Slide shows for your profile...

Hey all,

Photobucket now allows you to make slideshows with your pictures, or at least I just found that option, lol, and I think it would be great if we could put them on our profile.
I've spoken to someone that works for Gaia and he said with the way Gaia is currently set up you can only add the link if you have a "Classic" profile and I think you should be able to add it with both the "Classic" and "Current" styles, so if you agree show some support and then send your friends.

biggrin i could agree more i sign too,i really would love to have slide shows on my profile,please add this on gaia,if we could have play list & medias,Please add on the slide shows,i know a lot of gaiaonline folks would love to have that on here.

Feedback: Slideshows would be an interesting idea to have, but Gaia should probably allow slideshows from other image hosting sites, not just Photobucket. (I'm not sure if other sites, like tinypic, have slideshow capabilities so I'm throwing my idea out there just to be safe and include other image hosting sites.)

Also, would it take the place of one's media section, or will it require a new section in profiles (both classic and new)?

Definitely supporting this idea. I would love to put my artwork and my son's picture in a slide show instead of it taking up so much space on the profile.

Hey hun, I got an answer to your question from my friend that works for Gaia. He said and I quote "Actual implementation of photo slideshows is not yet decided. I assume all we would need to do for "current" (v2) profiles is to add a new type of content that allows specific Flash URLs.
We can't allow just any photo hosting site because Photobucket and Flickr have their own "moderators" to remove image content above PG-13. Users with whitelisted images would need to be prevented from seeing slideshows from other image hosts."
