also give them milk they love it .ishould know i hav a cayt on here
Few people know that a high percentage of cats and dogs are lactose intolerant. So milk may make them sick. I you have already been feeding them milk and they are fine then they are one of the few lucky tolerant cats. Otherwise, if you have never tried it before start out by giving them just a small drop, just a taste of it for a few days to see if they are tolerant or not.
If your cat has been getting sick lately and you have always been giving them milk since they were a kitten, they may have grown an intolerance to lactose (like becoming allergic to something you were not allergic to before) try not giving it to them anymore for a day or two and see if they feel better. otherwise take them to the vet.
My understanding is that animals need lactase to process the lactose in milk, and all animals have sufficient levels of lactase at birth so they can process their mother's milk. When they grow up, they lose the lactase, so the vast majority of adult cats and dogs can't process milk or other dairy. This does not mean it is safe to feed kittens cow milk either though, cow milk is very different from kitten milk and needs to be processed specially to be okay for kittens.
Small amounts are okay as an occasional treat, but there's really no reason to feed your cat dairy regularly - the potential digestive problems outweighs their love of dairy. Digestive problems may not be obvious either, so be careful before assuming your cat is "okay" with dairy.
