Extra security for Gaia!
Vote thumbs up!!
My friend just recently got hacked. It was a huge shock to me, since I only thought only a few people here and there got hacked. It hit home for me and I wanted to do something to help others here on Gaia and prevent any future hackings.
I thought of several things that were possible to make the Gaia security system a little more efficient. And then it hit me, how about another password?
On Gaia right now, us users have one single password that can change our accounts forever. If someone just gets a hold of one password, they can hack into accounts, steal things, change usernames, give off items, sell them, pretty much anything they want.
To prevent them from giving gifts, using the marketplace and the trade, shouldn't we have an extra password? Sure, maybe it's a hassle to remember, but it'll make it harder for hackers to figure it out, since you have to learn both the master password and the extra password for the marketplace, trade and gift giving options.
If you don't want that extra hassle, you can turn the option off, and just go along with one password. But for those who have multi-million gold accounts or their personal info in one, we can choose to have this extra option on.
The password system would run the system. Your password would be case sensitive and you can have punctuation marks (such as !'s).
We should also have a PIN number (personal identification number) on our inventories. Most people just hack accounts to get gold or items that other people have. In order to stop that, we should have the only way to get to those items blocked with a PIN!
Make Gaia a better place and sign this petition!
