Hello everyone, and welcome to Ikebukuro. Ikebukuro is a residence here in Japan, nestled away among the hustle and bustle of city life--and, to us Free Collars, the fight of our lives.

Legend says that there was once a great Wild Cat. The collar of this cat is sacred to us Free Collars, and it's rumored to be here in Ikebukuro somewhere. The one who possesses this collar will rule the city, and beyond. Funny legend, right? I'm not so sure of it myself, but I do know that within the city limits and further even, there is a constant fight for survival--however, there are some fun things to do around the area, too.

There are days when everything is great and visiting the local Manga shops is great with friends, but there are days in which it’s best to stay inside or you’re going to have to fight for your territory. Either way, at some point or another, you will be challenged for your territory by some rival cat and its group. Most of the time though you get to relax wander your territory and enjoy life.

Sadly all the cats here in Ikebokuro that you'll come across are all Strays, or Abandoned Cats. We don't really encourage the act of humans leaving us to defend for ourselves, but sometimes it can't be helped, but the mass majority of the time it can. Here new territories can be created, merged with others, alliances formed and broken. Search and rescues even a few Rogue Free Collars roam our streets, never fully aligning themselves with a territory.

On these streets we thrive together, kittens are born and raised and families are created, sometimes even broken. But we all in some way hold strong, every cat has their own view of Humans here. Some despise them, others still love them and even there are those who are neutral on the subject, it's all up to the cat here. Your decision is your own.

❝ O1 ❞ Respect the staff and eachother. It's not that hard, right? Everyone deserves respect. If you're caught flaming, lying, scamming or stealing, you will be blacklisted and any and all cats will be taken away. Period.

❝ O1 ❞ All artwork belongs to the shop and the owner. If you steal it, you will be reported. All artwork is firstly owned by the shop, and the rights are given over to the owner when purchased. OCs belong to the owners and cannot be remade or copied.

❝ O2 ❞ We are PG-13 here! Keep it clean. We understand that not everyone is of-age here on Gaia. This is a PG-13 shop, meaning you need to keep cursing, adult situations, nudity and anything else under wraps. You will be held responsible for your actions.

❝ O3 ❞ Do not beg for a pet. We try to make pets available as often as possible. Whining, begging, pity-partying and anything in between is unacceptable. You will not be given a pet if this is the case, and it puts the colorists in an awkward position. This also means you may not bribe an owner for a pet, breeding or otherwise.

❝ O4 ❞ This is for fun! We are here for fun, not for fighting. This is an RP driven place, and with that, means that you need to get to know one another. You may not always like everyone, but as stated above, respect is important.

❝ O5 ❞ Do not godmode. Do not force actions on others. Do not take over another character that isn't yours. Your cat is not 100% amazing and can win any and all battles. Just dont do it.

❝ O6 ❞ IC and OOC are different. But you can still be held responsible for the actions of your cat. But remember, dont throw a fit if someone's pet is mean to yours. The owner could be completely different from their pet.

❝ O7 ❞ RP is required. If you obtain a pet, shove it in your sig, and never come back to RP it, it will not grow. These are RP-intensive pets and they require set amounts of RPs to grow. Once they hit their novice stage, however, they are no long required to be RPed, as that is their final stage. However, there is a special stage that you can obtain as well.

❝ O8 ❞ Obtain only the amount of cats you can RP. This means dont try for every raffle, flatsale and event that you can just to hoard kitties. Remember, they wont grow unless you RP them.

❝ O9 ❞ This shop is no longer a 'unique' lineart shop. This means that we will, from here on out, have bases for all of our pets. Unique one of a kind linearts will be for special occasions only, and will only be part of old pets coming to the new shop.

❝ 1O ❞ There are new stages. Meaning we no longer have veterans. It is newborn >> collars >> newbies >> novices >> masters. However, we will not be revoking your 'master' status if your pet is already a master. Veterans will be changed to masters, though.

❝ Q ❞ I have a cat I reclaimed from one of the previous shops, but I dont have time to RP it! Will it be taken?!
❝ A ❞ No, it will not be taken. We are no longer rehoming cats unless they are offspring of currently active cats that have been given away. This will only happen when the user has said they will not return, or it has been over a certain amount of time. This will also count towards important plot-related cats.

❝ Q ❞ So does that mean the new shop wont be rehoming kitties that have gone inactive as well?
❝ A ❞ No, we are no longer reclaiming and rehoming cats except for offspring and important RP-related plot cats.

❝ Q ❞ So there's no more uniquely lined kitties? Not fair!
❝ A ❞ There will be uniquely lined cats in special events and real life commissions. Otherwise, they will be partially unique, as they will be edited on the new base linearts.

❝ Q ❞ I have a kitty from an old shop! What do I do?
❝ A ❞ There is currently a post on page 2 allowing you to reclaim your old cats. There will also be a post in the guild soon that will allow you to reclaim them as well.

❝ Q ❞ I bought my cat with real money and I want them to grow! Do I still have to RP?
❝ A ❞ Yes, RLC cats still require RP to grow, unless bought at novice stage, which then no longer requires RP. RLC cats will be unique-lined unless otherwise stated.

