Lara continued to observe the happenings, utterly confused and lost. She eyed the portal cautiously, not sure what it was.

[Tenshi]

[.the young white fox slips silently in behind Shifter, and places herself strategically between the two elder kitsune. She catches Kitsune's eye, and listens to her words given to Shifter. Keeping in mind to mask her scent, she crouched in the grass, waiting patiently for the portal to be opened.]

[Kitsune]

((It's okay, Tenshi. ^-^ Here's a quick layout for what you're gettin' in to. Anubis (here's his stats) resides in a rather wicked looking palace surrounded by a large wall out in the middle of a desert wasteland. The dead from the bloody battle that took place are pretty much sprawled all around outside the palace gates. There are bodies of of humans, ogres, various types of demon dogs, elves, cat creatures, sandworms, horses, all kinds of things. Whatever you want to take control of, I'm sure it's out there. Have fun. >D Inside the palace, there's a long corridor that leads to the throne room which is where Anubis is. The corridor has various doors branching from it, but don't worry too much about where those lead. Most of the action will take place in the throne room and the treasure room which is hidden. Anything else you need to know? ^-^

Edit: Also, keep in mind that we're about to cross over into a completely different dimension. Things that happen in this dimension won't affect us and things that happen there won't affect any outside.))

[Shifter]

A breeze flows through the grasses and picks up briefly, leaving a barely visible pale blue rippling pool on its side in its wake floating slightly above the ground. He rift's creator then vanishes under the effects of a cloaking illusion as he supresses his scent under another of his tricks. His voice calls out one final warning. "Unless there is a guard right next to the exit of this rift they won't be able to see it since it is nearly invisible on the other end. Just don't get too cocky while we are over there lest a high guard spot you through your illusions. This portal leads into the main hallway so we should at least have a few moments to get our bearings no matter what. See you on the other side, I guess." The voice chuckles slightly at that then goes silent as he refocuses on the task at hand and crosses the gap between the two worlds.

((The portal exits about a quarter of the way into the main hall from the entrance. Unless a guard comes within 3 meters of the rift before it closes they will not be able to see it. If they do manage to notice anything it will probably only be briefly as a faint blue patch.))

[Tenshi]

(((OoC: ah, yes. Thank you for that much appreciated update. 3nodding And I RP these spirits that I gain control of, or does someone else? Also, the demention thing is still a bit fuzzy to me, about things happening to us, etc. so if i do anything questionable, please tell me, and i'll edit or whatnot. ^_^ Thanx.)))

[.the white fox listens carefully to Shifter's words, as she quickly approaches the portal. A bit of magic is conjured, as she masks her scent, giving a bit of a chameleon affect, as she watches for Kitsune. Nodding to the female, she leaps into the portal, preparing herself for the other dimention.
<i>"...See you on the other side..."</i>

[Kitsune]

((Most of the guards are in the throne room, keeping an eye on that portal, outside on palace grounds patrol or in other areas of the palace itself. There are two guards armed with halberds and scimitars standing on either side of the doorway that leads into the throne room just as before. The door was destroyed so we can waltz right through when the guards are all distracted.

And yes, you control the spirits, Tenshi. I'll be controlling the guards going after them. ^-^))

Kitsune snickers softly and nods at Shifter as he vanishes from sight and hearing. The void fox then watches Tenshi as she slips into the portal. "This should be good."

She stands up and shakes herself, her dark gray fur bleaching out to pure white before going transparent all together. Completely gone from sight now, Kitsune casts a quick spell to mask her scent and then leaps through the portal, crossing over to the next side.

((I'll go on ahead and set up Anubis and such in this post.))

Inside the main hall, two guards stand watch outside of Anubis' throne room, their halberds crossed in front of the doorway to form an 'X'.

Inside the throne room, the dark lord turns his attention toward his own created portal as his mage and the two high guards slip through with his treasured throne. Anubis stands up and stretches his wings, pleased to see that they have not failed him after all. "What took you so long? I told you if they did not agree quickly, you had my consent to destroy them, their quaint little shrine, and any other fools who got in your way."

