Now with all this GC pushed items. I feel as though Sales aren't special anymore. I used to be so excited for new RIGs and or items. Not it's just Meh.
I dont feel like supporting or spending GC anymore.
Let alone the MP is super inflated with all these %++ items. Im thinking what the hell. All the Quests are becoming longer and longer the more Booty chests are being opened. But. I know the MP always has the INnlate and deflate.

I sign because I want Gaia to slow down a bit with all this GC pushed items.

I was reading this quote and you know... I really feel the same way. When Gaia released new CS items I used to go look at all the poses and decide if I wanted to buy it. Now, they just keep churning them out and I just don't feel like reading 5 announcements a day about some new cash shop "sale." I don't even know what's in the cash shop now because it's been so long since I've been there. The draw of cash items has been severely reduced for me and I don't really want to buy cash anymore anyway, regardless of how I feel about whatever else Gaia is doing. They've overdone it. It's not fun anymore.

Due to inflation, to be able to afford my dream avatar, I'm having to sell ALL the items from my old one. I can't just save up gold like you used to be able to. While I'm saving up, the worth of gold goes down, so it's pointless. I'm not sure I'll be able to even afford my dream avie anymore, even if I sell all my inventory. It's a horrible though, and if it turns out to be true, I'm leaving Gaia. I'm a fairly new member, who came here because I heard Gaia had a lovely community and caring staff. But I don't see a lovely community anymore, just an angry one, and money grabbing staff.

This hyper-inflation is sort of like what happened in Germany, 1923. The Reichstag (aka. The staff) kept printing more money (aka. Re-releasing the Flynn's Bootys/Chests), in the hope that would some how improve the situation in the Ruhr (aka. Gaia's supposed 'calculations'). The super-rich were fine, since they had land which didn't lose value (aka. Real money doesn't lose it's value, so those willing to spend lots of real money are fine). The super-poor, while not particularly happy, weren't really affected since they had nothing to lose (aka. New member aren't on quests and don't have any beloved items yet. There's actually a difference here, as the poor Germans couldn't leave, but the new members can- and most likely will). As for the middle class, they were pretty screwed (aka. Us). Their savings became worthless (our gold saving are worthless), and the price of coffee would change while you were drinking it (just when you think you have enough money for an item, the price has leapt up). Except that was almost a century ago- now we're in the twenty-first century, and you'd think we could act a little brighter. (Also, Germany was having a hard time with the Treaty Of Versaile, so they sort of had an excuse, unlike Gaia).

I realize this site needs money to run. In fact, it needs profit if it wants people to work here. But there are ways to make profit without upsetting, and losing, valuable members. Don't re-release items people hate. Try and sort out the economy, not make it worse. Put reasonable prices on things, so more people can buy them. Heck, I'd even put up with more advertisements if it meant Gaia actually put some heart back into this site.

I can't believe I ever considered giving money to this site. A few weeks ago I was contemplating saving up some pocket money so I could buy some G-Cash. But I don't think I ever will now. Not with the crazy hyper-inflation, turned sour (thanks to the staff) community, and excessive prices for items that are just pixels. Gaia needs to realize it's items are just pixels. It's asking people to empty their wallets for a few, coloured, pixels. Gaia, what you should remember, is behind those coloured pixels is a living, loving community. But not for long. At this rate the life will have left the site, and all the Gaia staff will be left with is cold computers, and lonely money that will eventually run out.

Look, this is a private company that is affecting the scale of a few bitter kids-young adult's wallets. (most of which, I'm more than sure are complaining about having to spend their parent's money and not their own).

Where as occupy was against a conglomerate of businessmen affecting the economy in a county where the GINI index is increasing hella. Occupy led to deaths.

Gaia is a business,and those go for profit. And they have a right to and are not harming the American Public by doing so. Money makes the site a better place.

I hope one day when you're older, not assuming age. You'll realize that some things are made to get money and you'll realize that wanting money isn't a bad thing! And maybe you'll realize that this site and it making you pay for certain things is nothing new or particularly harmful. Stuff like this is ubiquitous.

Just because you don't like something does not mean it is inherently bad. Just because something is for profit does not mean it's bad.

