badgers are stout, stubborn european animals with a badass attitude and cute little stripes on their faces. badgers need their own B/C shop. so welcome to the interest thread for [meles • meles], an upcoming badger B/C.
things are pretty rough around here still, but we'll be working on getting everything up and running. at this point most of the fundamental bits are still missing - lineart, general shop function stuff, hiring criteria, and et cetera. basically everything. but have no fear! we're working on it.
in the time-being? feel free to toss in your ideas and opinions. we'll keep you updated, and if you hang out here to keep us company and help us out, we will give you badger stuffs once the shop is up and running. maybe even before. oh yeah. you'll get first crack at some sexy sexy badgers.

shop style
[meles • meles] will be a fairly casual shop. RP will not be required, but it will be entirely welcome and certainly not without it's perks. current thinking is there will be three stages. cubs will be available through breedings. adults will be avaliable through flatsales, customs, and all the other methods. a second adult stage, including a new pose and custom line edits/costume, will be available for a cost when artists' slots are open. it may also be won in contests and earned through RP. badger costume style will lean (but not strictly) to a victorian/steampunk style.

staff payment
we'll be hiring colorists, certists and managers. staff payment will be organized through a mule account on a monthly basis. if you're interested in working with us, stick around. we'll start taking colorist applications once we get the lineart and templates in, and manager applications once we get most of the details ironed out.

theme
think steampunk crossed with beatrix potter. not so steampunk there's gears and cogs flying everywhere... but certainly an airship or two! roleplayers will pretty much have the freedom to make whatever they want of it. technology is mostly steam or badger-powered, no electrical shenanigans here.
setting
[meles • meles] will be set in the bustling but otherwise homely town of Gwimbleburry. as all badger residences are, Gwimbleburry is essentially a collection of burrows (called setts). but unlike regular badger setts, these ones come with pretty facades, smoky chimneys, cobbled hillside streets and a multitude of shops and business.
naming
the badgers of Gwimbleburry tend to have traditional english names. that's not to say one can't have an unusual or exotic name, but usually there would be a story behind that. badgers live in extended family groups and do, infact, have last names (also usually traditional english). last names are passed down from a badger mother to her children - so in a breeding a cub's last name will be preset, but if you acquire a gen 1 badger you are free to create the last name yourself.
