As I'm sure many of you know, simply by looking through the Gaia Aquarium Feedback Forum, people are NOT HAPPY about this new feature, which as I type this, is down, after it already opened... The main issue isn't the feature itself, it's very cute and kind of creative, but the factor here is the REAL money it costs just to 'buy' fake fish that die.
I understand the site needs money, it needs to be maintained and blah, blah, blah, but haven't they done well for the past few years with just money from the MCs? When the Gaia Cash Shop came out, that wasn't overly bad either. Get some extra, 'elite' items for a few bucks. Okay, not too big of a problem right? But now it's FISH! Virtual fish that DIE after a period of time! What's stopping Gaia now from simply charging real money for regular items? Huh?
Another issue annoying people is the fact you can buy stuff with ONLY real money. Many of us are children and teenagers, many, I'm assuming do not work. I myself am a teenager and have a part time job, but I save that money for my car insurance. I have better things to waste my money on then virtual crap that won't last.
Like I said, the feature is cute, and interesting, but it's a stupid idea over all. Those who follow the same idea, and agree, please join in the boycott against this new feature, not to say 'no to fish!' but no to turning this site into a money eating monster! If we don't ban together, the problem will only get worse! I for one don't want to pay for the best features for a FREE website, and I'm sure many of you do not either. In my eyes, even if they add the fish for regular gold, it still isn't right it was only cash in the first place. It shows Gaia is becoming greedy for money only and have to be scolded to make it fair. If you agree, please join our cause, if not, then please leave peacefully and don't post rude remarks.
