gaia_angelleft gaia_crown 1st Annual GaiAcademy Award Nominees gaia_crown gaia_angelright

Phew! Finally - after much, much, much sorting through massive emails about nominations, we have finally managed to narrow down the short list of nominees. Let me say that all the nominations were pretty spectacular! As with any contest, we had to narrow down the final contestants. We appreciate everyone who took the time to nominate a fellow Gaian for a GaiAcademy Award!

This thread is designed to provide a visual aid/links to nominated content for all of you, so you have an easier time casting your votes. A few important notes:
Quote:

* Regarding nominated content, we've used the images/links to posts or threads submitted by the nominators if provided. If no images or links were provided, we used the current avatar, posts, or threads that fit the criteria of the category.

* Not all nominations for certain categories met the category criteria. As well, not all categories received a lot of nominations. This means that some categories will have less nominees than others.

* Regarding the Male and Female avatar costume design, people may have changed the gender-base of their avatars since the original nominations! This doesn't disqualify them for the original nomination smile

Best of luck to all nominees, and thank you all for nominating Gaians for these awards! biggrin

Nominee: Leader Clair V2:
What the nominator has to say about Leader Clair V2:
"She's the reason that people stay. If they pop in and they're not listening to the rules, she'll kindly refer them to the front page. If they're returning or people who have read the rules, she's usually the first one to greet them and welcome them to the thread. An amazing Gaian in my books."

Nominee: Shellsmachine:
What the nominator has to say about Shellsmachine: "Since I started my thread, most Enki tanks are reporting higher player counts. A lot of this is due to Shellsmachine's support of the thread. She visits daily, looking for glowing Enki tanks. She posts them in my thread, and keeps the thread moving well. She plays and bumps the owner's tanks. This has given my thread, and the Enki tanks more visibility. The thread has encouraged more people to purchase and maintain Enki tanks, which has led to lower golden giftbox prices and more alchemy components on the market. The success of the thread would not have been possible without Shellsmachine's help.

What the nominator has to say about Azial's post/thread: "Azial has always created really funny, but very positive threads in the ever aggresive Chatterbox thread. Azial makes a great example of making funny, lighthearted threads, but always encouraging kind actions from fellow CB'rs. Some of my personal favorites are the threads in which he will ask you who your favorite person in the forum is, or who you would like to meet most, and asks you to summon them in a quote. It feels nice to get summoned. Or he'll create threads that involve descriptions of you through song, things like that. These are all as I think very very funny, and great threads. He is a very nice person, too. I rarely run into a CB'r who is always so kind hearted, uplifting, and very funny. I highly recommend Mr. Azial for Best thread."

Nominee: Foxy Bandit
Post/Thread Nominated: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/monthly-update-video-archive/monthly-update-may-2012/t.79835597_48/#48
What the nominator has to say about Foxy Bandit's post: "Foxy Bandit is a very intelligent, funny Gaian. I have often met with her in Towns1 to chat with her there, and her comments have always made me laugh so hard I cry! But she is highly well-read on topics of history, music, cinema and literature, as well -- so there is never a dull moment when having a conversation with her -- whether in the forums, or in Towns.
This sample of the "Best Surreal Post " could as well have been "Best Comedic Post" -- and I had a difficult time deciding between the two nomination genres -- but, knowing Foxy as well as I do, she would be happiest with the "Surreal" nomination."

What the nominator has to say about Alexandrite_Dragon's post: "The post starts with the character having lots of dialogue discussing the universe and its laws. Not bad, right? But then the narration turns into separate voices and then the character has some sort of system error and malfunctions. Now there's a person in bold font, a person in green font, and the "regular" narration. Wait, are some of those people the same? Which one is the main character? Roleplay Nominated: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/barton-town/tales-of-zerestia-n-a/t.82680379/
What the nominator has to say about Cassandra Sandsmark's roleplay: "Cassandra has done a fantastic job with this roleplay, putting so much work into crafting the world and characters making sure everyone involved has a good time. The storyline is constantly stimulating and always exciting, the characters are well developed and original, and the world keeps becoming more and more intricate. One of the best things about this is that Cassandra has such a clear vision for the story but is always open to listening to player suggestions, and she is always so
driven and passionate, always working to make the RP even better for everyone.

Nominee: savvycrazy
Roleplay Nominated: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/chatterbox/dragon-s-castle-rp-read-first-post/t.82424671/
What the nominator has to say about savvycrazy's roleplay: "Well, because she has created an interesting world, with a lot of different characters, which is making the thread fun and good to read. It has accumulated more than 500 pages and it is still going. Plus, the story is one of the thing I also like. That's why I'm nominating the thread. smile "

Nominee: Pax Britannica
Roleplay Nominated: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/invitation-only-rp/x-c-it/t.75242459/
What the nominator has to say about Pax Britannica's roleplay: "Pax Britannica, the user and the role play, are both some of the most amazing things on the internet. Not only has she kept this Roleplay alive well over a year, but this is the Pax Britannica the second, the first thread survived for a year as well before she was forced to reopen. Her strive and creativity make the story for the Role Play, her character, and the longevity of the fictional world a wonder to behold. As a reader who is not in the actual Role Play and find myself drawn into the wondrous world she's created and almost wish to immerse myself in that world rather than the world around myself."

Nominee: __ _ R i N N i E xx

What the nominator has to say about __ _ R i N N i E xx's roleplay: "I've known __ _ R i N N i E xx for five years now. Over that time, she has created numerous fun and exciting roleplays. In the advance literate community, she is close to a household name. I personally watched as __ _ R i N N i E xx slaved away for weeks in order to create Decode. She created everything from scratch: story, background, characters, and graphics. She dreams of writing novels and scripts for television shows. __ _ R i N N i E xx deserves this nomination because she is an inspiration in the roleplay community."

Nominee: xX Mellowlicious Xx
Roleplay Nominated: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/barton-town/bscura-atura-o-a/t.83803365/
What the nominator has to say about xX Mellowlicious Xx's roleplay: "In all my years of roleplaying, this is one of the more original threads I've seen. Rather than centering around a battle between wolves and vampires, or arranged marriage, this RP pits the creator of a world against those that helped her create it. Not only that, but both sides have called upon their creations, the races of the world, to fight against the other side with them. Those whom join the creator, Mother Nature, may not even know that she plans to kill them all once the other creators, the Aethons, are gone. As for the thread creator, she is a fair individual, not penalizing people for taking a while to post, and encouraging people to be creative with their roleplay character, be it a human or demon, or even a spirit wolf or an interdimentional demon summoned for a pact!"

Thread Nominated: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/barton/the-sunriders-any-bartons-left-join-the-guild/t.81302985
What the nominator has to say about MasturChef's thread: "Barton was in a lot of trouble during the Rejected Olympics when it came to the morning. We had a solid group of dedicated players during the night hours but our morning hours were are massive weak spot. We had a thread for keeping track of the people who played at night but what about the people dedicated to our weak morning hours. That's where MasturChef stepped up and took the lead after we lost our lead to Aeka during the early morning hours. People discussed theories, debated evidence, and put their heads together as detectives, and the thread creator remained an active and integral part of the proceedings, as well as helping spice it up with just a touch of roleplay.
