౦ ▌WHAT IS THEIR BACKGROUND LIKE?
The life of Thomas Robert Queen written by, well, the man of the hour himself.

From a young age it was decided that whether or not greatness came to him, as it had his pops, he had to at least have a perfectly sound foundation making him capable of protecting himself. When at least one of your parents were part of a team of heroes it made you, their child, a sitting target sought to be used as leverage by their enemies. So when Legion Academy opened in Metropolis when he was six there was a discussion about sending him there, despite being so young, but his mother wouldn't hear it. She pretty much threatened to hack into the academy's secured computers if Oliver even tried to enroll their son. That left but one choice... the Green Arrow would have to train the kid himself.

In the beginning, Thomas thought it was the coolest thing. Being trained to kick some serious a** while all the other kids were learning their ABCs and how to properly read. Okay so he was learning that too but he was learning how to incapacitate a grown a** man and hack into small fry government databases. While he wasn't skilled enough to go on missions with the big boys he stayed behind with his mother, Overwatch, who taught him almost all there was to know about computer coding and—where were we. Oh right, enjoying bonding with his old man through throwing punches and target practice. That all lasted until he reached his eleventh year. After a few months following being deemed ready to join team arrow in the field, he began to miss the old days of staying behind with his mother but bit his tongue and rode things out. Once he reached his thirteenth year he decided 'to hell with it' and hung up his mask, hood, and bow for another life. Oliver Queen hadn't taken that well and asked him if he was going to allow himself to fail the city by turning his back on it during a time of need. Save the city. Fail the city. It was always about the city. ******** the city.

For the next few years, little Tommy boy decided to focus on numero uno. Everything from hanging with friends, going to parties, drinking underage. He had the rebellious stage that the majority of teenagers went through kicking it into overdrive to make up for lost time and shove it in his father's face. There was one night, in order to gain the fickle affections of a pretty little thing, he hacking into A.R.G.U.S.'s mainframe utilizing the skills his dear mom taught him for something so petty as impressing the girl. Thomas clearly hadn't thought anything of sending a flight order for one of the drones to come to fly to their location, not that there may be some form of low-jack on the thing, so when he found agents waiting for him along with his parents at home when he got back that night he knew he'd screwed up. Needless to say, he was in the dog house for a while under constant watch by his parents or the friends of their family who were family without the blood ties to bind them. As stubborn and prideful as his pops he never got the opportunity to apologize to them for his taking the drone for a spin or his rebellious teen years before going off to college somewhere away from the city he'd begun to detest.

It was during his sophomore year, supposedly doing something productive with his life when he got the call from his mother. She told him that he had been targeted, by members of Maleficus, and that the Green Arrow was no longer amongst the living. Thomas knows now the reason he didn't lose it then and there was because that was surreal to him; the Green Arrow dead, ha! However, that view changed the moment he returned to his childhood home and found his mother missing. Believing she had to be at the base he went to check only to find it in absolute ruin. The base of operations they'd once taken pride in was now a deathtrap where numerous things tried to fall on or impale him but he made it through a little banged up and found the woman who had given birth to him in a state he never wished to see befall her. There she lay lifeless, her body twisted and bloodied, with her hair once sleek blonde hair matted and covered in splotches stained red with her blood scattered everywhere except the ends. The part that had been keeping him together was knowing she was alive, that she'd survived there was a chance his father had, only she really hadn't and were he the Green Arrow would never let something like that happen.