❝ Q ❞ How big are the cats and anthros versus humans?
❝ A ❞ Click here!

❝ Q ❞ Can they talk?
❝ A ❞ They can talk to other mammals but not humans. Humans still see them as cats, not as anthros.

❝ Q ❞ Do collared cats look like regular cats to others?
❝ A ❞ Humans see ALL cats as CATS. Other cats will see one another as anthros, even collared cats. However, the collars can skew the sight/illusion, so they can also be seen as collared kitties. It is up to the RPer!

❝ Q ❞ Do I have to make a journal?
❝ A ❞ Yes, journals are required here. Grouped journals with a post/page for each kitty would be the best route to go.

❝ Q ❞ Can we direct link?
❝ A ❞ Please save to your own server! Kitties often get moved around in the buckets and renamed depending on the event, so it's important that you save your own kitty!

❝ Q ❞ Do I have to get them certed to be official?
❝ A ❞ No! Certs are not required here, they are just there for those who indeed like getting them certed. your kitty is official once they are posted in the owner's list.

❝ Q ❞ How does the owner's list work?
❝ A ❞ Our owner's list is user run. This means that the owners make a post where they will update their cats. If they are not on the owner's list post, they cannot grow or breed. So keep up with them! This is so staff dont lose a cat, make a mistake, or get lost with rehoming, gifting, etc.

NEWBORN - O - O3 YEARS
COLLARED - O5 - 14 YEARS
NEWBIE - 12 - 19 YEARS
NOVICE - 2O+ YEARS
MASTER - 25+ YEARS

❝ NEWBORN ❞ This stage can only be acquired through breedings. They are infants in the 'human' world. They cannot do much, but personalities are beginning to show! They can babble, roll, crawl and drive their parents' nuts with mewling all they like.

❝ COLLARED ❞ This is the 'kidnapped' kitten stage. They have been picked up by a human and collared. They lived with their human for a while, but many somehow escape, and have now made their way out into the free world... collar and all. As they grow, the collar begins to strain against their neck, and they must fight their way free.

❝ NEWBIE ❞ This is your first stage of uncollared kitty! They are fresh out in the world, abandoned, lost or all around escaped. They have fought off their collar and they have the scar to prove it. Since they're new to the free world of strays, they're a little sloppy in surviving, and haven't quite found their place in life yet. They're looking for a home and a territory at this point, somewhere that's protected. Or, they might choose the rogue life. There's a lot of work to do. This is a high-risk breeding stage and though it's not recommended, they can have kittens, as long as they are aged older.

❝ NOVICE ❞ Your cat has now joined a territory, or established itself as a rogue. This means that it knows the ropes, and knows the secrets of the stray world. It can survive a lot easier now, and probably has some friends--and enemies--to work and deal with. This is a full breeding stage! They are strong enough to care for their kittens and create families. Full breeding rights are available. They can also now run their own territories! This is normally the final stage of your cat, and no longer requires RP, unless you want a chance at the final stage.

❝ MASTER ❞ Your cat is one of the oldest in his/her group by this point. They know their territory like the back of their paw. Battles are second nature and they know the tricks of the trade. Usually by this point though they are also starting to slow down a little. Battles and time have worn on them a bit. They prefer to relax a bit more. This stage is the final step in your cat's life, and is very difficult to get to.

❝ FLATSALE ❞ Usually these will be speed sales, meaning first come first serve. But on occasion there will be prompt sales, 1 to 3 prompts will be posted 5 minutes prior to the start time of the Flatsale and time will end 30 minutes after the sale have been started. Entries posted the same minute as the end post will be accepted, anything after will be ignored. There will be other chances to win! You can only purchase or win one cat per sale, it’s just to be fair to everyone else. Each cat is [NEW SET PRICE].

❝ FLAFFLE ❞ These are simple and are made for people who have slow internet so they get a chance at the cats as well. The way it’ll work is when the start time begins I will ask you to look up a picture. I could ask for one sale to look up a picture of a “Kitten in a bucket” you’ll have 30 minutes to find a picture of such and post it in the thread. Everyone who posts a picture in the 30 minutes will be put on a list and a random number will be chosen. Whoever happens to be that number is the winner. The number picking will continue to match the number of cats. Each cat is [NEW SET PRICE].

❝ AUCTION ❞ Very simple as well, another thread will be used for these events. A cat will be placed up for sale in this case and the highest bidder at the end of the auction gets the cat. But these cats will usually be special in some way and not be available through regular sales. There are anti-sniping rules of course for the last 10 minutes of the auction. If someone bids in the 10 minutes of the auction it will be extended another 10 minutes until the bidding stop for the 10 minutes after the last bid is posted.

❝ RAFFLE ❞ In a raffle a cat will be placed up for grabs and those who wish to have a chance at the cat will buy tickets, you are not limited to how many tickets you can purchase, but tickets are [NEW SET PRICE] a piece. At the end date of the raffle no more tickets may be purchased and a random number will be drawn, the person holding the winning ticket receives the cat.

