Thank you ;D This guide helped alot.
*Saves from falling to the dreaded Second Page*
I must have skipped over it, but I didn't see anything on how to change the color of the sections.

Example:

I want to change that bar from blue to black, or make it dissappear completely (along with the white box below it).
How do I do that?
Sorry but you're using a V2 profile, and this guide only supports old school profiles.

Kayley's V2 guide should help: Link
I am a newbie at this, so if anyone can help me with 2 things:

1) Allowed to alter other people themes?

2) If it is allowed, can someone help me out like give me the scheme for the pictures found behind the people avis who comment? Check my profile to see what I mean. Its the photobucket thing found behind anyone who comments.

Familiar Explorer

um ... Viet, I don't understand what number 1 means,
but 2:
if you use #comments .avatar img {background: xxx;} you should be able to change whatever you want.

Hello I'm trying to put up a image that has a transparent background up from my header but everytime I go to put it up the header shifts around inside the frame for the section I want to put it in. Is there any way to get it to shift above that frame with out getting cut off?

If you don't understand I can make screeen shots for you.

Familiar Explorer

*sigh* ... i'm tired of making new threads ... about stuff that is probably else where covered ..

I'm having trouble coloring the links in the header. I have tried putting "color:white;" EVERYWHERE that would affect the links and they are still greyish ...
I made the background white so i would know when they turned white.
I can't even turn them another color ...they are just staying grey.

I can change the li, but not the links... am i missing something somewhere?

fixed it nevermind ... stare

@Da Mega Mega :: Yay. <33 xD

@Cali :: Thankkkksssyooooooooo. <3 heart

@undeadmaudie :: That's V2. This is an old school guide.

@xX_Viet Ti Nuvuong_Xx :: I will absolutely not help you alter a premade theme. xd That just goes against all my profile moral fiber. If the owner/creator allows it, it's all up to them.

@-l Tootlez l- :: Thank youuuuu for helping him.

@DEADpoisonIVY :: ???
Ho snaps second page again.

Ok I have a question, but I'm not really sure how to ask it. It has to do with coding, but it's also from a design point of view.

So I have this background that I made, it's a gradient with a pattern on it. I've been able to get it to tile horizontally but when I tile it vertically it repeat's the top color which is not what I want. When the gradient pattern reaches the final color I want that to keep going down the page but I can't get it to do that. I think the issue may have to do with how I made the background in Photoshop? If you have any way of helping explain how to fix this I would really appreciate it. I've been stuck on this part for days now. x.x; Thank you!

Alright. It's both coding and the design.

You have to make sure you are sampling the right color where the gradient
is supposed to blend with the background color (which should be the end). That's why in photoshop you don't just "cut it off" you have to stretch the image where the solid color is definitely correct.

User Image

In this example, I used a pink base and a blue gradient. You can see that from the
transition to blue to pink makes it purple-ish that's why when I cut the image I made sure
I had the correct base I wanted. I had to make sure the pink wasn't a different shade.

As long as you cut it right, you can make the width as thin as you want.

So in your code it would looking something like this:

body {background-image sad 'URLHERE');background-repeat:repeat-x;background-color:#######;}

##### <--- The pound sign should be changed to the exact hex code sampled from the bottom of your image to ensure the image runs smoothly into the background.

When I save the image should look something like this. Like I said above, it could be thinner.
User Image

Well... it would be smaller. XD
I hope that made sense.

@Cali :: You don't have to bump! It's alright if this thread failz.

@Elegant Death ::

This is Koko on a thread mule. View this profile to see the results.
I messed up with the post above and forgot to add 'url'

body {background-image:url('http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/lil_neko/twoo.jpg')background-repeat:repeat-x;background-color:#D4A49E;}
#site {display:none;}

.... is what you see with his one. 3nodding

Thank you so much for the help Koko! heart I fixed the tail of my gradient now and it seems to be working fine. The code you gave me made something funky happen with my profile after I added my hex code and url. o.o I typed up my own code again and it seemed to work. I'm unsure how it will look on someone else's screen though. I only have a laptop with a 15" monitor so compared to those giant 20"+ screens thing's may look different. I just hope I made the pattern long enough so the stars won't suddenly cut off and look weird. XP
