They did it the wrong way. There is more than one way to make items attainable for everyone. For example, what we had before Goldemort came along: Questing. People were able to get the items they wanted through a bit of surfing around the forums, playing games/Zomg, booty grab, etc. Sure it took some time, but there was a certain satisfaction in obtaining an item that those even with little to no money could enjoy.

That has been robbed now, and not just for the poor gaians...

All they did was create the illusion that buying gold would get people what they wanted. And then it became an addiction. Proof of this? Look at the ever increasing payouts of each new gold generator. Buyers remorse much? And how do they get away with it? "Our ToS says you have no right to complain. Don't like it? Get out."

You can hang onto that narrow minded speculation. But just so you know, it's utter bullshit. We all know they only did all of the things they have done, the big ones being the gold generators and lying about MC's, were only for the sake of profit mongering. Even Narumi has mentioned this before. So please, keep spewing the whole "Gaia is a business" schtick. Gaia was a business back in 2006 too, but they didn't make attempts to segregate the userbase then.

Yes, one of the points of a business is to make money. But at the same time they need to attract new customers and keep loyal customers around. It's all for naught if your loyal customers up and leave or else boycott you. Customer satisfaction is what is needed. You need to listen to your consumers. Not call them lab rats.
I'm not even a business major but I've worked enough retail to know what is wanted.

People were harassing him across the internet by name and that was not kosher. He's not the only one that makes the decisions so you are actually barking up the wrong tree by pointing the finger only at him.



What you should fear is not being listened to. That stems from ignoring the request not to say his name. Being rude and obnoxious is the the way to sway a business' favor. Continuing to post his name when you are pretty informed as to why you shouldn't already makes anyone that disagrees with their business model look like whining biddies, and that's not fair to the rest of us.

I hate what's going on here as much as the next person and I agree that things need to change, but I can definitely say that I am not happy about being lumped into a vocal minority that continues to be unobjectionably difficult and very discourteous after they were told why it's not cool. Once you break that hymen then Gaia is given license to "ignore the trolls" because people tend to do things "against the grain" just to prove a point that will never be proven- some join in just to egg it on for the shits and giggles; others are just wrong in the approach.



Quite frankly, if you were talked to about posting against the CEO then I can say with certainty that I can't tell what your goal is in continuing to posting his name. You're not a badass for doing it and only serves to make it harder for the rest of us to be listened to. This stands to make us lose more than what we do to gain.

You don't even understand where the idea came from. Gold generators are a cash cow for the company for real money. On the site, though, it pumps a ton of Gaia Gold into the economy until it has no freaking value.

Have you not seen Gaia Gold prices for items inflate obscenely over the past year?

If you think that the idea was to make items a little more attainable for everyone, consider people who have been raising gold for months or years to get items, all for their efforts to suddenly become pointless because that one billion Gold they worked their asses off to raise is now pocket change. Consider people who don't WANT to spend real cash on the website. Consider people who can't spend real cash on the website due to either being in a country where they can't buy cash or in a financial situation where they can't.

This is the complete opposite of making items more attainable for everyone. Not even "a little".

I suggest reading about hyperinflation in the Weimar Republic, and about the Zimbabwean dollar that was abandoned in 2009. That's what's happening here--hyperinflation. If you still think gold generators are okay, you're simply deluding yourself.
