Welcome to Gaia! ::

You're going into 8th grade, too? I had to get 11 packages of index cards and a 3 inch binder that won't fit in my locker....

Wal*Mart has cheap binders that are about 2-4 dollars a piece. They also have metal lockershelves, that are really stable and help with keeping things in place.

Keeping a checklist of what you already have is helpful.

I know that Texas Intruments calculators come with instructions. My friend got one that didn't come with instructions... heh. Not good.
They tried to get me to buy a graphing calculator my senior year. I didn't get one because I wasn't going to have my mom waste all that money. So, I stuck with my regular scientific calculator, passed the class, and felt smarter than all the richies.

In your case, I'd buy the calculator. You will use it from 8th grade+. Just becareful you don't lose it and don't let people steal it! That includes the teachers who I heard try to keep them at the end of school year.
Just get it all and make your teadhers happy. If u can't afford it, then use that as your excuse on why you don't have stuff like a $130 calculator. That was on my school supply list last year and I was the only one who even had one. Don't sweat it.
My advice: get over it. You can reuse most of those things coming years of highschool. And that calculator is going to become your BEST FRIEND when you get into Trig. So stop whining.
lol.
thars alot of stuff.
i didnt buy anything for school, and i go back in four days.. yay. =/

Just wait until you start shopping for college. Suck it up and deal. You'll be using everything on that list soon enough. Seriously, your parents are the ones paying for it anyway.
where do you go to school?
anyway, it's not that weird actually
and i had to have 4 2 inch 3 ring binders for my 7th grade classes. FOUR ******** BINDERS
Wait til you start school, take the minimum stuff you know you'll need right away, your teachers should forwarn what else you need once you get going.
And, I'm sure you can borrow notecards and whatnot from someone else that's bought them when or if you DO need them.
You'll be suprised that you do actually need that s**t.
2 boxes of pencils is really just 2 packs, doesn't matter if they're regular pencils or not, during testing they provide the pencils.
You have lockers for a reason, to put one binder in there when you don't need it.

I had four binders in 8th grade.
Shut the ******** up, and just buy the things.
Its school, get used to it. You are going to need stuff your whole life for jobs school etc. I had to get 4 binders, just dont bring them all home at the same time. And for gods sake - this isnt a life issue.
Ah I remember those stupid class lists...I also remember that for every class there was a different list of things -.-
I can understand some of the things, like colored pencils, a binder, dividers, and of course a calculator but you shouldn't need THAT much; I also agree with the pencils vs mechanical pencils, I hated sharpening pencils.
You could always do like I did; only get some of the stuff and see what happens. I noticed that of all the lists I was given and all the threats the teachers made about how you get in trouble for not having the stuff, only 1 teacher my whole 4 years in high school actually marked you down for not having the stuff...even though we STILL didn't use everything on her list anyway.

I'm glad they stopped requiring set things in college; it gets hard and puts pressure on kids who don't have the money to get the things on their lists.
not a ******** LI, get out now

That is a perfectly ordinary supply list. I'm not sure what the problem is. neutral
