Charles Evan Hughes was very intelligent and always put his education. He graduated from Brown University around Spring 1881. Not only that, he graduated at the top of his class in Columbia Law School. After all his hard work in school, he achieved his first job as a lawyer. Hughes made about $30 a month. He worked in the government and in the U.S. Supreme court twice which is very rare. He has been the only one to have been appointed to the U.S. Supreme court twice in our History as we know today.
Through his hard work, Hughes was elected Governor of New York. Four years later in 1910, Hughes was nominated by President Taft to become an Associative Justice on the U.S. Supreme court. Hughes was able to stay as a Associative Justice until he resigned, retired, or died. Hughes resigned from the Supreme court in 1916 to run for President. Sadly, he lost the Presidential election to Woodrow Wilson. Later on in 1921, Hughes was appointed as a secretary of the state of the United States by president Warren G. Harding, but he was forced to resign in 1925.
Hughes never seem to disappoint anyone at all. Around 1930, Hughes was appointed as Chief Justice of the United Supreme court and led the court until he retired in 1941. He made tough decisions and usually made the right choices. What makes him very unique is he's the only one to have been appointed to the Supreme court twice. He never gave up on anything, even when he resigned from the supreme court and lost the election. He would always keep going and stay as an attorney. Hughes had great achievements and is a great influence to all to do well in school everyday. This is why it was a good choice to name a junior high school after him because he was a great man.
TO ALL: Don't effin' read it. I dislike it a lot. I just want a dam A. Lol.
