I don't have a problem with GC itself, when it was first released I was happy about it because I knew that it would help keep the site up and running nicely. What I DO have a problem with is how much GC and sales have been pushed on us in the past month alone, but that is nothing to me compared with Flynns booty.
I could handle the constant sales, but to know that Gaia is outright selling gold in this amount just...upsets me. Yes I know Gaia used to sell gold with the mithrill coins in RIGs and that gold wheel, but with the coins you only had a chance to win one and they didn't give out as much, neither did the wheel (if I remember right). Gaia got rid of those two things for a long time after they were released, probably because Gaia knew that if they kept releasing them, they would have a horrible affect on the economy over a period of time.
Not only is Gaia releasing an item that they KNOW will have a terrible affect on the economy, but they are releasing it over and over in stupid numbers AND ignoring the users pleas to slow down. I know Gaia needs money, but there are good ways and bad ways to go about raking in the green...Gaia, in my opinion, has gone down the wrong path with this. I know Gaia keeps releasing Flynns because people keep buying it, but there comes a point when they should look at what the item is doing and say "it may be making us money, but it's helping destroy a core part of this site, we can make money some other way" and then pack the item away in a dark closet somewhere, or at least slow down with the re-releases of it.
I'm also upset that they released Flynns after all the flark they gave about wanting to make more goldsinks and nerfing Zomg and BG. Seriously Gaia, it just looks really bad when you say "we need to lower gold payout in certain games, so we're nerfing them" and then you go and release something like this.
You know what I think Gaia? I think if you're going to keep pushing these booties and chests out, you might as well just throw the gold cap on Zomg and BG right out the door, at least give the non-GC users a semblance of a chance at keeping up with the inflation. It just pisses me off to see the free ways of gaining gold get nerfed, meanwhile people who have access to GC are getting 50k+ for every 99 cent booty they open. At this rate, the free users will have NO chance of keeping up, no matter how hard they work for their gold.
As it stands, I don't think I will be buying GC. Not solely because I'm angry at the way things are being run right now, but because with the way things are...I don't know how long gaia will live, or if I will even be able to stay along for the ride. If I do end up buying GC...it sure as hell won't be spent on dat a**.
