But why you ask? Because am working on getting the boycott in order. Why do we need a boycott? I think having 4 announcements in a day, nerfed BG, those god-awful "free offers" for Cash, and just a general bad attitude from Gaia is enough for me. I think for many of you, too.
I've been reading around many petitions, threads and whatnots, and am trying to construct a logical request/demand with easy ways to help with.
If there is anyone willing to help me with this, please PM me. smile
ANNOUNCEMENT: READ THIS FIRST, PLEASE
To everyone looking at this petition, let me sum this up for you in a few words: WE WANT BALANCE. We completely understand there is Gaia inflation, but we believe there can be a balance and better results in dealing with the inflation than nerfing something we paid for (read the posts below of this page for great ideas). Just like EI and monthly's, we paid real money for them; however, unlike EI and monthly's, we cannot keep them forever. We purchased them with the intention to make money off of them, we bought them when there were no caps on them. There was no warning that there was going to be a cap, there was not even a discussion, not even input - layouts are one thing, but messing with something that real money was invested in is another. We were given something we did not pay for.
Gaia, we love you, we really do, but

ANNOUNCEMENT2: BOYCOTT (WIP)
Seemingly that Gaia has not been listening to us, and has completely butchered Booty Grab, we (me and other users) are in the talk of a boycott. We are drafting information and a separate thread will be made for this. Since it is separate, no one who signed this petition will be transferred over there unless you explicitly state in the new thread. If you have any ideas on this boycott - what to do, how to, how long, etc. - please, either post up on this thread or PM me (if you wish to remain anonymous.)

As of today (May 15, 2009), it's not even a week with the new "changes" (ie: nerfed) to the tanks. Well, am already not happy with it and I know a lot of you are not as well. I propose a petition for the developers to see to stop this complete nerf of the tanks.
Problems
- tanks trigger MUCH less now (May 27th: user checked a thread for 3 hours, and 2/4 tanks triggered.)
-- even when they trigger, it's usually 3-4 fish
- there's a cap on how much gold a fish drops (Ie: watermeat fades away at 300g - maybe this happened randomly before, once in a blue moon, but not nearly every tank now. This wasn't here before this "update".)
-- Fish disappears many times before the cap even is reached.
- Overseer drops worse (ie: Nautilus @ 1g 3x week?)
Why Is This a Problem
Many paid real money to get those fish, and it's completely unfair to have something nerfed just because it went so well. At this rate, there is no ROI (return-on-investment.) Some of us may never get our ROI by the time the fish die, and even the drops aren't worth the purchasing price of the fish at this rate. (Taken from xOVERDOSExONxMEx, page 3). We don't even get to keep the fish, but not even this, we were marketed one product, and given another. False advertising is NOT sitting well with us!

Proposed Solution
Pick ONE, please. Either pick less triggering, caps, nerf the overseer, or amount triggering, but don't nerf the entire game. Booty Grab was great up until this, now it's more frustrating than anything. And please, next time, when someone writes up "new changes have been implemented", please tell us what those changes were so we're not surprised. If inflation is a problem, that donation/SOS day worked well - hold more of those?

They should make GOOD gold shop items that people actually WANT to buy. It seems like every time they update the gold shops it's nothing cool, and I don't want to spend my gold on them.
They should have RIGs (random item generators, like the Suspicious Package and the like) available in the gold shops, as well as some aquarium fish and decorations.
The fish wouldn't have to be as cool as the cash fish, and wouldn't need to be high triggers either, and I think that people would still buy them.
Anyway, better gold shop items = more gold removed from the Gaia economy = less inflation.

The main reason I played was the aquariums. If they have nerfed it, then I see no reason to keep dumping real money into the game. I'm sure many people will share the same sentiment. I came from a game that I paid a monthly fee for. The treatment of the players and them constantly "fixing" s**t that was broken in the first palce is what drove me away. I have no qualms about taking my money elsewhere. I've done it three times now. Will Gaia make it Four?