Thomas Queen seemingly lost himself there for a few months to the pain and rage he felt reaching a boiling point. After salvaging what he could from the Green Arrow's lair he set things into motion that would allow him to go on a hunt for the members of Maleficus in order to find those involved in the deaths of his family; all of them. He wanted to see blood spilled over the pavement and life leave the eyes of those at fault and however many were necessary to pay the toll Maleficus had racked up with his loss. Then the night he suited up as the Green Arrow someone, who either knew his father or was connected to someone who had, managed to catch him before he did something irreversibly idiotic and talk him down from it. After a while, he saw the truth in their words and stripped himself of the fallen hero's suit for his own civilian look for a while. During the next few years, he bid his time... while venting little frustration with the new name he created for himself. As the Golden Archer, he raised from the shadows, but unlike the Green Arrow, he wasn't there to save the city. He could careless of the city that cost him his entire family. No, he did what he wanted to. He took what he wanted to and gave it to whom he wanted. Thomas answered only to himself unless someone came to him with an offer he simply couldn't refuse. As for saving the innocents, ha! What innocents. They watched as the heroes of yesterday fell one by one. That didn't mean he completely turned his back... not on the humans who really couldn't help it. But the metas and aliens who just sat back, ******** them. Perhaps there will come a day somewhere way down the road he's ready to put away the Golden Archer and step forth as the Green Arrow and do something right for mankind. Until then... he'll just keep making his father roll in is grave wherever his body may actually lie.

౦ ▌WHAT IS THEIR BACKGROUND LIKE?
It is very difficult to mark in time the precise moment a person switches sides. It can be a choice, it can be the influence of a loved one or just a simple, random biped creature speaking the wrong words at the right time. Or it can just overall be the result of a string of bad and inappropriate decisions. Shara had not always been evil, or bad. In fact, when she was brought into existence her parents had high hopes for their little girl. The two of them have always had a high regard for Superman and his desire to protect those incapable of doing it and although their chance of being heroes never came they hoped their child would fulfill their dream.It was a childish hope to want your prodigy to enter history and yet they never saw it as such, especially considering her roots.

Shara's father was none other than the only son of Dru-Zod, he had been taught to hate and to conquer and be able one day to rule an entire nation. His dreams, unfortunately, were not of power but of peace and his overall perspective attracted great disappointment from the general. When he married and was gifted with a lovely daughter he wanted for her not to share the same convictions as the old man. He wanted the best for her. For this reason, he ran away and put as much distance as possible between him and Dru-Zod.

And so, starting from the very first step she took by herself Shara was pushed from behind to strive for the best. Hours and hours of lessons, trainings and meetings with various mentors were forced upon her and in the beginning she was quite excited with the prospect of being a hero. She was looking forward to seeing her family’s sigil on her chest and to hear people cheer for her. However, the life of a hero was not one of fairytale and for those humans no one could even come close to Superman. She had spent quite a while studying them and it did not require a shamefully high IQ to see that their admiration would always be short-lasted. One mistake and those animals forgot that superhuman did contain the word human. She was disappointed.

Soon enough her parents verbalized their intention to have her sent at a special school for her kind. It would be good for her, they said. It would help create a good image for them as well. They never once considered asking for Shara’s approval. On the day of admittance the girl decided to go through with it for the sake of the people who raised her up. The first couple of months were quite tranquil, she was actually beginning to fit in and make a few friends here and there. Not many, just a couple of girls who appeared in possession of a suitable level of intelligence and class. But her happiness did not last long. Her roots were slowly catching up with her. The other students were beginning to show signs of judgement in regards to her family. They claimed sooner or later Zod's genes would manifest in her. She was constantly asked in mockery if she ever planned on conquering Earth and was named the queen of nothing. Shara's attempt of fulfilling her family's desires were thrown out the window when these wannabe heroes decided it was best to anger the general's daughter rather than try to get along with her.

Meanwhile, her father was beginning to become paranoid with their current home. He knew not for how long this earth would be safe for his family. He arrived to a drastic decision and began digging around for information about kryptonite. Some of his contacts claimed they had sufficient stash to arrange him for a lifetime. By no means was his purpose to destroy the other kryptons but to be able to protect himself and his family from them should something happen. However, his gestures were interpreted as a direct attack and before he could explain his actions both him and his wife were surrounded by the special forces. The couple tried running and their evasion ended with them thrown in a special jail.