Both guards growl at the mage in unison.

The mage bows his head and apologizes several times to his master, trying to explain that he didn't want to start a war so soon. Anubis ignores him and claps his clawed hands together twice, calling for several guards to remove the stand-in throne to make room for his favorite seat. As the elephant guards trade out the thrones, Anubis walks over to his created portal and seals it with a wave of his hand. "And you were not followed, correct?" He eyes the mage coldly.

Mage: No, my Lord! We were not followed. I took all the precautions in making sure!

Anubis nods once and then eyes the guards as they place the booby trapped throne down on the pedestal, removing the blanket wrapped tightly around it. The jackle-headed beast walks over to it and grins, pleased to see that it looks just the way it did when he last saw it. "I'm so pleased to have you back. Never again will I allow those filthy creatures to take you away from me."

The mage silently watches, his thoughts drifting to what Shifter had said. Perhaps there was truth in his words. Anubis had never asked if he were well or if the kitsune had given him any trouble. It does seem like the dark lord has no feelings toward him. The mage frowns slightly and turns away, contemplating to himself.

[Shifter]

As he hears the second set of nearly inaudible paws lightly padding onto the scorched ground of the burned-out hallway marking the arrival of the other kitsune, Shifter releases his control over the rift. With everyone across, maintaining the portal for any longer would only be a liability. The barely visible portal finally fades out of existance without an anchor to maintain it. He then sneaks over to an edge of the hallway and sits down waiting for the distraction to draw the guards away from the throne room.

[Kitsune]

Kitsune was the last to pass through before the portal closed itself. Pulling her claws in, she silently pads over to relatively clear space nearby and sits down on her haunches, pulling her tails around herself. Her gold eyes fall on the two guards standing in front of Anubis' throne room and then back to the heavy doors on the opposite end of the long hall, no doubt leading outside. She looks around and waits patiently for Tenshi.

[Tenshi]

[.the lucid kitsune leaps upon a pedestal in a dark corner of the hall, where a statue once stood, her transparent form, taking on the impression of the long since gone rock formation that used to lie there, prestigiously decorating the god's home. Now that she had a safe place to remain, where she would not be noticed so easily, the spirit kitsune begins to concentrate upon the restless spirits within the premasis. She moves silently into the Spirit world, and stands before all that would listen, giving an inaudible but vigorous speach. This act of leadership and concern for the spirits of this world touches many, and motivates others. Her hinting at vindictive benefits catches the attention of those already vengeful, and merely encourages their already boiling anger. Finally, her rally is done, and she steps down, conducting the various spirits the way they would be most affective.

A group of dark wizards huddled in a group, following behind a few daemon wolves and in front of a few humans. All three spirit species spread themselves out, leiniently revealing themselves to the guards as they entered the dimention of Anubis. The humans remained near the middle of the room, speaking loudly, and throwing various objects about the room that they didn't see fit to be placed in this particular temple. Outside the room with the Throne Room Guards, the dark wizard spirits conjured up wraiths and swift weather changes inside the very temple, attempting to draw out the guards in confusion, after they approached the humans. The wolves clawed at various walls and such, basically trying for the best attention catcher, doing what they knew they shouldn't, had they been alive.

The Spirit Kitsune raises an eyebrow, watching all the manipulated beings, shaking her head in disappointment. The fools looked much too much like they were trying for a distraction, for their random actions might seem suspicious, if the guards happened to be the thinking type. However, as long as they distracted the guards to the room while Anubis was inside, and did not make enough noise for the jackal to draw forth from the room, all was fine.]

