There is new news!

First of all, Adrien Ludovic Gilles and I are collaborating on Moirana's Antediluvian Palace! This will be Anuket (yes, I really love that item, sorry) in Atlantis with some starry overlays and nice colour block breaks, so that the halter top and the outer portion of the necklace don't have to be the same, the stripes on the chaise can be different colours, and there can be streaks in the hair! We don't have user mocks yet.

As everyone knows by now, Valiska's Twilight Palace was released on the 26th February in the Triple Seasons Lookbook.

It did not do as well as I'd hoped, but I've only heard good things about it.

I've already posted that I got partial mocks on Tessa Thylacine and they are beautiful.

Imperial Valiska (formerly Imperial Huntress Valiska) was approved on the 27th February. I got mocks for it on the 4th March. Unfortunately, the colour placements that were so lovely in Stan's mock were regrettable in the official mock when the entire outfit was put together. Too many gradients in too many light colours = not enough contrast. I asked that the sleeves have the gradient reversed to match the overdress and that the underskirt just be white with seabreeze embroidery/trim and submitted that request on 5th March.

Weirdly, I have not received mocks for Demure Queen Valiska even though it was approved on the 2nd January and is a Winter Dye Ticket.

I'm pretty sure I won't be doing Dye Tickets again. They're not significantly cheaper than Rainbows unless you buy them from the Cash Shop, and they have too many restrictions--namely, you can't use any colours that are not in your colour scheme (hence the blue leaves in Valiska's Palace) and for the regular Dye Tickets, as opposed to the Couture ones, you cannot use any gradients AT ALL.

Also, they always come out in lookbooks and the prices drop too rapidly.

I gotta confess--I do not do tickets for the gold. I know my tastes in items aren't the most popular ones, and I make items so I can have the items I want.

But--

I want the thylacines to be at accessible prices. But I really did hope that my recolours would not deflate rapidly and at least remain over 100B on the first day of sale. I get 25 copies. I keep 5-6 so I can wear the whole outfit and I give some away to friends and supporters.

But if I sell 10; it'd be nice to get 1T off those 10, you know? Given that ticket prices are going up. Adrien and I got lucky to get a DRT for 32T, MRTs are up to 15T (cray-cray! I'm glad I got the two to do thylacine recolours ahead of time.)

GC prices have become so high that I can't afford to buy 75-100 copies of every new RIG and vend my way to 1-2T per week and I don't have time to play that much Lake Kindred. Making some gold off recolours would really help to pay for future ones.

I joined in 2014 so I have no nostalgia for the days when 1M was a lot of gold.

I can't tell you how annoyed I was that people were selling my item for 40B when I still had it at 150. I sold one copy at 300--I didn't expect to sell a lot at that price--but there has never been a usermade Anuket's Palace recolour that went for under 100 on the first day of release before. And I hope there isn't again.

I will be super annoyed if the only one of my items that doesn't deflate like mad on the first day of release is the seabreeze one.

I've seen the mocks and she's adorable. They've based her off several pieces of art that I love, particularly the Gould painting and Sheila Stones and Snake Artist's work. The pup on head pose will melt your heart.

I asked for realistic/pretty, because I think that they were such lovely animals.

I'm a member of that Facebook group, The Thylacine Awareness Group. Always cracks me up when they call the thylacine "Ol'Stripey". But the people in that group are so great.

In my heart I believe they're still out there, and I want to see one before I leave this planet, but if they're found I hope to G-d we treat them right this time. The Paddle book where they examined the primary source accounts of domesticated thylacines is heartbreaking, because the ones who were taken in and treated well were lovely companions and guards.

I can use realistic more than cartoonish, so that works for me super!

Not guaranteed to be able to see one even if they're found unless the numbers get up. Any extinct species we have found to actually be alive several decades after the fact have had their locations kept secret by the scientists so that the animals aren't targeted by poachers and tourists that could damage the environment or the creatures. I believe in tassie tiger sightings about as much as the Blue Mountains panther. It's much more likely to be wild dogs or dingos. And we're relying on rural Queenslanders here. I'd trust them about as far as I could throw them because they're either taking the piss or thick as bricks.