This destroyed Shara who decided to ditch school, going on her own adventures, siding wih the wrong people for all the wrong things. Sometime down the line a certain hero extended a helping hand and asisted her in releasing her parents. From then on she spent all of her time with the Chrysalis, aiding them to the best of her abilities. Of course, she is not fully reformed and now and then leaves to have some alone time. While she wants to aid the young heroes she has no intention of going head to head with Maleficus itself. She fears it might hurt those she cares about.

Siegmund can easily be described as a delightful, but clueless moron. As a person, he's fairly pleasant, bearing simple pleasures with his simple mind set. He is a man of instincts who eats when he's hungry and sleeps when he's tired. Siegmund would rather play than work, a notable trait of him being extremely lazy and procrastinating when it comes to things he needs to do as opposed to things he wants to do. He has no interest to learn things by the book because he doesn't care for things like that, but also because he can't read very well. Despite his rather idiotic ways, he possesses an extremely curious mind, almost child-like in demeanor though often fails to retain information he doesn't find fascinating enough to remember.

While no one would claim he's intelligent, he does possess an inhuman amount of natural instincts and acute intuition that rivals natural prodigies. This innate capability ranges through a multitude of things allowing him to quickly asset dangerous situations, predict movements in a fight, or allow him to quickly harness a learned skill. This survival instinct allowed him to be independent, and tends to dislike the lack of freedom normal social behavior demands. All these come from his innate power of instincts; not only as an Atlantean, but also because he's extremely attuned with The Clear, embodying its very spirit even if he doesn't realize it himself.


౦ ▌WHAT IS THEIR BACKGROUND LIKE?
Atlantis is a proud continent and would never bow down to any enemy, much less any surface dwellers so when the Maleficus began their global conquest, Atlantis was there to resist. The conflict was intense with many losses on both sides. Many coups were carried out including many members of the royal family. A young boy was among the believed casualties, old enough to fight, but too young to combat against the might of the enemy. He was knocked unconscious in the battle, and left for dead among the ruins.

The young boy would've perish probably, if not for the Tritonians. Their mistrust of the surface world made them hide away from the conflict above. A family of Tritonians found the boy, and brought him back to Tritonis, caring for the boy who had lost everything, in more ways than one could imagine. When he awoken from his slumber, he suffered from massive amnesia. He was unable to recall specific details of the battle, or even remember his own name, let alone who his family was. He didn't know what transpired in Atlantis, only knowing that a great battle was fought. It seemed his memories were lost forever.

The boy remained with the family, happily accepting his new life and renamed Siegmund. Despite his love for his family, Siegmund also held a great fascination to the world above the surf. The city of Tritonis had cut off ties with those above, and new law had forbade any contact with them and their foolish cousins in Poseidonis. Even though his new family followed such laws, he himself couldn't deter. He made his way to the surface, and found a world unlike any he could ever imagine, both to his pleasure and his disappointment. He saw a world of strife, filled with endless conflict and a sense of restlessness. Yet, among the chaos, treasures were abound in technology and human craftsmanship that drew the young boy's interest. He frequented the world above, collecting human treasures that drew his interests (Which was many).

Of course, his choice to go to the surface had its consequences. When he returned to tell his family of the surface world, the city greeted him with hostility. He was captured, and the king of Tritonis ordered his execution, in hopes to keep the location of the city hidden as well as make an example to his subjects of those who defied him. On the night of his execution, Siegmund escaped with the help of his family, but was exiled from the city, told to never return. And with no where to go and no one to turn to in the world, Siegmund sadly came to the surface world, unwanted by the denizens of the ocean. Since then, he remained in exile, living close to the shores and found himself on an everlasting hunt for surfaces treasures, even if he knew nothing about human laws nor the true conflict that happens every single day.

