Facebook Connect - Seeking feedback

We wanted to give you a heads up about a feature that we're working on - Facebook Connect. In a few weeks, Gaians who also use Facebook will have the option to link their Gaia account with their Facebook account and share feeds of select Gaia activities easily with their friends on Facebook. Examples of these feeds are: updating avatars/profiles, starting a topic/poll, submitting an entry to arenas.The goal of the feature is to allow Gaians who wish to do so to share their artwork and discussions with their friends easily and automatically, even those who are not part of our site.

How this works (check out an overview of the flow here.)
1) You'll see an announcement and a "What's Hot" module on the logged-in homepage that links to a Facebook Connect landing page that tells the user about the feature.
2) By clicking on "Connect", you will initiate a process (that is run by Facebook) that asks you for permission on 3 things: a) connecting your account; b) providing constant authorization; c) publishing feeds to your activity stream on Facebook. You can select yes or no at each point.
3) You're done when you complete the flow. Feeds will now show up on Facebook if you chose to do so in accordance with your Gaia activities.
4) We'll be rewarding those who use the feature with Gold incentives - for the one-time sign-up process as well as ongoing Gold for each feed that's shared on Facebook.

Are you risking gaian's security again? Please no. Most gaians doesn't like facebook. why doing something like this instead of working on other things like homes?

I would never use it, but then again, I don't have Facebook and I don't intend to get an account there any time soon. I suppouse some people would use it and give better feedback, but so far I can say that it's gonna be some hard opposition from people that will claim Gaia has sold themselves to Facebook sweatdrop
I myself, find it comply unnecesary but at most interesting.

I wouldn't mind, but I have a huge issue with the gold incentive.
Some of us don't want or need Facebook, so it's a littttttle unfair.

Hm, interesting. A lot of sites nowadays seem to want to connect to Facebook somehow. I personally wouldn't use this feature. I've tried something out like this before on other sites, and saw no point in it.

Hmm, interesting. I think I probably will use it, actually. I use facebook to keep in touch with my old university friends but not a lot of them use Gaia...could be a good way to introduce it to them without it seeming so scary. XD

I'd like to see what it's like when it is rolled out though. P: But generally, I like it.

I do have a facebook, but I'm not sure if I will use this feature. Most of my friends on facebook wouldn't be interested, and honestly, facebook puts a feed for everything you do anyway, so I have a feeling this would just add to the clutter.
I'll have to wait until this feature comes out really in order to decide whether or not I'll use it.

I agree. I stay away from myspace/facebook/etc. and wouldn't want to be discluded from free gold because I choose to stay away from those sites.

I also agree that most gaians don't really like facebook =/ but I might be wrong. To me it just doesn't seem like the Gaia crowd is the same as the facebook crowd (Granted there is some over lap but still)

is there going to be an announcement about the addition of this possible feature?
