Still ~ you're quite lucky you are allowed to take that major
I wasn't allowed to even think of having art as a major
but I was always have at least art somewhere in my schedule
I think that's my biggest mistake when I was in the nursing program
I should've just taken an art course on top of my nursing so I can have the courage to continue.
I simply cannot live without art in my life XD

I dunno what art area I specifically wanna go into though

in a way you are also lucky to know what direction to aim for.

My mom kept telling me I should get into medical field because it makes a lot of money.
She supports me now though since she's seen my art and how hard I work on it xD
I feel the same way, I know I would be unhappy if I was majoring in something that wasn't art.
I'd rather pursue something I enjoy and have the motivation for rather than something I don't like at all.

Awww, there's a lot of people who say you can't make art as a living.
But I mean, basically everything you see is made from someone who have taken at least a few art courses. (i.e: billboards, brochures, advertisements)
Art is everywhere!