౦ ▌WHAT IS THEIR BACKGROUND LIKE?
Miriam had grown up with a regular lifestyle and your stereotypical family; her mother was a nurse and her father an aspiring businessman. Your average run of the mill middle class family struggling day by day just to pay the bills. Miriam had always been a rather happy young girl growing up, her parents always did what they could to spoil their little girl and she often had new clothes and ate well; causing her to be a bit of a chub as a kid. Miriam was blessed with plenty of toys to play with and the latest video games to keep herself occupied after her homework. Miriam, just like her parents is a metahuman and as she came of age, things around the house began to happen. Shadows moved about the walls, sometimes black tendrils would slither out of the shadows or it seemed that sometimes they were moving around on their own. These things spooked Miriam when they had begun to happen and neither of her parent’s abilities was similar to her own and so despite being proud that their daughter was growing in to her abilities; there was nothing much they could do to help her. Little by little, things started to get worse in the household and while Miriam gained some semblance of ‘control; if it could even be called that it came with a price. Long, sleepless nights where to be had for their daughter, getting out of bed in the morning became difficult and her moods fluctuated greatly, making her sensitive to the smallest bit of negative stimuli. It came to a point where Miriam was too scared to do or say anything to others on her own without someone doing it for her, frequently requesting from her parents to ‘do something’ or ‘tell them’ something for her. Safe to say, Miriam had become a clingy child and one many would have considered a cry baby.

This perpetual anxiety hadn’t budged as she aged and instead only dug it’s roots deeper in to her psyche. Making friends was always rather difficult, in fact it was downright terrifying to approach people and the few that she did warm up to didn’t stick around for long. Once they realised the moving shadows in the dark and the uncontrolled bursts of her power, she was deemed too dangerous by many parents for their child to be around and so; was isolated. As much as it had hurt, Miriam felt safe alone away from the others and frequently made up excuses to avoid going to school; such as a sore stomach or even force herself to vomit to get out of it. This perpetuated in to other things, and growing up as a chubby kid began to eat less and less even when she had reached high school and fell in to a rather unsavoury group of kids.

These kids were some of the first she considered to be real friends even if she had become a delinquent in the process of discovering said friendship. In their circle, Miriam was bottom of the barrel in terms of hierarchy in the group; she fetched their books, binders, and pencils and even carried their things when requested. To Miriam, this is what friendship was, even if sometimes it became hurtful. After years of dealing with her own anxiety, it was easy to bury that pain and anger away and imagine like it was never there to begin with. One of her favourite things, despite being uncomfortable in the dark would be to sneak out and spend her time with them, vandalizing property, roaming the streets or even sitting in the bushes or in the back yard smoking weed or taking the occasional xanax was one of their passed times. However, the drugs had some negative repercussions on her anxiety and often her trips went south, making it worse than it needed to be. Frequently she would be teased among her little circle for being a scaredy cat, a loser and ridiculed for being afraid to break some of the rules. When pushed too far however, things tended to go wrong when Miriam lost control. While sporadic, Miriam’s powers often ravaged out of control; generally at home in her room free of the pressures of school and friends where she could let it all out and cry.

Just like all glasses though, when the water reached the top and the water continued to flow; it all came running out of the top of the glass. The day her glass had overflowed would be the last day Miriam would ever spend at a regular high school and would be the last day she would ever see those people she called her ‘friends’. Having bottled away so much of her own emotions, the teasing had gone too far. It had happened in computer sciences when Miriam sat down to work on one of her assignments, tucked away in the corner to avoid the rest of the class. Cornered by her friends who had chosen to sit with her, they continued with their usual games and teasing. Miriam was in no mood for their behaviour and had become increasingly more fed up with each passing day with the way they treated her. She knew she was odd, she knew she had problems but rubbing it in to her face at every turn certainly didn’t help her situation. Staring down at the keyboard as she listened to them berate for every tiny little thing, a peculiar word had slipped from the lips of one of kids “Freak”, through her ringing, muffled ears this was the only word she had registered. The lights flickered when she turned her cold eyes on to them, a darkness filling the room as it exited from her person; red eyes glowing through the darkness that enveloped the class.

