Victoria Voltaire is a child of nobility, and in being so generally gets everything she wants. She is an intelligent, honest young girl who lives with her older brother in downtown London. For being a young girl, Victoria is very opinionated. She is restless, however and like most children her age, is not very interested in education at the moment. Victoria likes nothing more than an eventful day and fully believes that one day she will be the heroine of her very own story.

Her parents are deceased, father taken by a tragic coach accident, and her own mother by ingestion of poison just months later. Needless to say, she has endured a lot. But her own perseverance and the helping hand of her well-off brother has led her to being a generally well-balanced yet kooky girl.

Vincent is a piece of work, to say that least. He grew up with his father after his mother died giving birth to him, and taught the ways of society. Even as a child, he thrived in that environment, everyone around him found him fascinating, an enticing poison. He was certainly sought after by all the families that knew his, but he never found an interest in any of the women that approached him. He wanted something more than the pale mask of his own world. And he continues to search for it.

He spent five years abroad on the sea from the age of 14, and he returned to discover that his father had developed a sickness of some kind. Striving to take care of him, he stayed in the Voltaire mansion until his father's death. A tragic accident in which the man, in a fit of hallucinations, took off in a coach and crashed to his death a couple of hours afterwards. This was not positive to the family's image, and many people began to say that it was Vincent himself that caused his father's death. The now head of the family's knowledge and interest in medicinal draughts as well as poisons was not a secret to anyone. Vincent, however, was not one to be discouraged by these rumors. He continued to show his face in public after his father's funeral and to attend the parties he loved so much. Soon, he rumors mostly faded away.

A couple of months afterwards, a letter reached him and as he read the rough scrawls inked on the frayed paper, he discovered that his father had another child with a woman of poor notoriety in lower London. She was 8 years of age and now living in the temporary care of her uncle, the letter contained a request that he take the girl into his care.

Intrigued, Vincent went to them, and found himself enamored with the young girl. He took her with him at once, naming her his dependent.

Victoria has stayed with Vincent ever since, and they are practically inseparable. Vincent looks to make her a proper lady and to teach her etiquette, but he has found it very difficult.

Since his father's death, Vincent has studying to be a doctor.

{ Outfit } Open to artist interpretation. But probably a tuxedo or something to that extent. Think "Old London Society".

Lalita is a play on the Gothic stereotype in horror movies and novels, she was created for a novel that I am writing, and despite the fact that she's supposed to be a sort of satirical character, I am very fond of her. She definitely acts the part of the Gothic stereotype, so no one get offended or take anything about her too seriously, okay?

Lalita Lyndenburgh comes from a very rich family, it is rumored that her father invented a new, longer lasting sort of battery that is used by the government. Her mother makes aerobics videos and is very popular. Living in a small town in the New England part of America, she has lead a very sheltered sort of existence, obsessed with the occult, vampires, and all things gothic-like, she's just another one of your average teenage stereotypes. Always gloomy, you can usually find her hanging out in the graveyard.

One day while writing in the cemetery, she comes across a gravestone that captures her interest, no one can say what it is about the young, apparently tragic man's gravestone that intrigues her so. But whatever it is, Dorrian Dreary becomes a quick obsession. It starts with breaking into a mortuary to steal a file on his unsolved death, when she glances at the pictures of the body in the file, it is love at first sight. The handsome, albeit dead, young man died of causes yet unknown, but seemed to be connected with a mysterious illness he suffered, the symptoms of which were much like a vampire. Sensitivity to light, elongated canines, pale, pale skin. The obsession soon furthers when she learns that Dorrian has no family, and that he was very rich. His home and belongings were seized by the government, but have not yet been sold, and remain intact and untouched in his mansion on the bay. She enlists the help of her videogame obsessed friend, Otto Oddman, and her weak and feeble minded slave, Seymour Simpleton, and breaks into the mansion.
Inside she gathers what she can of his belongings to keep near her, and discovers a frightening secret. Dorrian was a mass murderer, who kept his victims bodies stowed away in secret underground tunnels below his house! While this would frighten the ordinary person, it intrigues Lali further, and she thinks Dorrian couldn't get any more perfect. Drawn to him more than ever, she digs up his grave and takes his hand with her.

This obsession finally comes to it's fullest, when an asteroid hits the graveyard in her town, and the dead start coming back to life. Lali discovers that Dorrian's hand is moving around her room, and immediately resolves to brave the flesh eating zombies running around and dig up her beloved for good. She succeeds, and after a brief struggle with the desire to consume her flesh, Dorrian realizes he is in love with the pretty human teenager too.