❝ RP EVENT ❞ Just as it sounds, these events are RP based and usually are wrapped up in a plot. Prompts will be posted for the cat(s) available and you will need to follow the requirements. At the end of the event, a winner will be chosen by the judges. This can be done for breedings, for plotted events or just for funsies. Each cat is [NEW SET PRICE].

So you have an idea for a kitty that cant be obtained in normal sales? Well this is a good place to start! We do a few types of customs here, so take a peek!

❝ O1 ❞ Full growing full customs are cats that start at collared stages. They are specified by the buyer for each stage 99%, though the artists do have some freedom with certain things. They will be given to the buyer to be OK'd before being posted. You may choose the poses for growths.

❝ O2 ❞ Selected stage customs are cats that can start at newbie or novice stage. These are customizable by the buyer 99% with some artistic freedom. They may not start as collared cats, that would be a fully growing custom. You may choose the poses for growths.

❝ O3 ❞ Semi-customs are just that. Semi-customs. The buyer decides whether the cat starts at collared, newbie or novice stage, gives a breed, basic coloration, and gender, and the artist goes from there! You may choose the poses for growths.

❝ O4 ❞ Grab-bag customs aren't quite customs. They are a flat rate and you can get ANY stage of cat from collared to novice. It's all random! You may give gender preference and breed, but nothing else is specified to the artist. The artist chooses colors, pose, and stage. The artist chooses poses for growths.

Love is in the air when the full moon arises! Well not every full moon. On some full moons breeding slots will be opened and couple can claim these slots. In such they can produce kittens, but for some reason every litter that is produced humans seem to find them when their parents are away looking for food. They appear as newborns and are taken care of by the parents--but normally, once they reach their kitten stage, they are taken by humans into their homes while their parents are off looking for food. But, strangely enough, they seem to return home, abandoned, just about as quickly as they disappear...

BREEDING RULES

❝ O1 ❞ Your pet must be to the newbie stage or above.

❝ O2 ❞ You may keep one kitten per owner per breeding. The rest must be homed to others.

❝ O3 ❞ You may not custom-in a kitten, sorry. It's all based on family lines.

❝ O4 ❞ Your cat may only breed every other breeding event unless otherwise stated.

❝ O5 ❞ 2-5 kittens will be rolled no matter the breeding pair. However, mortality rates apply. If you have a specific amount you want for plot, let the colorist know. If you want it stated that kittens died, you can plot it in.

❝ O6 ❞ Every female may breed 3 times, maximum, for themselves. If they are a surrogate for a same-sex couple, that does not count towards your limit. Same goes for same-sex couples.

❝ O7 ❞ Life-mates that have been together and have 5+ RPs showing that they are mates will be given 4 kittens automatically. [Even if newbie.]

❝ O8 ❞ Flings that are for plot, funsies or the 'oops' factor will have a roll of 50% mortality rate. Meaning they can lose kittens, this is to cut down on fling breedings. [The kittens will be rolled, then the mortality rate will be rolled. Owner's have the option of taking them as deaths or saying they never existed.]

❝ O9 ❞ You must own your cat for at least 2 weeks before breeding them if you obtained a newbie or novice from an event.

TYPES OF BREEDINGS

❝ NEWBIE X NEWBIE ❞ 2-3 kittens. They are inexperienced and have a high morality rate! [This means more kittens could have been possible, but only 3 kittens maximum will survive.]

❝ NEWBIE X ANY OTHER STAGE ❞ Same rules as above, sorry. The newbie is still not experienced enough to have a full litter.

❝ NOVICE X NOVICE/MASTER ❞ 2-5 kittens. Low mortality rate. The likelyhood of any kitten dying is very low.

❝ MASTER X MASTER ❞ 4-5 kittens. No mortality rate at all. The perk of being experienced and settled is you automatically have at least 4 kittens.

WHO CAN BREED?

❝ MALE X FEMALE ❞ Normal breeding, birds and the bees, whoo!

❝ MALE X MALE ❞ They must have a surrogate. Which means your same-sex couple needs to find a female willing to carry the two boys' babies for them.

❝ FEMALE X FEMALE ❞ You need to find a male willing to impregnate one of them! One or both. [Even if they are both pregnant you will still only get between 2-5 kittens, depending on their stages.]

RP requirements must be met, if not your cat will not grow to the next stage. Staff will manage and account what RP is done in the thread and in the Guild. To help the staff follow your RP requirements as they are met, please go to the guild and create a journal for your pet. There is information within the guild about this! We cannot keep track of every kitty and their RP, sadly. Growths are rolled monthly as people sign up.

15 posts are a completed formal.
20 posts are a completed informal.
Battles must have an end to the RP, even if you're over 15 posts.
Solo RPs count as 1 formal if it is over 500 words.

NEWBORN

1 RP with parent(s) and/or sibling(s).
1 Small story explaining how they are taken by a human and collared.
2-3 week span before growth.

4 Informal RP [Or +2 formals]
