The air is damp, the sun is splitting the clouds, and white light is dappling the streets of [insert city here]. Oddly enough, this is always the weather in this area. Some say it's a curse, others throw the laws of science and physics around to explain the anomaly. Either way, it's always same; Light and dark, exquisitely mingling to make neutrality. But stark enough to keep their differences apparent.

In the corners of this strangely lit city, through the old marketplace, past the cathedral, down the grey cobbled road, lies a thick misty forest of ancient trees. Stories high with the experience of a millennium, they house and protect a rather odd building. It has a beautiful yet archaic feel. Flowering vines grow up the grotesquely carved walls, white iris' kiss images of hell. While red roses guard carvings of heaven, a perfect balance...You should be alarmed. Above the door is a tarnished silver sign, 'Polk'.

You've seen this building a few times, why you were out so far in the forest is your own reasoning. But it's not new to you.

Today however, simply passing it will not suffice. There's just something different today, something bone chilling, blood curdling. But it's strange, even though you feel a type of fear, you're rather calm, almost tranquil. And you find yourself staring at the door, reaching for the knob, and holding your breath...

Before you can even touch it, the door swings open to reveal a young man, with the most startling features. His eyes are beacons of youthful golden light but his hair is a frightening shade of silver --To think, such a young face with the hair of an old man. He smiles at you rather impishly and welcomes you inside. No use of trying to turn back now...Even if you should...

The strange man offers you a chair and he takes his seat on a couch. "Don't speak, or even begin to fathom what this place is. Just stay calm and open your ears..." You look around and to your surprise, blackness. Only specs of colored light, not even the window which was on the outside of the house...Nothing. "My name is Wittenato, no last name publicly given...It is no coincidence that you just happen to be here today. Truthfully, I don't believe in fate, but for you to approach the door is no accident." He smiled weakly. "But I digress. You have it. Now what 'it' is isn't as important as what you can do with 'it'. And this, my little wanderer is where your life changes. But before I bestow this wondrous gift of information onto you, I have to know one thing. Are you ready?" He tilted his head, which made you shift in your chair. There is something otherworldly about him. Even so, a question like that doesn't leave much room for reasoning, or a even a single thought. It was Yes or No, and to miss a chance like this, although you don't know what the chance really is, would be foolish. You nod yes, and he smiles.

"There are things in this world that can't be explained. It's common knowledge. But what people don't get is that to explain something, you have to understand it, know it. In today's world, people throw around science like it's the answer to everything, but they're wrong. Some things don't abide by mans "Natural laws"...Ghosts, specters, vampires, angels, demons, imps, and all things mythological. They exists you know. Man hasn't come up with these ideas merely on his own, these things are as real as you and I. You just can't see them; However, you must feel them, find them, and call them. You must bring them from their cradles and into this world." He moved some hair from out of his face and smiled once more. "Do you understand?"

You don't answer, but what is about to happen is clear. Maybe you should have answered a bit differently the first time. "Your life is about to change mortal, whether you're ready or not." Wittenato laughs maniacally, then fades into the blackness...

They find shelter in all creation.
From darkness to light.
Whether you live or die,
depends on if you do this right.

Seek them out, go, run!
Call them into this life.
Your actions will determine,
Happiness or strife.

Sign the binding contract!
Blood, Angles tears, or ink.
Be wary of their forms and faces.
It's not always what you think...

Hmm, I think this is good.

Upon meeting Wittenato, many strange things have happened. Objects you often thought as ordinary have caught your eye or disturbed your sense of peace. You've become rather suspicious of common items, and antique stores have suddenly sparked your interest more than normal. Maybe, just maybe, you should take an item back to Wittenato and see what could become of it.

It's dark, and the night air is chilly and sharp. Normally you aren't out at this hour, but Wittenato insisted that you meet him at Polk. How he even got into contact with you is a mystery on it's own, but stranger things have happened...A loud cracking noise tears the silence of the night to pieces, and Wittenato appears in front of you, dressed in a black trench coat. "Hey. Glad you could make it! Wanna do me a favor?" He smiles gently, but the tone of his voice was nothing but trouble. Even so, you nod reluctantly and his face brightens, "Okay! Just take this box and watch the little guy inside for a while. I'll be back in 2 days!" Without much of a warning, a small cardboard box appeared from the black abyss of his coat. He hands it to you, and vanishes in a flash of pale golden light. You look down at the box and sigh, what the hell have you gotten yourself into?
