End the Botting in the arenas = no more gold gaining

NO! I like getting gold from the Arena. Let Gaia worry about the bots. I don't care about the comments they leave because I ignore them or tell a mod.

But it is your problem-it's everyone on Gaia's problem. Botting causes inflation. Unless you only buy store items, then the inflation affects you too. There are pleanty of other ways to make gold. I'm all for taking away gold from the Avi Arena. It helped with PMs so it will help with AA

Bots don't cause inflation, GREED causes inflation. Simply re-release older MCs and their won't be a problem. If 03 items were available to people like me who just joined, then inflation would be a thing of the past.

I don't like this idea. They already took away gold from pms and now you want arenas to? Then the botters will spam the forums relentlessly and you'll want to take that gold as well. It doesn't matter how easy it is to detect botters in the forum. They'll just make new ones and keep coming back. Its really not a user problem. Gaia needs better security and more mods.

I agree with you 100%. I have been having to delete bot comments from my pictures in the AA and quite frankly, doing this every day is not pleasant. I am sick of the AA bots as well.

I have been a gaia marketer since i joined in 05 and when i joined sealed started at 6K and really good items went up to 10K like cocos and guitars...

Back then it wasn't hard to make gold and it was very limited in how you earned it, all there was to earn gold was fishing, posting, polling and pink links/gift boxes
I would say to accept the idea you will never afford any 03 and selected 04 items, their only pixels, so go draw your own unique item, its called art talent. Aways remember the collectible items you own now you be worth that much in the same time.

People don't realize that inflation is caused because theres too many users with gold, so letters get bought up fast and people sell them higher, its called supply and demand.... if collecting gold was like when i joined, letters will be back at 6K and alot of donation items will drop because the lack of buyers...

Then they'll move on to different areas of Gaia to gain their botted gold. Gaia can't disable gold gain just because idiots are cheating or we would have to do away with gold all together. It's not fair to keep punishing the innocent users because of a bunch of kids with no lives.

So... CB Spammers are still a possibility.
How about we remove Gold gaining from ALL of the Exchange, the Chatterbox, the petitions forum and... All the Minishops 3nodding
Those are the only ones Bumping/spamming is Major in.
That would significantly reduce and discourage the amount of botters.

We should also RE-institute the IP ban.

It wouldnt get rid of the problem right away, it might help in the long run though. Users are STILL getting spam bot PMs for gold. We havent gotten gold for that in a little while.

Taking away Arena gold would also discourage those idiot voters/commenters. You know who.
I agree, it would be infinitely helpful to fairer judging.
There are many sides to this issue; and taking it away may cause more problems, but at the moment I have a one-track mind; therefore I agree without thinking further right now.

And encourage all the bots to just spam up the actual discussion forums? O_o Please god no. They may get caught faster, but the disruption would be a lot worse.

CB is a forum specifically for spam, and taking away the gold in the CB would take away a lot of Gaians' ability to make gold on the site. Hence not only the botters would be swamping the other forums with stupid posts, but so would the CB spammers. There would be a riot if people couldn't get gold by bumping any more.

I have to say I agree to taking away gold for arena comments. In the end, it's just making it harder on people who actually like browsing the arena. At the very least it will cause the botters to have to re-work their strategy, which will delay them for a bit.

Taking away gold will NOT stop bots from continuing to do something. This should be obvious, given the fact that many users still receive PMs from hello!bots.

I do, however, believe that removing gold will lower the number of bots. It would make the most sense to do this for the actual voting, seeing as those actually have an impact on the arena. Comment spam - while annoying - is just that. An annoyance.
