Welcome to the Academy of Sketching of Sillyness or A.S.S. for short. (No, sillyness is not a typo. I did that on purpose.) We here at A.S.S. want to help you the budding (or budded) artist become a better sketcher (no not the shoe). We can help you whether you are a novice or a self proclaimed expert. There's always something new to learn here at A.S.S. And if there's nothing to learn then why don't you sign yourself up to teach?

Everyone here at A.S.S. Must abide by the rules.

01. Emihaumut is the Super Omnipotent Being here at the Academy of Sketching of Sillyness. Whatever she says goes.
02. Be nice. And Respectful. Just because someone may draw worse than you doesn't mean you're above them. That only applies to me. Because I'm the S.O.B.
03. Be literate. No chatspeak of 1337. There is only one case where rule number two can be revoked and this is it. If you can't spell out your words... oh you're in for a world of hurt.
04. Read the rules. They're here for a reason.
05. Abide by the rules. They're here so I don't go crazy.
06. Don't Spam. I have enough threads to read and catch up on as it is.
07. Don't PM Emihaumut. Just don't. Unless my house is burning down, I don't want to hear about it. Unless I asked you to or started the PM. Then that's different.
08. You MAY post images (though make them small or thumbnail them) here for me and fellow sketchers to critique. Also add if you'd like line overs or not.
09. Let the Sillyness ensue. Though I do ask that you don't switch topics too fast.

This is how we roll, babe.

Alright, so here's how the teaching will work. Post here which lesson(s) you want to learn and who you want to learn it from. If it's a complex lesson, start a trade with X amount of gold as well. From there, you and I will figure out a time where we can both be online. If you have OpenCanvas, you will start the online session thingy on OC (because I still haven't figured out how in the world to use that program) and we will begin. If you don't have OC, We shall use PChat which requires only an internet browser. I'll PM you the link and then we'll roll from there, cool?

After you're done rolling, you tip. Of course that's optional, but it's strongly recommended as it makes us the teachers happier and therefore likely to offer more variety in lessons.

As for now (since I'm the only artist and gold doesn't matter to much to me), all the basic lessons are free. What constitutes as a basic lesson? Well anything without a funny emoticon next to it. The complex lessons I will have to charge you for because they're hard.

The name's Emihaumut or Emi for short. I've been studying how to draw seriously (or as seriously as possible whilst drawing animu) since 04. I have quite deep roots in anime as that's what I started with (wrong choice >.< ) and am now branching out into realism. I like to say I'm getting quite good... like to say. My tools of choice are Photoshop, Illustrator, Copic/Prismacolor Markers, and the good ol' pencil and paper. I have experience in board game designing, conceptual art, comicking, drawing from life, you name it, I've probably tried to do it before.

-I am online most days of the week, (never online Sunday), from about 2pm to 6pm EST. I live in Florida; The Moldy State.
-I will teach you anything you want to know. [Acrylics, Anatomy, Animals, Anime, Art History, Cartooning, Colored Pencils, Coloring, Comics, Composition, Ink media, Inking, Light, Lineart, Markers, Painting, Pencils, Perspective, Proportions, 'Realism', and more.]
If I don't know enough about it to teach it, I'll make it a point to learn everything I can and then share my findings with you.
-It would help if the student has any of the following: A scanner, A wacom tablet, and any media the student would like to use.
-I have experience in web design, I'm learning flash, and I've been doing CG since I was 12.

Lessons:
Lessons will be structured, just as all my most useful art classes have been. Yes, you will have assignments; it's a fact of life that if you want to become better at art, you must get your hands dirty. No ammount of knowledge will make you a better artist if you do not apply it in art. I will offer in-depth discussions, critiques, advice, examples, tutorials, ect., and will provide you with all I can in order to help you out as much as possible. I offer to you my entire wealth of knowledge.

About the Artist:
If you want to know about me as a person, visit my myspace. I have been drawing forever, as everyone else has, and I have always loved art with an intense passion. I am 15 years old. I have taken professional art classes, school art classes, and done independant study for years. Some of my favorite artists are: Gris Grimly, Salvador Dali, Jhonen Vasquez, Aaron Alexovich, Ethan Nicolle, Sam Kieth, Lesley Reppeteaux, Leonardo da Vinci, Gerard Way, and Chandra Free. My goal in life is to become a great artist, and be able to make a decent wage on it. I am kind and patient, and I would be glad to be your instructor.
