Kohaku approached the contemplating girl slowly, his feet slowly tapping the ground as he stepped closer and closer to her. He approached her, standing behind the bench but not on it. He stood behind the right side of the bench, far, but close as not to startle her (if she already didn't notice she was there). Kohaku didn't turn his head to look at her, but his eyes moved to her direction. In this weather, her Lolita get-up was a very odd choice. It must have been a bit too warm.

She was eerily beautiful. But once he thought that, he felt a bit strange. Like he had been invaded. Like his mind wasn't his own anymore. He finally turned his head to look at her directly. From the way she stared out into the distance, he assumed even if he said something, she wouldn't answer him. 'Worth her time? Ha. Like hell.'

He put up a poker-face (obviously one that couldn't match hers) and broke the silence.

"Who are you?"

The girl sat for a few moments, the silence seeming like an eternity. She embraced this silence before she spoke. "Shizu Arisu." she said simply, not looking at the invading boy or even changing her position. Her lips moved with precision and charm, speaking slowly as if to get the full meaning out of each word she spoke. After all, since she didn't speak many, each one meant a lot.

"A gentleman introduces himself first." she mentioned, still not changing her position or her vocal monotone. She found it strange that this boy followed her, only to demand her name so bluntly. It was intruiging, but also troublesome. In waiting for his response, she decided which was more overpowering in this situation.
Shizuka smiled in response of being in the same class as Michiko, she didn't really have much friends here as much as she tried to be open to more people. "Same here Chiko-chan, I was kinda afraid of this year...with being new and not really knowing anyone." With that a sigh of relief was needed, She followed Michiko and took a seat in the row."Of course! I like the sound of it, hehe." She laughed slightly as she looked back at the stage to notice that Michiko was right about the staff being late with a room filled with students. For such an out of the moon assembly, you would think that they would be here first before the students."I wonder what this as assembly is about anyway? They don't do this every year do they? I mean...Maybe they did have it last year, I didn't come until later into the school year."

The assembly soon started with a third year who was quite embarrassed from the looks of it, after setting up the microphone and giving the small introduction. The Chancellor walked upon the stage and gave the welcoming of the students of the first year and began what she had to say which caused an up roar in amazed students.

"Kisaki Omoi? I had a feeling..." Shizuka was as confused as the others, she didn't believe the rumor but still... "Chiko-chan...you believe in the rumors of that death girl?" She didn't want to say it her self yet and she didn't want to look crazy and think the death girl was really Izanami reincarnated or something. She always wanted to meet this death girl for herself...and even ask her if she was Izanami or something, maybe she might remember something from the past.

Kohaku's eyes narrowed. Shizu Arisu? Yes, she was definitely the fabled "Death Girl" alright. "Pointing out my flaws already?" Kohaku smirked, folding his arms before his chest. "How daring. Perhaps one would find it unladylike to say something like that. I, however, see no problem with that. Who is to say what is 'manly' and what is 'womanly'?" Kohaku wasn't exactly the most gentlemanly person in the world, unfortunately. "However, Shizu-san, it is wonderful to meet such a bold lady as yourself. My name is Kohaku Mari."

He wasn't really expecting her to answer him. Her voice sent shivers down his spine, and his suave talk was just his strategy to cover that up. But he got the feeling that if she did look at him, he couldn't hide anything from her gaze.

"Death Girl...?"

Michiko thought about it for a moment. She had heard the rumors, because everyone had heard them. She remembered she talked about it with her brother for a little bit, but nothing other than the usual 'did you hear about this' and shrug combination. She looked up to the frail girl on stage, and felt a pang of guilt. She did not do anything to this girl, and yet there was a strange feeling welling up inside her. She tried to repress it.

"From the way she looks, it seems like something really horrible happened to her. Maybe this Death Girl is at fault. But at the same time..." Michiko trailed off. 'Is it right to assume that her illness is the fault of another?' Michiko thought, her conscience arguing with herself. 'Well, depending on the illness, you could potentially blame...but that's in terms of genetics and mono.' her thoughts began to swirl into storms of confusion.

Shizu waited a moment, taking in what he had said. "There's no need to speak in such a way." she said rather bluntly. "Compliments are just words." She stood up, turning to him and looking at him for the first time since they had reached the roof. She was still holding her doll with both hands, now situated near her waist. The setting orange sun was in view behind her to the right, emitting light between her back and profile.

"However... it is nice to meet you, Maki-san." she said, an odd confliction between her common words and her uncommon tone. Her gray eyes looked into his, able to read him in a way. Shizu was adept at noticing people's ticks and true feelings, making it hard to truly accept anyone. Humans are imperfect as a rule... but when these imperfections are prominent, a person's character can become unattractive. She could tell Kohaku was hiding another emotion. However, it was a bit difficult to interpret it. Fear, nervousness, curiosity... yes, these are common emotions toward her, but there was something else. Something tying them together.