It should be noted that Lali is definitely a cat person. She has a tiger-striped kitty named Hoax, and a gray cat named Jinx, but her favorite and by far the closest to her, is her black, witch cat named Mortis, affectionately called Morty.

{ Personality } A bit nervous and twitchy, a gloomy but romantic poet, driven by the desire to consume living human flesh

Born to a wealthy family, Dorrian was always a very sickly boy. A scholar from the beginning, he threw himself headlong into his lessons. Fascinated with the morbid and dreadful, he thought himself another Edgar Allen Poe {although his writing was horrible and made everyone that read it want to be sick}, he was fond of attending poetry readings, and hanging around cafes, and other such activities. Dorrian was an only child, misunderstood by his parents who died at an early age and left Dorrian their fortune. He spent most of it acquiring a very large library and getting some of his works published, not that they ever really sold.

He spent most of his life alone, cooped up and unable to go outdoors until sunset because of an illness he'd suffered since birth. His illness is still a medical mystery and made him a lot like a vampire, which caused the girls around him to swoon. With his elongated canines, and porcelain flesh, he was very beautiful and acquired many worshipers. Unable to deal with the obsessive fangirls and boys following him around and sneaking into his house comparing him to Lestat, he became a deranged serial killer and began brutally murdering anyone foolish enough to get near him. He kept the bodies, treating them like morbid dollies, and soon he had to build underground tunnels to keep them in.

When he died of mysterious causes, even dead he managed to attract the attention of a female, Lalita. Eventually because of a well-timed, and remarkably conveniently aimed asteroid that apparently was radioactive or something, he is resurrected and becomes one of the living dead.

Raised by a pack of cats after his mother abandoned him, it wasn't long before CatBoy began to long for society. He was taken in by Shabby Meadows Orphanage, and all hope seemed lost for CatBoy to be adopted by a family that really wanted him. He kept his hopes up though, studying hard to learn to read and write. One year, just before Christmas, he got a wonderful surprise. There was to be a charity event, Gaians everywhere were going to pitch in and help make all of the little Shabby Meadows children adoptable. CatBoy was ecstatic, but very nervous. When Iggly Smiffygans stepped into the office and offered to temporarily adopt an orphan, he knew that this was it. Everything from her purple, curly hair to her cat ears and pirates armor just said she would be a great parent for him. Straightening his hair as best as he could without a comb, and trying to make his cats Emi, Snowdrop, Ginger, and Binkie look presentable; he tried to make himself noticeable.

At first it seemed as if all of his efforts were in vain. Her eyes were trained on the cute, adorable little Halp! Box Kid. How could he possibly compete against him? Tackling a dark-haired, hungry-looking child in front of him, he fought his way to the front of the pack of exhausted, starving, scrawny children and waved his arms at Iggly. The other orphans were doing the same, so it wasn't really all that special, he realized. Halp! Box Kid was making eyes at her, and it was mostly over. Then...then, by some miracle, she looked his way. A little gray kitten pulled at the straps of her boots, and she turned her eyes in his direction. "Hey, kid, is this your cat? Keep it off my boots." And it was love.

She adopted him right away and kept him all the way through Christmas! Returning to the orphanage was torture for the both of them. After a very tearful goodbye, he returned a much better child, ready for true adoption. He shunned family after family that asked for him, wishing that Iggly would come back for him. He missed cocoa by the fireplace in her home, and eating banana splits whenever he wanted to, watching television in the middle of the night, and the way she said, "Arrr," sometimes without realizing it. He even missed Nekobasu and KonekoBasu and Captain Feathersword and Roley, and Twinkie too. And maybe he missed Bee Hound a little. He waited and waited, and time dragged on...then...oh, then, one day...it was ruled that Gaians could adopt orphans!

Overjoyed, CatBoy waited...and he waited, watching as all of his peers were whisked away with the parents that had fallen in love with them, and some of them to be sold in the marketplace for whatever reason...he waited. Just when he thought that Iggly wouldn't come, the doors opened and in she came. Blonde, now, with a green dress and a pink sweater, she opened her arms and into them he ran. Now enrolled in school, CatBoy is a happy member of the Smiffygans household...or pirate...Catbus thing.

