Well, in defense of the administration, the fact is that the site is, as Q&Aers like to remind each other, still in Alpha testing. Which means that they have the right to implement and test different features to see how well they work, and what the feedback on them will be.
The "right" is out of the question, they can ban everyone saying "cheese" and they would be in their right, this is us talking about the ethical side of the issue, Lanzer is breaking his word by releasing this feature

If the feedback is largely negative, then this test word filter (and it must be test, since there's no formal announcement) will go by the wayside like all of the other odd little seemingly glitch features that have appeared and dissappeared over the last couple of years.
Not a single one of these "small features" have ever been disabled. I dont see a reason why they would do so now, unless we make it painfully and very clear to the administration that they are wrong.

I'm not saying you can't have your opinion on it; in fact, your opinion is very important. Saying you don't like it helps the admins base what should and shouldn't be released in the future. However, the argument that they have no right to test or implment features to be tried and critiqued by the masses isn't a valid one. Even if the admins say 'there will be no suchandsuch a feature,' if demand is high enough for one, they will implement it. It's important to fullfill the needs of the majority of users of the site.
I don't see why the administration needs to follow every demand of the public, they have done so well in the past by doing what /they/ want instead of want a few thousand whining morons want.