"Would you care to join me in the third-floor reading room after dinner?" she asked him, unsure of what his answer would be. This question didn't mean anything special to her, she just wished to have a short conversation. This Kohaku Maki was an odd boy, one that she wished to speak with and learn something about.
The chancellor tried to calm down the crowd. "Now, now. Settle down, everyone." she said, but to no avail. She could have figured that this exposure would raise a ruckus. It continued until aomeone else stepped forward.

"Excuse me..." said a quiet voice. The voice was projected by the microphone, filling the corners of the theatre. Everyone became quiet. It was Kisaki Omoi. "I'd like to say that I'm very happy to be back here. I missed this school when I was in the hospital, but I hope I can get back in touch with all of my old friends, and meet new ones, too. I'm sad to say I won't be able to do the same sports as I participated in before, but I'll try to join other clubs. Let me know which ones are the best, okay?" she said with an innocent smile.

Kisaki was the kind of small, cute girl you wanted to be friends with. Like, the one you wanted to protect from the big, bad world and just make sure she's happy. It's no wonder such a fuss was raised when she left the school. "Chancellor Kudageki-sama... I think I'm done. Thank you very much for the chance to re-enter the school and speak with my friends again." she said, stepping from the podium and exiting stage left.

"Oh, thank you Kisaki." Kudageki said, surprised the young girl was able to quell such a crowd. "Well, now would be the time we normally introduce our incoming first-year students, but it appears as though we are running a bit low on time..." she said, a sigh of relief being emitted by the students. The second and third-years didn't care much for the introductions, and the first-years were hesitant of being held on display to the whole school to see. "Well, instead make it a goal to meet at least one first-year student by the end of the day. In our tight-knit school, it won't take very much time at all for the students to all intermingle with eachother." she said, sure of herself. "Well, you are dismissed. Let us pray for a wonderful, eventful, and sage school year." she said, her face suddenly changing as if she had just remembered something. "Oh! And six o'clock in the evening is when dinner is normally served. Since it is nearly that time now, I would ask that all students report to the cafeteria located on the opposite side of the fourth-floor."

The students stood, stretching after the ceremony. Many of them quickyl exited to grab some food. Kyokkou was known for its selection, a buffet always lined with many different kinds of food. The chefs were reknowned in their field, making many wonder why they decided to work in a boarding school kitchen.

It's a rumor that they were sous chefs, got arrested, and their records only allowed them to work in an institution, so they worked at a fancy school. However, only a handfull of people actually believe that.

Shizuka hesitated for a moment keeping quiet for a moment as the assembly was going on and when Michiko was thinking to herself. "I think...All though this may be just a really, hehe...weird guess. But I think she may be some way an Incarnation of Izanami herself...Well if the rumors are true." Oh jeez...Did she really have to blabber that out? Izanami? What an idiot... "Then again, That's just some random guess...Hehe.." She could of just beat the kids up to a pulp or something...but that doesn't quiet hold up to the rumors though. "Finally, it's over...We should hurry before they get all the good stuff!"
(( We now have an OOC Thread! =3 It's not mandatory to post here, but I'd really appreciate if you'd check in every so often. A tightly-knit group leads to an awesome RP. ))

As her gaze locked onto his for even the slightest moment, he physically twitched. He gritted his teeth as he immediately looked away from her, as if trying to hide something within. His eyes fell to her doll, which was so securely held onto by the mysterious girl. It struck him as a comfort blanket of some sorts, though it was clearly just a somewhat warn toy. And then he heard her question, and his eyes fell back to hers again, a bit wider than they were before. A small smile crept up onto his lips.

"Yes, of course. I will meet you there after dinner." this was an opportunity easily presented to him, or so he figured. His curiosity would be satisfied.

"Izanami? You mean the goddess who went to the underworld and vowed to kill a thousand people each day after trying to chase her former husband?" Michiko asked, recalling the story of Izanagi and Izanami. She was an expert on mythology, as she loved the subject. Anything New Age, anything that seemed like fantasy or an urban legend was her passion. "That's not silly; that's interesting." Michiko said, smiling weakly. 'But why Izanami? When I think of a death goddess, I think of the three fates. Oh wait, the revenge thing. That is probably why she thought of Izanami.' Michiko thought to herself, losing herself in her mind for a moment before looking back at Shizuka.

"Oh, yes. Let us go get something to eat." Michiko said, nodding as she stood up from her seat and began to wander over towards the doors to the staircase that would lead to the dining hall.

((Hoorah! OOC thread! ^_^))
"Hm... very well." she said, hearing the school bell chime. Perhaps she could satiate this boy's curiosity as well as her own. She only needed one thing from him to know for sure if he had it...

"Dinner." Shizu muttered, more as a statement than a word directed toward Kohaku. She affixed her doll to her belt, walking through the door which led to the stairs. She decended to the fourth floor alone, ahead of Kohaku. She figured he'd follow if he wished, but understands through personal experience that everyone needs time to think.

Kazuhiko stood up with the other students, being one of the people that sat near the dark corner in an attempt to be a bit less confined. However, this didn't stop a few people from sitting near him and trying to make idle conversation. He didn't know these people, but he put on a smile and attempted to speak in his cool and sweet voice despite his position. He was usually fine with putting on the charm, but today felt off, for some reason or another. He made his way to the cafeteria.

