The Tektek thing was completely within Gaia's rights, and they had to do what they did because of copyright law. They may have been aware of the site misusing Gaia images for a while; it just takes time for these things to be processed. I'm guessing top staff had to meet with lawyers and so on before proceeding.

As for the Tektek person, they may have just been clueless and are now just learning how copyright things work. You'd be surprised by the level of ignorance people have... just because it's not always intuitive.

edit/ Also their reaction seems to be one of someone not sure what to do and wanting to wrap up things neatly, I don't think it was childish.
