Keep in mind that the user base is the one who dictates how much items are listed in the marketplace. As much as you can blame gaia, you need to take in mind that you indeed are the one's who are listing the selected prices for the items. I.e all it takes is one user wanting to get a extra 100k-1mill on a item and everyone else will follow, then the next will follow. What you need to do is to make it clear to the user base that they need to be careful how they list items, or what I personally believe gaia should do is a do this little cap idea I had before. The cap will ensure a item can't extend a certain amount ensuring that it won't inflate out of control. Everyone boo'ed me on this idea, but if the userbase can't control their own actions, someone has to come in and do it for them.
Yes and no. But mostly no. The only reason that prices are skyrocketing is a combination of the fact that cheaper listings are snatched up quickly with the influx of gold that everyone is getting from Flynn's booty, and the fact that vendors know people have more gold to spend. Demand is up ddue to the massive influx of gold, which is highly devalued, so prices increase in return. It's easy to say human nature, but it's freaky how the economy almost has a computer-process mind of its own in response to stimulants.
Price caps aren't the answer, because people will only use the exchange forum to avoid the marketplace checks. it's physically impossible to cap a price.
