Gaia, you have had over 3000 cash shop announcements (excluding the expected monthly CI and MC announcements, and EI reports) in the span of ELEVEN MONTHS (January to November inclusive). To put this into into perspective, that is nearly 30x as many announcements of the same type as we had in 2012 alone...
* A large portion of the non-GC announcements in April 2014, May 2014, and June 2014 were Flynn's Plunder. A large portion of the non-GC announcements in June 2014 were gold sink related or announced Playpen winners.
The decrease in cash shop updates in September 2014 is accounted for by Gaia's introduction to their "La Victoire Digest."
Random GC Updates: Includes flash sales, GC-related updates, GC sales, "last chance" announcements, etc... Does not include GC-announcements from the Staff Updates thread.
Regular GC Updates: Includes MC updates, REI/EI Reports, Monthly CI reports, and "last chance" CI announcements.
Non-GC Updates: Includes monthly updates, gold shop updates, convention updates, event updates, Flynn's Plunder, gold sink updates, and anything not directly GC-oriented.
Some minor numerical errors may be present. Criterion for categorization was originally based off of this thread by Vagah, thank you! All graphs in this thread are free to use.

My Feedback
You've taken away a large part of the "thrill" of new items. Everything feels the same. There's hundreds of new items available a week and its overwhelming.
When you sign onto Gaia, you're bombarded to spend, spend, and spend more. That's not what Gaia's core used to be. You're ruining the site for many people with your money hungry and desperate attempts to make spending the pinnacle of Gaia.
You're alienating a large portion of your user base. There are now people who resent this site with a passion. You're taking the site for which many people called a second home and abusing the relationship your users have with the site to your profitting benefits. It's wrong, Gaia. You might see us as "lab rats", but we're actually people who care about this site and see it as having more potential than to just make you profits.
Your practices are unsustainable. It's obvious less people are spending cash on site. You've tailored your marketing practices to focus primarily on the wealthier big spenders as opposed to micro-transactions that are affordable to a wider range of users. You rarely exceed over 30-40% of your predicted LQI sales, and you have to keep offering better and better "deals" to get users to spend (hence the constant GC discounts, tiered events, and freebies.)
Gaia, you've really messed up the site with your excessive cash shop dependency. Additions to the cash shop are "UPDATES", tiered spenders are "EVENTS", and your advertisements are your "ANNOUNCEMENTS".
It looks like the Marketplace Chart.
Was there a Flynn Booty released in the offices that gave them up to 1 million announcements and now they're trying to ad sink us?

...Why Must You Be So Far?
Haha, that's a very good observation 3nodding. Seems like that, since Flynn's Booty started in August when announcements/sales just began to get bothersome