Well, I guess anyone that knows me well knows that I'm a writer. So there I was in the middle of a Dario Argento/ Lewis/gore festathon..and the inspiration hit: something for my book of short stories. The basic story line came first, Shaun came later. His character practically wrote for itself, writing about him actually became pretty scary. He was just such a detailed concept that I started to refer to him as a real person, I still do actually. I knew exactly what I wanted from him and what sort of opinions he would have about certain things. It just got to the point where Sarah would be talking about something, and I would say, "I'll bet Shaun would say," and spout off an opinion of his. Anyway, I became super obsessed with him so I decided I would list him under my OCs and collect art of him.

{ Hair } Short, ashy brown, almost a blondish sort of brown, always very tidy and sensible
{ Eyes } Spring Green
{ Other Details } It should be noted that Shaun is pretty tall. I'm talking 6'4" or 6'5". That guy is just towering. Pretty awesome.
{ Type of thing } Human, Serial Killer/Accountant
{ Personality } Serious-minded, creative, almost overly intelligent, and witty; it isn't difficult to like Shaun. He does intimidate the people around him, however, his drive and one-track focus on tasks at hand, coupled with detail orientation, perfectionism, and obsessive-compulsive neatness tend to make him a little frightening. He excels at work and everything that he does, but as a result, doesn't have a lot of friends. He prefers to be a loner though and doesn't feel sorry for himself, he views the human race as a different species, something sort of vile but necessary and sort of pet-like, a bit like bugs. He does pity creatures that he considers underestimated and under appreciated, like cats. He adores cats, and goes so far as to sometimes volunteer at local cat shelters in his spare time. His little Himalayan mix kitten, Annabelle or Annie for short, is his favorite companion, and is probably the only thing he is comfortable showing his outright adoration for to others.

Sensible is the perfect word for him. Everything from his wardrobe to his perfectly manicured self to his four-door family car just radiates 'sensible.' He's literary and well-spoken, having a collection of books that probably makes his local library look bad, he likes soft music usually classical or jazz, and dislikes loud noises as a whole. He does have his share of bad qualities though, as a perfectionist he tends to expect more or less of people than is true for them, and if they should exceed or fail his standards his attitude can take a sharp turn downhill. His view of reality as a separate, disorganized world shows his obvious mental instability, and the stress of his lack of interaction with other people, along with the impossible standards he holds himself and others to puts a severe strain on him. Because of this he occasionally slips into rants and daydreams, present and past, imagination and true events blur in his mind, and he can snap without any warning, and just as quickly find a hold on himself again.
{ Bio } I don't really have everything all worked out in Shaun's past yet. He was raised in upstate New York by his mother and grandparents. His father was murdered when he was very young and he doesn't really remember him. He did very well in school without trying, and his mother pushed him to make something of himself. Despite having a nice enough, middle class childhood, he still showed signs of mental instability at a young age. Two failed suicide attempts landed him in therapy for several months, his mother's health quickly deteriorated during this time, and Shaun blamed himself for her sickness.

He went on to be an accountant for a big-time, successful advertising business in charge of their financial branch in New York City. He spends every Sunday with his mother and takes care of her, allowing her to live on her own by providing her with necessary health care and support. He lives on his own in a neat little house. On Valentine's Day, on his daily walk, Shaun happened through the park and upon someone giving away free kittens. Only one was left and the minute he looked into it's big, blue eyes it was love. He took it home and treasures his darling Annabelle Lee above anything else in his life.

He also likes to torture and kill people in his spare time, usually giving each victim a fairy tale nickname. At some point in his life, after establishing himself in the business world, Shaun began construction on a privately owned piece of land termed for hunting, using a natural cave he turned it into his own little "Cave of Wonders." Inside he built a cell and several other things he considers necessary. He's killed at least ten men and women in the New York area, and though police are investigating his work as a set of serial killings, they remain unaware of Shaun as an individual and he carries on unconcerned with their investigations.

When freelance journalist Natalie Gray starts to connect one too many details and develop an opinionated interest in the killer, Shaun is automatically drawn to her. He collects her articles obsessively and learns details about her life, going so far as to plan out "accidental" brushes of interaction with her. Eventually, and predictably, he took her back to the cave, torturing and nearly killing her. In the end, however, Natalie exceeded his expectations and proved herself to be worthy of living in his eyes, unable to finish what he had started, he let her go.

A year later, he still found himself drawn to the attractive, daring young woman, her near brush with death only making her so much bolder, allowing her to write and market a book on her captivity. He attends a book signing near his office and manages to successfully ask her on a dinner date. As of now she remains unaware of his connection with her captor.
