It has been twenty five years since the final battle with Voldemort. The wizarding world is in antebellum, and each wizard and witch lives without fear. They also know who is responsible for their newfound peace. The famous trio and their classmates have now grown up, gotten married, and had children of their own.

In fact, it has been nearly twenty five years to the day that the Dark Lord was ended and the second war was over. The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry had nearly been closed permanently over the then-recent events; there were some in the Ministry that felt the school had been responsible for giving Voldemort all of the tools and knowledge necessary to take on the mantle of the Dark Lord. However, due to public protest against the idea, Hogwarts remained open, and has since has worked very hard to remove the dark stains and get back it's once glorified reputation. The curriculum places a greater emphasis on the Defense Against the Dark Arts, teaching students how they can better protect themselves, and nothing more. It is a precaution felt necessary by the staff and parents still uneasy of the safety of their children. What was once considered the safest place in this corner of the wizarding world, Hogwarts had been invaded twice in the past two years. Even the great Albus Dumbledore could not keep his castle safe, and though no one blamed him, the fact remained. And there are other, more recent facts that must be taken into consideration.

But it has almost been three decades since the school siege, and nowadays a parent’s greatest worry is what sort of trouble their children might get into this year. And this is a very unique year indeed. If there was one thing made clear twenty five years ago, it was that the wizarding world, though widespread, is irrevocably intertwined, and what threatens one threatens them all. So in order to improve international relations, three schools---Hogwarts, Durmstrang, and Beauxbaton---have implemented a transfer program. Each school is taking select students from the other two schools as transfers. While the Triwizard Tournament fueled competition, the aim of this program is to begin building bonds that will prove advantageous in the future, should another threat arise. At the end of the school year, a board will evaluate the program and it will be decided if the schools benefit from the merger at all. But in the mean time the transfers will participate normally as students in their respective schools, following in the individual and age old traditions of each. Those who have transferred over have been sorted pre-maturely into appropriate houses, and are expected to do everything like a regular first year would. Including trying out for teams, and clubs. Tradition is what keeps hogwarts alive today.

One such tradition, while not “age old,” has become revered among those at Hogwarts. Each year, on the second day of May, a ceremony is held near the white tomb where Albus Dumbledore lies. The great man is remembered for all his achievements, but there is another purpose as well: to honor all of those who fell in the Second War.

Despite the growing peace in these last twenty five years, something has happened. A ripple of fear has begun to pass through certain individuals with privileged information. There seems to be a rumor on the wind, whispers of a newborn seer, to be specific. They have seen but a glimpse what the future holds, and it has yet to unfold. It is not known who this new menace is or where they might be. All that can be confirmed is the date of their birth, the night the prophecy was told, dating back about seventeen years ago. Seeing as it is a minor in question, the Ministry has already taken a cautious step and spoken with the staff at Hogwarts. But secrets were never meant to be kept, and there is a rising fear in the parents that another Dark Lord might appear, and they remember the last all too well.

However, the recent revelation of this prophecy is nearly contradicted by another. This other prophecy states just opposite. But could there be something ill about it? The second prophecy that has leaked was from an elderly witch, claiming that the world has proved itself against this threat, that no matter how much those who once followed evil try, they will not succeed. The witch said that whenever the stability of the wizarding world has been under attack, there has always been at least one among them who rose to meet it. Only by disregarding the love of power and embracing the power of love would the world finally know true peace. Unfortunately, this witch was quoted only once before she met an untimely death. None of this has not been released to anyone that is not working directly with the Ministry of Magic. Those outside of the Ministry who are aware of her fate are doing all they can to keep it quiet. The question is: why?

Those who have heard talk of the prophecy are confused and wonder what is going to happen next. They hope that under the protection of the Ministry they will be safe. The Ministry of itself has made changes, bringing in those who worked with the Order of the Phoenix. These members of the Ministry meet in a familiar term called a Wizards Council. The council is comprised of both those who work in the Ministry and the better experienced of the wizarding world. This group is made up of interchangeable people, with no more than twenty at any meeting, at any time. This elite group is made up of Aurors, professors, and politicians alike. The meetings are formed and planned by Harry Potter (The Auror Office Head) by blessing of the Ministry of Magic minister Kingsley Shacklebolt. Those also set to organize these meetings are Aurors Ron and Hermione Weasley (Department of Magical Law Enforcement). These three have been charged to make sure the wizarding world is safe. Once they meet with the Council, they report this to the Wizengamot, who evaluates what they think should be done, and then the Ministry acts on it. As of now, the members of the Wizards council are trying to meet and decide what is to be done of this new prophecy.

What has truly happened in this magical world? Can the rumors be true that say the Dark Lord and his followers have just been biding their time, waiting, planning, and preparing for the day when the world has become complacent again, when they will have the chance to strike and stand up again. Has this last twenty years made the wizarding world seem too safe? The whispers and actions of the wizarding world give a wry reaction to this all. Some believe that the Ministry is still not as uncorrupt as the Minister of Magic likes to think. Others think that they have been holding information from the public. Some say that they will be safe, even if the prophecy is true. But what is it you believe? The world around us is changing again. Something is brewing, and once it starts, there is no stopping.

There’s only one thing everyone certainly knows, though most do all in their power just to forget. And that has been the true scale of the terrible events that have occurred over the last four decades. Many have refused to acknowledge what it was like in those days of constant fear and terror. It is too painful to remember all of the death and destruction, the countless tragedies wrought by the Dark Lord’s manipulation. What they really don’t want to discuss is how vulnerable they still are---how there is no way to protect themselves from a reoccurrence. Perhaps Voldemort is gone, but for every tyrant there is another all too eager to fill his predecessor’s place. But how long can the world stay in denial until they must confront this darkness?

