Well I always pictured it like this, seeings as how the title is Valhalla.

In the beginning there was the void. And the void was called Ginnungagap. What does Ginnungagap mean? Yawning gap, beginning gap, gap with magical potential, mighty gap; these are a few of the educated guesses. xD

Anyway......

Along with the void existed Niflheim the land of fog and ice in the north, and Muspelheim the land of fire in the south.

And so the worlds..........in this order.....

Asgard Realm of the Gods******

Midgard Realm of Mankind****** (So this is like Earth, or gaiaonline, or whatever world you decide the 'rp' would be taking place in. In short, it's Earth. xD And this, I assume would be the current location of the 'temples' etc)

Vanaheim Home of the Vanir****(these are the evil demon...god-type things xD)

Soooo what if these temples were in Midgard? regaurdless of what gods are being worshiped....(Not necissarily Norse, but any of them)

And then there is:

Hel Land of the Dead (uh obviously xD)

Yggdrasil the World Tree (*has some ideas in which this could be used to tie things together*)

And then there's the rest of these....that really aren't as important to our story. At least not yet anyway. xD But they could become areas where people are sent on quests too. neh?^^

Bifrost or the Rainbow Bridge-Every day the Aesir(gods), except for Thor who must wade through rivers instead, are said to travel over Bifrost - also called Asbru, the bridge of the gods - to Urd's well to hold counsel. The bridge is supposed to be covered with flame to keep those who are unworthy from gaining entry into Asgard.

Snorri explains that Bifrost is the rainbow and the red we see in it, the burning flames. He also relates that Heimdall stands watch at the point the bridge reaches heaven(Valhalla)

Regarded as the best of bridges, Bifrost will finally break during Ragnarok when the sons of Muspell led by Surt ride through Mirkwood and cross it.

Grimm recorded a medieval German Christian belief that the rainbow will no longer appear prior to Armageddon which seems to stem from heathen thought. However, there is also some evidence that Bifrost originally referred to the Milky Way.

According to Star Names their Lore and Meaning, the Norse knew the Milky Way as the pathway of ghosts going to Valhalla. The book also discusses the belief of various cultures that the Milky Way was the path burnt in the sky by the sun.

Whether Bifrost was thought of as the rainbow or the Milky Way, it was the path traversed by those going to and from the other world.

Asgard

Comparable to the Greek Mount Olympus, Asgard was the dwelling place of the ruling gods, the Aesir.

Surrounding Asgard was a defensive wall and a forest outside the wall. In some descriptions one of Yggdrasil's roots extended into Asgard and under it, Urd's well. The Norns Urd, Verdandi, and Skuld lived in a hall by the well and the gods were said to have court at the well every day riding there "over Bifrost".

The abode of humans. It means middle earth or middle garden.

(so basically your.....your average Earth. Life as it is...xD)

The home of the Vanir. We are never given a description of Vanaheim or told when or how it was created.

A region of cold.

The abode of the dark elves -- dwarves. It is underground.

Hel
The land of the dead. The way to this realm was through the land of the mountain giants. The connection between this and Niflheim is often confusing. Hel is also the goddess of the underworld.

*flails and tries to find more descriptive things* xD; I just picture this really big tree with access to different dimensions as you walk along it's branches. And these 'warps' if you will, take you to different worlds.

Aaaand, people could go questing or adventuring in those worlds and such. That would make for awesome rp. xD <3

Wow... nice info...
The tree would definately be a challenge. I can't draw trees to save my life. But I'm sure it would be a fun project to do!
So I'll get started on it sometime after the exams end.

Mekky: I'm sorry to hear that... I don't know what specifically happened through out these past few months to make you feel that way. But I just want you to know that I sincerely wish otherwise. If you really do want to leave gaia, then all I can say is good to you in real life! I will definately remember you as a cool friend heart
