Introduction

Humans are naturally curious as to what cannot be explained.

I am a seventeen-year-old female, and an avid devotee to the finer practices of the Occult. I am not a Satanist, and I am not Wiccan; I haven't a religion, remain agnostic to be simple, and do not let my personal views interact with my Tarot readings.

I have been a reader for five years now, and use only my Vampire deck.
I once owned a gorgeous Leonardo daVinci set, but I had to return it because of financial problems at the time.

My mother, though I hate her for legitimate reasons, introduced me to Tarot with her Native American deck and Celtic set. One could say that the practice is in my genes.

I am a Pisces, and very interested in astrology. If I find your reading interesting enough, I will likely do some free astrological consultations. ^^ For those who do not follow astrology, Pisces are considered the most psychic, emotional, receptive, and spiritual of all the signs, so I see this as a fit job for me, however unlikely it would be in the professional world.

Introductions

The basic Tarot deck is comprised of the Major and Minor Arcana. The Major has cards some will find familiar, such as The Emperor, Strength, and Death. An example below. There are twenty-two cards [my lucky number and birth date, as it were] with a "0" card [The Fool].


The Minor Arcana is divided into four sections; Cups [water, emotion], Pentacles [earth, money], Swords [air, the mind], and Wands [fire, activity]. These take after your basic playing card deck, with an ace, numbers two through ten, a page, a knight, a queen, and a king. All in all, fifty-six in the Minor.

A majority of all readings are done with the Major, while more intimate and precise questions are directed to the Minor deck.

I never understood how people read things from tarot cards.
They're practically just small cardboard cut-outs with pictures on them.
Don't get me wrong, they're cool and all, but I'm just wondering how people do it.