No one knew exactly what had happened in that room save for Miriam herself and it was something she never spoke about and never would. Through the darkness were the horrified screams of the students and the sounds of heavy objects breaking and being tossed around accompanied them in a wild destructive symphony. The darkness had only ceased when Miriam, through her own sobs and tears managed to pitifully get some sort of control over it; a black ball enveloping the cowering girl and tendrils lashing out at anyone courageous enough to get near. The computer room was destroyed and her parents had to be called to come and get some semblance of control over their daughter. It was a long day needless to say and with lots of screaming and fighting among the adults while Miriam was kept locked away in an empty room, she had been expelled from her school.

It was hardly a week before Miriam’s clothes and a few trinkets had been packed, her parents had decided to send her away in to hiding after digging around for a safe place for their daughter to live. Her parents had managed to find her a little safe haven for Miriam, while they did not know the name they knew that this was for the best lest they would have to hand their daughter in to the authorities. While Miriam didn't want to go, she packed her belongings and a teddy bear and as much as she fought them on going she knew she had no choice but to go. After all, her begging and pleading had fallen on deaf ears.

After joining Chrysalis, Miriam found herself mentored by one of the few remaining heroes; Raven, a woman whose abilities were not all that different from her own before she too fell victim to the mysterious disappearances. While she had finally managed to gain control over her powers to some degree, from time to time the many sides of herself she kept locked away reared their ugly head and control would be lost. There were hardly any friends to be made here and Miriam chose for the most part to keep to herself, hiding away in her provided bedroom and avoiding social gatherings unless someone physically forced her in to going.

Nevertheless, Chrysalis was her home and her home it would stay.

౦ ▌HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THEM?
Daniel is a man in constant conflict with his own instinctual nature, which manifests itself within his mind as the ever-tempting Beast. He is terrified of giving in and forces people away from himself not because he doesn't want to be with them but because he doesn't want to hurt them by accident. He is a social recluse both in nature and in society as he is more than any other person around him. A Kryptonian or an Atlantean can pass for a human, and a Tamaranean or a Martian will be stared at but they will be accepted. He does not view himself as capable of doing that and his personality is a mess of a young man desperately trying to reach out but also slapping his own hand away. He wants to be a hero, someone that people can look up to and be proud of, but he's terrified of the step of entering the light. Initially around other people he is shy, nervous and wary to the point that it's more like he's stalking them as prey than two people together. His true personality is a man proud of who he is but deeply ashamed of what he is, his bravado and style are masks to hide a deeply fractured psyche of an abused child who was never socialized properly.


౦ ▌WHAT IS THEIR BACKGROUND LIKE?
DIO is the son of a geneticist and a paleontologist and was a failed experiment in his father's attempts at creating a more perfect human being. Emotionally and physically abused, Daniel spent the formative years of his life in a makeshift lab ward to be monitored and prodded like some kind of labrat. While bearing no physical scars thanks to his scaled exterior, his mind is deeply fractured between the young man who longs to be accepted amongst his peers and with that of a rabid animal. He hates, with extreme passion, WHAT he is but not who. At the age of ten Danny snapped and slaughtered the lab's staff including his father. Realizing shortly afterwards what he had done the boy fled and lived in solitude for the rest of his life... until now. Now he has heard rumors of an organization called Chrysalis and is intrigued but suspicious.


An assistant thought it would be a good laugh to show him Jurassic Park and that ended badly. The boy didn't see 'Oh cool dinosaurs", he saw himself. He saw monsters made by scientists as a fun joke. He sympathized with the T-Rex and rooted for his distant relatives as they stalked the kitchen for the kids. So one day he left the safety of the abandoned building and rejoined the world. He took on the label he had been given and decided that he would not become the man his father had been. Now it's up to him to see that through, but one wonders if an animal can ever actually change. Instincts are hard to overcome after all, especially when they've been waiting for over one hundred and twenty million years