"Haha... I know, right?" said the familiar voice of Yume. She was, of course, one of the girls who whispered chitchat during the speech, but of course stopped when she heard of Kisaki's reappearance. Her eyes grew wide with everyone else, thinking she had died. Did this mean her information was wrong? She did tell a lot of people she was gone, but it wasn't her fault. I mean, it was the others that spread that garbage in the first place: Omoi-senpai's close friends. She made a mental note to never believe anything they told her. She made her way with the crowd, hoping to get some of the good food.

Hayate stood up from his seat, his lazy eyes blinking slowly. "Time for some chow, then." he muttered to himself, wandering away from the theater and towards the cafeteria. Unlike his sister, he wasn't so spacey and at least paid attention to where he was going. Well, that's the way it usually was. The crowd began to become thicker and thicker with people. "I thought this was a small school community." he muttered bitterly to himself as he got closer to the dining hall, expecting the line to be short. It wasn't as he expected. He rolled his eyes and launched himself forward, hoping to stake out a spot a bit further along in line.

In his haste, he bumped into a first year boy. "Oh, sorry." he apologized to Kazuhiko quickly.

Kohaku remained on the rooftop, staring off into the sunset. He really wasn't too hungry, to tell the truth. Even if the cafeteria closed, he could probably sneak out after hours to get a bite to eat somewhere around town if ever did get his appetite back. He had lost a bit of his appetite after that experience, his stomach bubbling with a strange and foreign feeling. She had already gone, living him to face the orange horizon. He glared into the distance, his olive eyes narrow and sharp. He'd wait until he knew dinner was over before he would go find Shizu.

He merely stood, contemplating over the events that had just occurred.

Kazuhiko, with his small build, stumbled a bit at this unexpected bump. He looked up with a glare, thinking it was a rabid fangirl, but then quickly changed his face when he noticed it was a third-year boy. "Oh... it's no problem." he said, regaining his composure. This person who bumped him seemed so confident, so driven. He was probably trying to find a place in line. Kazuhiko had gained his place by shooting a glance at a second-year girl, so he figured that he could help this person out. It was only fair, right? Well... that didn't make sense, but the first-year boy admired this older boy with the faded black hair.

"My name's Kazuhiko Bara..." he said, his voice a bit more submissive than normal. He wasn't used to talking with guys, especially ones that were older than him. "Would you like a place in line here?" he asked, wondering if a third-year would even accept such a request from him.

---

Another first-year student had already gone through the line and taken his seat near the corner of the cafeteria. He was a particularly scrawny person with short brown hair and desginer headphones. Well, they were a few years old, but they were all the rage when they came out. He had one of those two-screened handhold game systems in his hands as he lounged seated in one chair with one leg in another. He didn't seem to care the odd glances a few people were giving him. Why should he care? He was about to find the JOKER's whereabouts in Eternal Punishment SD. They wouldn't understand.

Hayate wasn't surprised to see that an underclassman was acting so polite. He was a third year student, after all. He heard Kazuhiko's offer, and thought it to be a bit strange. Usually first year students were so ready to taste the food from the cafeteria that no student, senpai or not would stand in their way. Hayate mentally shrugged in his head. Why not? He was hungry. "Sure. Thanks. I'm Hayate Hayashi." Hayate introduced, his voice rather distant. Hayate glanced back at Kazuhiko. Around him, he could hear quiet female voices whispering his name over and over. He must have been pretty popular. 'Wow. I guess he must be...a lady's man or something like that.' he thought.

"You popular with the girls?" Hayate asked Kazuhiko, trying to strike up a conversation. His tone came out a bit rudely, but Hayate really didn't care. It was the way he tried to be.

Kazuhiko waited for a moment before nodding once sheepishly. He wasn't sure if this was an admirable thing or not, but it was who he was at the moment. He may be a player, but he wasn't a liar. "Um... yeah. I guess you could say that, Senpai." he said, oddly using a more formal address. He tried to keep an air of class and sophistication, but it was normally just around girls. He didn't really have anything to gain from men, so he usually acted indifferent around them, unless they were elders.

"How about you?" Kazu asked, trying in vain to keep things moving. if he didn't, this may become an awkward wait. Hayate appeared to have that calm, cool vibe that attracted girls. Kazuhiko wouldn't be surprised if the boy was fighting them off in droves.

"Not interested in dating right now. I'm a third year, so I've got college and stuff to worry about." Hayate stated bluntly.

That was a lie, though it wasn't very obvious from his expression. Hayate was a romantic at heart, but he couldn't really express that. Why? Because his physique and characteristics made him seem cold and a bit too focused on things like school work. He really wanted to find someone he could spend time with, since he prevented both potential relationships and friendships unintentionally. Hayate was a bit antisocial, but he knew in time it wouldn't matter. Work would absorb his life anyway. The thought depressed him significantly, but he repressed that and smiled weakly at Kazuhiko.

"You're young, Bara-san. You don't have to worry about that kind of stuff for two years."
