❁ Sept. 9, 2013 || This isn't exactly new, but I just want to announce that I've set up a Guild. Feel free to join if you like the shop!

❁ Aug. 24, 2013 || Now HIRING colorists (and other positions)!

❁ Aug. 23, 2013 || Newborn base is complete! All stages now have bases, although there will also be alternate poses made for male and female adults. Also wings for everything. Also different tails. And some other stuff. OTL

❁ Aug. 21, 2013 || Both foal bases are complete.

❁ Aug. 17, 2013 || Prize for upcoming advertising event is complete.

❁ Aug. 12, 2013 || One adult female base finished!

❁ Aug. 11, 2013 || Detailed sketches finished for 2 adult males, 2 adult females, 1 young male, 1 young female, and 1 newborn.

❁ Adult male (the curly antler stag) is now scrapped from the shop. He will be the sample base for applying colorists.

Creatures

In the lands surrounded by an endless, swirling Mist…

The largest islands are populated by the Dama, large cervids, and a myriad of creatures can be found across the rest. Strange and dangerous beasts live in the surrounding seas, preventing travel to and from distant lands. All creatures in this realm have two tails, a result of generations of exposure to Mist, and many are winged.

The Mist is the source of all magic and life, but it also poses a danger. Dense areas over the seas spawn frightening and dangerous creatures, and overexposure to dense Mist will drive normal creatures mad and sometimes change them physically.

The thinner Mist over the islands provides safe magical energy for the inhabitants, and helps create new life.

Dama

Adults, Doe and Stag

After reaching adulthood, Dama become independent and may do as they please. They can now make a family, and those gifted in magic can harness Mist and use it as they choose.






Foals, Fawn and Colt

Foals have lost the last traces of Mist from their birth, and can now walk and talk.






Newborn

Newborns spend most of the time asleep, still surrounding by the Mist that created them.





Elders, Hind and Hart

The oldest and wisest of cervids, elders have the greatest control over their Mist magic.

Familiars

Firelizard

A rare and shy species, firelizards are extremely gifted in Mist magic. They can disappear and reappear at will, as well as create glamours to hide their nests from overly-curious creatures. As their name suggests, they can also create and control fire.

Hiring Colorists!

I'm looking to hire a number of full-time and/or part-time colorists. Non-editing colorists don't need to match any particular style, but quality should be consistent. Editing colorists will need to be able to create similarly styled lineart and shading as the base templates (e.g. smooth lines of equal thickness, a mix of cell and soft shading).

Payments to colorists come from the shop mule (Endless Mist) and are made per pet completed; gold will be sent once the pet is finished. Non-editing colorists will only make unedited pets, whereas editing colorists should be able to make both edited and unedited pets.



Requirements:
❁ Art software that can handle layers, layer groups, layer effects such as multiply and overlay, and clipping masks. Templates are all .PSD files.
(Suggested programs: Paint Tool SAI, Adobe Photoshop 7.0 or later)
❁ Willingness to both give and accept suggestions/constructive critique to and from other staff
❁ Creativity and imagination!

Non-Editing Colorist Requirements:
❁ Ability to make interesting pet designs that do not require edits
❁ An understanding of the basics of color, and the ability to put together colors in appealing combinations

Editing Colorist Requirements:
❁ All non-editing colorist requirements (Above)
❁ Ability to make clean lines, understanding of shading, and ability to work well with the templates
❁ Ability to design and make at least some of the following edits: hair, antlers/horns, jewelry, elements, fur, feathers, clothing, etc.





Full-time Editing Colorist Responsibilities:
❁ Open at least 1 breeding slot per every 3 months (min. 2-3 pets) as of October 2013 (at the earliest)
❁ Create 2+ edited pets per major shop event, unless an exception is made (sickness, exams, work, way too busy, etc.)
❁ Open customs at will
❁ Open flatsales at will

Full-time Unediting Colorist Responsibilities:
❁ Open at least 1 unedited-only breeding slot per month (min. 2-3 pets) as of October 2013 (at the earliest)
❁ Create 3+ unedited pets per major shop event, unless an exception is made (sickness, exams, work, way too busy, etc.)
❁ Open unedited-only customs at will
❁ Open unedited-only flatsales at will

Part-time Colorist Responsibilities (Editing & Unediting):
❁ Create 2+ pets per major shop event, unless an exception is made (sickness, exams, work, way too busy, etc.)
❁ Open breedings at will




Colorist Payment:
✦ Breedings --- 100%
✦ Flatsales --- 100%
✦ Customs --- 90%
✦ Paid Raffles --- 100%
✦ Auctions --- 80% (edited only)
✦ Bribes --- 100%% (edited only)

Non-editing colorists cannot hold auctions or bribes (because the pets from these events would be edited). Part-time colorists cannot open flatsales, paid raffles, auctions, or bribes unless pre-approved OR as part of a shop event.




Staff Perks:
In addition to standard payment, staff earn points for each pet completed. These points can be turned in for various staff perks such as free pets, auction slots, and bribe slots. All staff members can also make/receive a "freebie" pet for each shop event that is held.

Hiring Certist!

Looking to hire at least 1 certist. Payments to certist come from the shop mule (Endless Mist) and are made per cert completed. Payment tentatively set to 1,000 gold per cert version, so if there's a 3-stage pet (newborn, foal, adult) with a cert adjustment (ex. ownership change), that would result in a payment of 4,000 gold. Payment may be increased based on workload and demand.

Requirements:
❁ Adobe Photoshop is, unfortunately, a must (due to features that are not available in most other programs, ex. layer features and effects such as emboss). Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and later should be sufficient, but CS5 and CS6 are strongly recommended.
❁ Willing to give feedback and suggestions/planning shop events! <3

Hiring Thread/General Manager!

Looking to hire at least 1 thread manager/general manager! You'll be responsible for monitoring the thread (and well, helping to keep it alive if necessary) as well as keeping track of participants in advertising events. Payments will be monthly and will be a multiple of 10,000 gold (currently tentatively set to 30,000 per month). Payment may be increased based on workload and demand.

❁ None, really, except the ability to be active on Gaia and in this thread whee although past managerial experience would be helpful.
❁ Also willingness to help with shop planning and event ideas!

Hiring Event Manager!

Looking to hire 1 or 2 event managers! Your task will be to help monitor, administer, and proctor "official" shop events, games, and contests (including judging). An example of an "official" event would be a Halloween event, as opposed to a flaffle run by an individual colorist. Doing this for ALL events is NOT required, so you are not barred from participating if you choose not to administer/judge. Planning shop events and brainstorming is also involved and much appreciated! Payments are tentatively set to 10,000+ gold for small events (ex. flatsales and raffles) and 20,000+ for big/long events (ex. art contests, RP/story contests, auctions).
