For some reason my eyes didn't register that post. =P In all actuality, I used to use I.E as my main browser not too long ago myself. When I switched to Firefox, it was as if I was watching the world in black and white and someone gave me 3d glasses to put on. That is just my opinion but, I.E has had (from what I read and experienced myself) a lot of compatibility issues. I.E 8 is the first (as far as I know) of the browsers to actually render a site to "W3C standard". =)

What do you mean when you say you don't have permission to edit that. Could you provide a screenshot of the error along with detailed steps of what you did (clicked, pressed, etc)? As for the code you provided. It is in the wrong format.
The correct format for setting a background is as follows (as it should show on the first page)

Post #8 should deal with x-browser compatibility for I.E issues. Most issues with C.S.S should be on I.E (if you coded it to standard that is) so those should really be the only hacks you need. If you need more then you could find a lot more information on C.S.S hacks for different browsers using google.

I've been trying forever, but for some reason I keep having the same problem:

No matter what I code in my browser, my profile always looks different on monitors that have smaller resolutions. My laptop has a screen that is 1200x800.

Is there any advice for what I can do to help my page look the same on every computer?

Also, can someone take a screenshot of my profile to let me know what it looks like. I was trying to code it so that it shows up okay on all browsers except mine sad
