Prices are based off of difficulty, time spent, and effort put into the graphics and/or layouts. A .gif, for example, takes more time and effort than a regular standstill. Post and thread layouts are the most expensive because posts involve a lot of coding, and threads require coding and many, many banners. A bribe gets you multiples of something, such as banners or post layouts. In the case of a thread layout, bribes get you the whole thread layout (however many sub banners and sub sub banners) for that one item.
