I would like to sign as well.
For putting 10+ hours into monotonous button clicking and following links, I would at least like to be rid of an item I find ugly by either tossing it away or giving it to someone who would like it. I wouldn't mind seeing something along the lines of the potions in Skin Tyte available for the 3 skins eventually.
What I would like to see most would be that Gaia shouldn't ever use this exact method again for an event. I can think of at least two methods that would've caused less friction:
1. Give the winning side the prize at the end of the event. Simple and efficient, this way people don't get the idea to fall in love with an item and come up with an avatar design based on it.
2. Make any item an achievement the individual can get. If a person put the effort in they should get to keep the item. For example let's say an achievement like 'complete 3000 missions' or 'Sacrifice yourself 50 times' if unlocked would let the person keep the skin, anyone who didn't fulfill the achievement in time could then get the 'consultation' prize.
In the end, the 'winning side keeps item' approach is just simply a bad idea when much better ways are possible that would generate far less tension.
Bare minimum let everyone dump what they don't want...next time I see an event exactly like this one I'll just skip it and play something less mind numbing.
