turning sixteen next month. I admit, I've become distant and I'm not as involved with this issue as others, but I want the site I loved being on so much to come back. I never went looking for another website because it was perfect - it had a little something for everyone; no one felt left out, like I used to everyday outside of the Internet, as pathetic as that seems. Gaia hasn't changed as drastically as it may seem, I think; I mean, all of the features still exist. But with all of the inflation and Club Verge stuff, it's changing it's meaning. If Gaia goes down, I plan to go down with it, but I really hope it doesn't for the sake of how happy it's made me and so many others.
