The Summer and Winter Solstice
Dear Visitor,
Welcome to the Winter and Summer Solstice. If do not wish to know the true horrors and wonders life can bring, I suggest you run away as fast as mortally or even immortally possible. There I warned you. Now on to business.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Do you suffer from dyslexia and ADHD? Do you have a friend that has a walking problem and wears long pants everyday? Do you constant monsters trying to kill you? Do you have unexplainable “powers†or unusual “happenings Do you only have one blood parent? Congratulations! You’re a half blood. A demigod, just like Hercules, Jason, and Perseus. Your friend with the walking problem will guide you safely to Camp Half-Blood where all demigods come to train to become heroes. When you first arrive you are undetermined, your immortal mother or father has not claimed you yet. Mr. D., Dionysus, the camp director, is there to greet you unenthusiastically. Chiron, the activities director is also there to schedule your activities. These activities will help you train to become a hero with glory. As you train you will get determined and then you bear the burden of holding up your immortal parent’s reputation. You might be the son or daughter of Hermes, Dionysus, Demeter, Hephaestus, Apollo, Artemis, Aphrodite, Athena, Ares, or Hera. You might even be Big Three material. Zeus, Poseidon, or Hades. If you are from one of the Big Three then the others will have to bow down to you. Chiron will give you a quest if the time is right. You will earn your glory if you succeed your quest. Your immortal parent will be proud because you gave them honor. As a hero, you will have a peaceful afterlife in Elysium. You might not succeed your quest and bring shame. It’s a dangerous world outside of the camp’s boundaries. You must swear on the river Styx that you will not turn to the titans. Dare I say it, may the gods go with you.
Do you seek revenge for being wrongfully accused of doing something you did not do and then having your loved ones being taken away? Were you punished for a long time in exile? Do you have the skill to give the closest shave in the world? Has a loved one killed themself because you were gone? Do you feel the need to sing about everything? Then you must feel like Benjamin Barker, a.k.a. Sweeney Todd. Poor thing. You meet someone who knows about your past and was a friend to the loved one you lost. Your old friends have been untouched by time hidden away before you were taken away, glistening. You try to live an innocent life. Another person recognizes your barber talent and your past of being arrested. They try to blackmail you so you kill him off. The person you met has an idea of how to dispose of the body. Make famous meat pies out of them. You see that the world is filled with horrid people and that they all deserve to die. Even yourself. You open a barbershop and when people come in for a shave, you slit their throats and send them to be grinded into meat pies. You lose the thing that matters most to you while doing so.
Life is cruel. Life is wondrous. You can choose the way life is. If you wish to learn more about fate, continue on. Will you become a hero or do you have the need for revenge?
Yours Truly,
