Welcome to Gaia! ::

»I'll refer to this thread on people who have spent a lot of real cash money with Gaia on their aquariums and ask, why does it take 5 pages of a 'high trigger thread' to find one tank glowing, and when you do, only 2 fish are lit up?

Yes, I know there were tweaks to make people 'more sociable', but rest assured, my accounts have a LOT of sociable posts, just as they have a sizeable cash total spent with paypal to finance the tanks that donate a bunch of gold to booty-grabbing Gaians everywhere.

Also, yes, I know that most of SF is 'concerned' with inflation, however my opinion that this is a site just as much about fun with the economy as it is about the social aspect. I'm personally here for BOTH possibilities, however I'm sure that doesn't count for much in this forum :/.

I'd just like the amount of glowing fish restored to what it what pre-nerf, please. It's unfair (and perhaps more than that) to stiff those who paid real money based on a promise that's ultimately not kept.

¤§¤
I think it's all in your head. I rarely ever find booty grabs, and sometimes I get three in a row.
¤§¤

»I play a lot of booty grab in high-trigger threads. Unfortunately it's a highly observable pattern and not just 'in my head'. I do however thank you for your opinion.

I'm with Mrs. Wine here. I have spent hundreds of real dollars funding my tanks and now i'm lucky if they glow 3-4 times a day. That's pretty ridiculous if you ask me. It's very unfair to spend close to $600 on tanks and then have them reduced to what they are now. When you add in the cost of all of the fish and then the decorations on top of that, the price soars.

I'm sure everyone in this forum will start screaming about the economy and all that jazz, but it's also those of us that spend our money on Gaia Cash that help keep the place running. Why penalize us in such a way? To put it mildly, I am very unhappy with the changes that have taken place.
It's totally unfair for those who spent $100s of dollars to make their aquariums high-booty grab trigger, and they deserve the incentive of getting the amount of Gold they can get either in the 100ks or the millions.
I've noticed much less glows as well lately (although two tanks glowed for me in this thread >.< wink

I have mixed feelings. On one hand, yes, I'm happy it's being nerfed, less gold entering the economy. On the other hand, it's not fair to those that have spent lots of real money for their fish - what's the point of buying fish if not to get lots of gold through booty grab? Certainly not just for the drops, which may be months off? I bought all of my fish with gold, and I don't care if in the end I have a loss, but I'd feel screwed over if I had bought them with cash.

maybe if they could, in some way, give the tanks with expensive high trigger fish a boost in the overseer grants, it would help those who spent hundreds on their tanks feel better?

»That's one suggestion.

idk. I honestly see both points of view, however, ultimately it's unfair to stiff those who have invested in the site with certain expectations.

It might even be highly disadvantageous for Gaia if I got annoyed enough to sue them for misleading advertising and unmet expectations. :/ Which I'm currently considering now.

Well, you can't really sue them... you already bought the items, and the items are part of Gaia's property anyway...

i too go into high trigger threads, im lucky if i find a few a day

how about they nerf the gold output from the game itself, NOT how many times you get to play the game, at the very least people will have to work a bit longer

»Actually I can, if they don't meet the aforementioned criteria.

I think they have nerfed gold output as well - they've put a limit on how much gold you can grab form a particular fish. Say you're playing a game with a watermeat, and from that meat, you grab X amount of gold which happens to be the limit. The fish will then "quit" the game, not giving you any more gold. I've had it happen to me lots of times. So not only are there less glows, but also less gold you can potentially earn.

Hold up, I don't get that system:
So if my Lila has a potential to give 200G altogether regardless of how many times it's being played or 200G per game???

It's a per game amount - so if I grab X amount from your lila, and it's only halfway through, she'll stop giving gold. It resets for the next game though.

Phew, I was a bit scared there, I thought I wasted off 100k and get only 200G total in return from Booty Grab.
