Welcome to the city of Mistral.
It's not a large city far out in the wastelands, only really known for the elite hunters and huntress that come from it, proof that a tiny settlement out in the wild can withstand the storm become something great.
The one thing that attracts people to the city is Siren academy, because they have a reputation for taking on anyone who asks and those who graduate tend to be among the best of the best.
Getting to Mistral is the hard part, it's thousands of miles from civilization, and there's nothing in between but ruined cities and endless hordes of Grimm, because of this, Mistral has become known as "The Disconnected City", they have a firm policy of only concerning themselves with their own affairs, so the city's a great place to start anew.
But a new storm is coming.
The concentration of Grimm outside is increasing, they're trying harder than ever to get in.
And the White Fang is intent on spreading it's reach to the Disconnected City, and getting a firm grip on it's prodigious hunters and huntresses.
The school has upped it's game, for the first time ever it is implementing the mainstream team system rather than training it's students to work solo and is working it's hardest to get people from other places in Remnant to come and enroll.

1.) No godmodding/powerplaying. It's very annoying when somebody controls someone else's character, never gets hit by anything, and is never hurt.

2.) No cybering. At all. I will allow up to as far as making out, but if it goes any further than that, do a timeskip.

3.) PROFILES! PM me a topic you made in the test forum, this is something I've seen done once or twice and it keeps things nice and tidy, like this!

4.) Warnings! You only get two of them, and when you mess up a third time, you will be removed from the roleplay. If you do something minor, then I might let you back in, but there isn't much room for forgiveness...

5.) Title all profiles 'Rising Storm'

6.) Posting! At least have your characters name and picture. I'll understand writers block, we all get it and it sucks. Do at least a paragraph which is usually 7 sentences.

7.) Moderators! we'll will pick these from time to time, if they are doing good behavior, and have offered idea's for events and rules and other things.

8.) Also, don't use ** for actions, explain them in your posts like "Billy walked over to his friend's room and knocked on the door". Use "" for speech, and Italics thought (feel free to stick ' ' around thoughts, or do them in a different color, whatever your preference).

9.) PLEASE if try not to post more than twice before everyone else has a chance, it gets hard to keep up.

10.) all teams will be randomly assigned, so here's hoping I can make good acronyms rofl

11.) Obey gaia;s TOS, this goes without saying really.

It's the day before the first test that will team you up with three other students*
People are arriving from all over Remnant to attend Siren, so take this time to settle in and get to know your fellow Hunters and Huntresses to be.

*I have a method planned for this, on your first post roll a 100 sided dice.
This method has the off chance of not working but don't worry, I will contact people who "break" the test and give you further instructions, it will work better once we have around 8 people

Nuriela stared in awe at the building in front of her.
Siren Academy stood proud and tall, lit up like a vast, eternal firework. doors wide and welcoming.
She assumed that this was the dancing light she'd seen on the horizon on her way here.
She'd come by car, as the chaotic sandstorms made it impossible to fly to Mistral. The journey had taken the most part of a week and she'd stopped the night in a hotel in the city to freshen up a little.
She hoped that her medicine could be shipped this far.
She dismissed the thought immediately, as her attention was stolen by the huge crowd, for a moment she feared she'd be swept away by the masses.
Looking at them, she could tell the vast majority were not students, from their attire she guessed they were locals.
"Miss Phoenix?"
The heiress turned at the sound of her name being spoken, she looked up at the tall, white-masked faunus and smiled, the concern in his voice touched her "I'm quite all right sir no need to worry" she reassured him.
She'd had a particularly bad relapse on the third day, apparently her heart had stop completely for a full minute, fortunately she was travelling with medical professionals and her little episode had been swiftly dealt with.
The stress of the journey had taken it's toll on her, there was no doubt about that, but she was fine now.
And she thought the armed escort through the city had been a bit much unsurprisingly, her arrival had turned quite a few heads.
It must have been a strange sight, a dainty little woman surrounded by hulking, formidable men with guns, wearing demonic Grimm-like masks.
She doubted they knew anything of the White Fang out here.
It was her job to spread their message to the so-called "Disconnected City", recruit more Faunus to fight for their cause.
Her escort held out her bag, the bag containing her weapon, her precious Matriarch.
She took it gladly, near staggering under the weight of it.
He snorted, apparently finding her struggle quite amusing.
Nuriela found herself laughing too "All that training and I still can't lug this thing around"
He grinned "Perhaps a minigun wasn't the best choice"
She shook her head "Oh no, Matriarch is perfect!" she quickly insisted, blushing "It should be, I designed it!" she bowed a little "You can go now, I'll be fine."
He nodded "Good luck, Miss"
Before she could answer, he disappeared into the crowd.
"Goodbye..." she shook her head and sighed, turning back to the open gates.
I wonder what will happen next.

It had been quite the travel to reach the large gates that stood before him. Kevin rode by wolf, using the water Dust infused in his cape, and his wolf's covering. It not only kept them cool, but ended up being useful for making moisture when used. He was somewhat tired, though made it safely to the academy. Reaching into his bag, which was infused with the same Dust, he took out a nice, crisp apple, sinking his teeth into it. Hopefully he'd find something meatier inside.

"Alright, Rascal, you can head on back." With a nod, the large black wolf he traveled on made a mad dash back home. He smiled at the massive building that stood before him, reaching to his side to rest his hand on the custom built bow. He quickly checked his quiver, and all arrows were still secure in their containment. He had about ten arrows total, five lightning, five ice. He had some materials in his pouch to make more, but could make some from raw materials if necessary. His tail wagged excitedly as he began making his way toward the academy, taking another crunchy bite of the crimson fruit.
