I sign - not to boycott the aquarium but the fact that they cost real money!

I know I can go to the market place but they cost ALOT! I rather spent that amount of gold on avi items and some house items. if I could shose (like in the regular shops) to pay with gold or cash, that would be better. And have a realistic prize on it. Im NOT paying 3k for a fish that dies... rolleyes

As I'm sure many of you know, simply by looking through the Gaia Aquarium Feedback Forum, people are NOT HAPPY about this new feature, which as I type this, is down, after it already opened... The main issue isn't the feature itself, it's very cute and kind of creative, but the factor here is the REAL money it costs just to 'buy' fake fish that die.

I understand the site needs money, it needs to be maintained and blah, blah, blah, but haven't they done well for the past few years with just money from the MCs? When the Gaia Cash Shop came out, that wasn't overly bad either. Get some extra, 'elite' items for a few bucks. Okay, not too big of a problem right? But now it's FISH! Virtual fish that DIE after a period of time! What's stopping Gaia now from simply charging real money for regular items? Huh?

Another issue annoying people is the fact you can buy stuff with ONLY real money. Many of us are children and teenagers, many, I'm assuming do not work. I myself am a teenager and have a part time job, but I save that money for my car insurance. I have better things to waste my money on then virtual crap that won't last.

Like I said, the feature is cute, and interesting, but it's almost impossible for users without disposable income. Those who follow the same idea, and agree, please join in the boycott against this new feature, not to say 'no to fish!' but no to turning this site into a money eating monster! If we don't ban together, the problem will only get worse! I for one don't want to pay for the best features for a FREE website, and I'm sure many of you do not either. I understand paying for MCs, that has always been Gaia's way of making money to support the site, but since the Cash Shop, it's all been down hill.

If you agree, please join our cause, if not, then please leave peacefully and don't post rude remarks. Let's make Gaia more user friendly! Thanks my fellow Gaians, and please state that you actually sign! heart (Will be edited with pics, ect through out today)

YOU DO REALIZE THAT YOU CAN EASILY GO TO THE MARKETPLACE AND USE YOUR GOLD THERE...RIGHT? I MEAN, THAT IS THE REASON WHY THEY HAVE A MARKETPLACE IS SO EVERYONE CAN HAVE WHAT THEY WANT WITHOUT REAL MONEY. IT IS ESSENTIALLY THE SAME AS EVOLVING ITEMS!

Here's the thing, I, myself, refuse to pay for items in the market place, because it gives Gaia more money it doesn't need. And if the sellers keep giving Gaia more money, they arn't going to stop with the bull s***. I don't care if others buy from the market place, it's not my decision and I can't stop it, but I don't want to give Gaia the chance to keep pushing this crap on us.

So essentially what you are fighting is not just the fish tanks but also the evolving items. The evolving items cost money correct. Those occulus Mythica that you are wearing presently. Where did you get those from? Can someone say marketplace or monthly collectible, that hey hey now costs real money. If gaia does not make us pay cash for something we like, then how can they expect to keep calling themselves free to join. Or even with the MMORPG coming out soon. You can't expect them to run their electricty on bread crumbs and pay their employees who fix the bugs with worms. NO it does not work like that in the real world. Gaia has every right to say what they want. And if they lose a couple of players because what they say is wrong, well then they can just go ahead and sorry our bad. POINT BIENG, GAIA MAY BE FREE FOR US TO PLAY, BUT IT IS NOT FREE FOR THEM TO RUN THIS SITE.
Alright, now you're annoying me... the point is, Gaia ha PLENTY of money to keep itself up and running. They have MCs, ads, etc. They don't need anymore money. And before this turns into a full blown argument, please don't post back. I acknowledge your opinion and I hope you acknowledge mine. Let's drop it.