Now, however, a new generation of witches and wizards have come forth to learn in the sacred halls of Hogwarts. As always, this new year will be filled with spells, curses, friendship, rivalries, and romance. It is stressful to be a student trying to deal with all of this whilst worrying about the dreaded OWLS and NEWTS.

On the surface, the bustling world around doesn't seem to have had much effect Hogwarts. But, at the same time, it is everywhere in the walls. The students have heard rumblings about this prophecy, and those who have connections know almost as much as those in the Ministry. What of this? Students have started to say that Death Eaters are really among themselves, some have even claimed to be in cohorts with the evil plans that are brewing. With this being said, other students who support the Ministry have stated their beliefs as well, and it seems that the school is slowly growing into divisions again. But be careful, you never know who you might upset the wrong way, or what they might do in return.

This is an advanced literate roleplay, but we expect quality over quantity. If you just can't think of much to write for your post, then just write what you can. Remember, sometimes less is more, and nobody likes filler. Not that we're trying to discourage long posts---write to your heart's content. But don't sweat it if it isn't perfect. One more thing: try to make sure you have at least three paragraphs. Just enough material to make sure whoever you're interacting with has something to work with.

Everybody has a life, and no one can be online 24/7, nor should they be. But if you're going to apply for this roleplay, please remember that we expect one post a week. Again, extenuating circumstances (like those blasted midterms) may excuse you from posting. We'd like to keep the ball rolling, though, so try not to drop it. Stalled roleplays can all too easily become dead roleplays.

As for your characters, it goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway: no Mary Sues or Gary Stus! Your characters are human, and adolescents at that. They are not perfect, they are not invincible, not everyone is going to get to be a parseltongue or a metamorphmagus. Such abilities are available, but you'll have to clear it with both Petite Hibou and Your Ophelia first.

Also, don't make your characters direct relatives from those in the books. A lot of the pureblood families are related, so it's fine if the Malfoy's or the Weasley's are very distant cousins, but we aren't dragging them into the story. Not yet, anyway.

People make your post layouts and profiles pretty. We like to see lovely posts, not blinding colors and distorted pictures. Take a look here & Here for ideas of how your layouts should look. The first week of class has nearly finished! After lunch the great hall will start off the years first duel of dueling club. On top of clubs and classes starting, this first week has proven to be promising.

This weekend holds a hogsmeade trip after required saturday morning dance lessons. Begining promptly at 8:00 am 4/5 years will begin with professor Nairobi and Gilliun. 6/7 year will start at 9:00 am with Professor Ingrid and Professor Stratinburge. All those wishing to attend must be at the lessons. Any years under 4th are not permitted to the dance, due to students from the transfer schools are not any younger than fourth years. After the lessons students are permitted to go to town.

Sunday September 13th

This cloudy sunday is the first day that students will set foot on campus for the year. The students are all making their way to platform nine and three quarters for the afternoon voyage to Hogwarts. Many feelings are felt on this day from excited, to fearful.

The short and slightly uneventful train ride began by groups of students gathering and talking, and the diversity of students was slightly baffling. Slytherin DIMITRI spoke with Hufflepuff VICTOR for quite a long time with out anyone being hexed while in other compartments NICOLEand NICOLAS conversed. Rumor has it there were even a few slytherin's in that compartment! In other sides of the train, well outside of it a confused ELLIOTT and MICHAELA missed the train, causing them to fly on their brooms behind the train. It delayed slightly by picking up the two, but at least they made their way to Hogwarts!

In the great hall eager first years were sorted and the feast started with a quick bitter trick by DIMITRI, causing the slytherin table much joy towards the unknowing first year Hufflepuffs. A sly and tricky AMÈLIE started the year by her own prank, creating a new persona that the slytherin table calls Brianna. The childhood friends bantered between each other and the ravenclaws new personality while KIM approached her usual charming self. A curiosity of DAMIEN was solved when he approached being his usual self. DIMITRI becoming agitated with this, dismissed himself from the table in a huff. KIM and DAMIEN followed suit, while AMÈLIE dismissed herself from the hall.

In the mean time ELLIOTT and MICHAELA were both deducted points for their lateness, being sent on their way. At the gryffindor table KADE and ALEXANDER approached the blonde with the usual chatter of the first day. ELLIOTT is concerned by the prophet news, and ROSE interjects for a moment, with a quarry of missing papers. Before the three could reply, she retrieved them and was on her way. In the hufflepuff common room VICTOR and ALEKSANDER begin a discussion about quidditch despite Alek's attempts for sleep he is side tracked by the topic. Transitioning into small talk Aleksander ponders, what really is a hufflepuff? There answer is not found, but ROSE is. The young woman stumbled and the two happened to come to her rescue.

RAINER has the misfortune of bumping into someone, no one ever loves that, do they? She rammed into none other than ELIAS who slyly picked on her. The two's conversation is cut short by footsteps and a frantic RAINER pulls ELIAS into a near by classroom to keep out of trouble, but will that just cause more trouble for the two?

Professors Micheal Stratinburge and William Clasp run this in class and out of class club. Once a month this club schedule's a school duel where students show other students what they have learned. This is a seminar which is usually held a day in the third week of every month. Students not in the club are expected to take notes and learn from not only the students examples but Professor Thomas Gilliun brings his older year classes to observe and often speaks at these meetings. He reviews and explains things that might not be explained in classes, usually dealing with potential information going on in the news. Granted as Hogwarts is suppose to promote a save, yet stable environment, things are kept to a basic to keep students from potentially panicking.

This club has been done at the school for ages, and it is getting more and more evolved that a lot of students think of it nearly as competitive as quidditch. It it ranked and students can even win from doing extraordinarily well in duels.