If you're so intent on comparing this to real world struggles, then tell me if you'd like to live in a communist society where nothing is for profit and everyone is happy.

This is coming from a hardcore democrat, who has been on Gaia since 2005 and never spend a penny on Gaia Ca$h, but unfortunately I realized the world doesn't revolve around my poor self and that hey, if you have a successful venture and want to make money off of it, then I'm happy for people who choose to do so.

WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH THE CEO WITH GAIA?

Do the users that have spent years on here count for anything? Why are the members being ignored and treated as we don't count or matter for anything? If not for the members the site wouldn't be here. Word of mouth is the most powerful advertisement ever; it can make you or break you. I love Gaia and look forward to signing in, finding and making new friends. Earning the gold for a coveted item that is loved and wanted. Without the Gaian community you and this site would go down in flames, is that your intention? If that is your intention then you are going about in the right way (screwing everyone), if not then things need to change and change now before it’s too late to save the site, disappointing the entire Gaian community.

As for treating the Gaian community as just a cash cow for your ego, at the expense of Gaia is just wrong in every sense of the word. We the members are NOT CASH COWS, we are people. There are those that can't or don't have the "Real Money" to spend on here, though some of us would like it if we did (but not now). Why should we spend our hard earned money on items that no longer matter or count for anything? For example: Items that are costing 13+ times or more what they used to be before the inflation? Expensive items not worth what they used to be worth, spending our “Real Money” for items that no longer hold the value or worth they used to. I understand that Gaia needs "Real Money" to continue, but you have advertisements that do and help with that. The "Real Money" that the members spend should be used to benefit the site and make it better, not to line the pockets of the higher up(s) that have no care or concern about the Gaia community. People would be more willing to spend “Real Money” if they were listened to and valued for their opinions and suggestions. This used to happen in the past. Why the change? Are we the supporters and members no longer wanted, needed, or valued. We the members of Gaia know what we want and what will work for us, why can’t this be discussed and worked on? We want the site to progress and be the best site out there, don’t you? Or is one person, the only person that counts? Is the CEO of such importance that NOBODY AND NOTHING else even matters? Things were going in the right direction before the CEO change. Things were being worked on people that loved their jobs at Gaia. Now to me it seems like everyone (most) are leaving from frustration, leaving less people to work on the site and the problems, this is NO WAY to run a gaming website, let the creativity out, let the workers go back to enjoying what they were doing. Happy employees are more productive, than unhappy employees.

P.S. I have spent hundreds+ of dollars in support Gaia, because I believed in the site and enjoy what it had to offer, but can no longer support the site the way it is and the way it is going.
I feel sorry for the new people coming to Gaia for fun and a fun place to be, they can't even begin to compete, unless they have LOTS of MONEY to spend. SAD crying

All the cash stuff makes me feel sad

I definitely have seen the terrible change from "yeah, cash stuff will be rarity" to it being an everyday occurrence that is shoved in your face and costs a week's entire entertainment budget and MORE. I'm not even in the states so It'd cost me more to buy it (including accounting for the exchange rate), so I consistently feel like I'm being treated like a second class citizen...

Also, one thing that randomly bugs me. The Cuttlefish, that was meant to be a DC only fish... why is there a LITE version of it? weren't the lite versions supposed to only be of pay-to-play fish?

where is all this money going? I hope to see some of it return to the actual site someday.

Short version: Once I was actually supporting Gaia, giving my friend real money so they would use their paypal to donate and give me an item. Now... not a chance. We both earn more, and I never feel gaia would actually treat me well if I gave them real money now.

I've actually been a frequent buyer of cash on this site, because I liked the thought of supporting this site and getting a reward for being so helping. But, the extra promotion for cash and all of the inflation that has been caused has made me want to stop buying it. Seriously, 25+ dollars for one item with 5 poses is absolutely ridiculous. We don't even get regular cash shop bundles anymore. I'm surprised they're still doing MCs. Flynn's booty was a good idea for maybe one very short amount of time. So, I'm swearing off buying cash until all of this chaos cools down.

I also really wish they would bring back the old games....or at least, not add new ones that cost GC to play.