[Shifter]

Shifter watches the beginnings of what should prove to be an amusingly chaotic occasion from his corner and smiles slightly. Unlike Tenshi, he felt it was perfect since angry spirits have been well known to wreck havoc when they are able until they were placated or otherwise removed. With the massive scale of the recent slaughter on these grounds, Anubis would probably discount the troublesome spirits as an annoying after-effect and leave their removal to his guards assisted by some magi. That the situation would soon get much worse for the defending forces was all the more amusing to him.

(((OoC: well guys...i'll try to wait until Kitsune posts one more time, so i can post back, but i really should leave it at this for the night.
I don't know what time you guys are on, but i'm on EST, so it's 12:30am, and I have a looooong hard weekend ahead of me. I'll be working all day Saturday, and all day Sunday, but I'll be able to get on during the day on Saturday. So I will post tomorrow, but like I said before, I'll be gone probably all day Sunday. *sigh*...i know i'll have a lotta reading to catch up on if you all continue, but I really should get some sleep...i'm sooo dead. X_x Thanks for understanding...)))

((Both me and Kitsune will be busy studying most of this weekend so we really won't notice any extended pauses in the thread either. I guess we could meet again for a few hours around noon or so your time then not worry about this rp for the rest of the weekend or post rarely. Either way, good night Tenshi. ^_^))

((Actually, I was gone making dinner. sweatdrop Sorry about that. x.x And goodnight, Tenshi. >D

I'll post around noon, but that's about it since I have A LOT of studying to do.))

Kitsune looks around and smiles, pleased with Tenshi's work. That should cause a large enough distraction to keep them all at bay for quite some time. She turns her attention back to the guards standing in the doorway, their heads turning left and right in confusion.

Guard 1: What magic is this?!
Guard 2: I don't know!

Grinning, Anubis moves over to his throne and prepares himself to sit in it. Once settled upon it, he would then dictate his gathered guards and other assorted minions as a proper lord should. Just as he's about to sit down, Anubis' pointed ears pricked forward, hearing what sounded like thunder in the hall and his guards sounding alarms? He growls and turns his attention away from his throne, stepping down from the raised foundation. "What is the meaning of this? MAGE!?"

The mage nearly jumps out of his robes as he hears his master's engraged yell echo in the huge room. Immediately thinking Anubis' sudden anger is his fault, the mage quickly bows down and apologizes over and over, pleading for the dark god's forgiveness. This only succeeds in annoying Anubis more so. The jackle-headed beast calmly walks over to the mage and grabs him by the scarf wrapped around his neck, pulling him up to his face. The dark lord snarls, this action alone is enough to cause the mage to end his apologies. "Yes, my Lord and Master?"

Anubis turns his head toward the guards gathered in the hall, all of them looking about with weapons drawn. "What is going on, Mage? I thought you said you were not followed."

The mage quickly shakes his head, denying the fact that they were followed. He holds his staff up and listens, trying to get a read on what is causing the disturbances. Sure enough, he detects spirits, restless spirits, among other things. He opens his eyes and half gags as Anubis' grip grows tighter. "They're spirits! Spirits from the armies outside, no doubt! They are restless!"

Anubis slowly pulls his wings in behind him and releases the hold he has on the mage. "I see. Guards, put a stop to it. I shall call the magi in to aid you. I shall not have some restless creatures destroying my palace." The guards salute and march out to confront the spirits, their weapons drawn and at the ready. The half-strangled mage adjusts his scarf and coughs, watching as dozens of wraith-like magi swoop down from the dark ceiling and follow after the guards. They endow the otherwise useless weapons with spells that give them power to take down spirits.

The mage turns back to Anubis in time to see him sit down on his throne. "My Lord and Master, I shall go and attend to the records now."

Anubis settles himself in the chair and snorts, not particularly caring what the mage does with himself. "Fine." He raises his hand and flicks his wrist, stopping the sudden downpour in his throne room caused by one of the dark wizards.

The mage bows and leaves the room, disappearing into one of the back halls.

Seeing that most of the guards have moved out and are busy now, Kitsune quickly hops to her feet and makes her way toward the throne room.
