The Power of Three will set you free...

It would really depend if she decides to come home. She lives in Kansas and I live in Pennsylvania. I doubt she'll want to go out... she just had a baby. It is a great idea though and I hope she'll decide to come back and let everyone see baby. I know my boyfriend's parents think she should come back for a week or two before her maternity leave is over (if they didn't discharge her).

Breathe in,

Well congrats on the "niece/nephew" confused lol.
Yeah, it'd probably be good for her to see them, but I understand if she doesn't.
Having a baby will be good for her, keep her busy. Babies are so precious.

Thanks!
Yeah I have no idea what she wants to do. Right now shes a wreck but its good she at least has the baby and the puppies to keep her company. Basically if she decides to come out shes either got to driver herself (she won't leave the dogs with anyone), or someone has to fly out and drive cross-country with her.

Phew! Sounds like a hastle! I can't imagine driving a really long ways with a baby and puppies...lol.
Well, is her family nearby?

No. When they joined the army they both got stationed in Kansas. All of their family is here in PA. While the neighbor's are really nice and everything they won't leave the dogs in their care. I wouldn't be surprised if she never lets them babysit the baby either. They would just send her a plane out here but she has the dogs but really it makes more sense to me to allow the dogs to fly in the kennel. She won't do that to the dogs though.....lol. So I guess if she wants to come out my boyfriend and I have to fly out and we have to take her and her car down here with 2 dogs and a baby. The puppies are pretty good since they've been on car rides, however get really excited when they see a McD's sign xd Or her brother and sister in law will fly out and drive her to North Carolina with them which honestly makes so much more sense to me. Her brother is also in the army and has been through a deployment already. So, her sister in law will be the perfect person to give her advice.

Ha, dogs getting excited about MickeyD's, that's hillarious!
Lol, I'm sure things will all workout. Oh, and North Carolina?! smile That's where I live. Born and Raised a Carolina Girl!

I guess in the meantime, you two can always e-mail/call eachother and such. I'm sure even just having people to talk to would be good for her. razz
Shoot, it's nice weather out these days (around here at least). That should put ANYONE in a better mood. I sooo dislike coldness! lol

my husband was at the end of his final deployment when we married. he's one of my favorite people to debate heart it hurt so bad knowing he was overseas when we started our relationship (we were casual internet friends for 7 years) and he used to be my neighbor (I was too afraid to talk to him IRL lol)

he's back in now, his orders for the reserves just came in and he's on a 2 year deferment, so i dont have to worry about deployment for another 2 years (his 8 year IRR time ends in 3 years) especially now that we have a son together.

I remember when he came home, it was the happiest day of my life. He had talked me through a dark time in my life and a weird/bad relationship I had previous to dating him.

Breathe in,

Hey everyone, I'm Kendra. Thought I'd introduce myself since I'll probably be reading/posting on here some.

As of right now, I'm dating a lovely gentleman named Richard. He's enlisted in the Marines, and will be going off to bootcamp May 30th-31st. Good ole' Parris Island! Just counting down the weeks now. It stinks that he leaves right around the time I get out of school for summer, and won't be back until I'm back in school. Oh well! Just the way it goes I guess. I'll still have a good summer. smile

No idea what the future holds, but I'd enjoy talking on here if you guys wouldn't mind. smile
Breathe out.

It's nice to meet you Kendra! I'm Kirstin. :]

I am so happy to hear that you're so positive about your boyfriend leaving! I wish I was more like that since the time flew by like lightning and I hardly had a chance to blink when my fiance was away at BCT =p Feel free to talk to me about anything if you need even though we come from different military branches! my fiance has been in for a year and i'll be enlisting into the RSP program after our marriage to start my own prep for BCT :]

Breathe in,

Hello, Kirstin! How are you? smile

Well, some days I'm more positive than others...lol.
My stepdad works in the neighboring county as a teacher, and that's where a very popular Marine Base is, so a lot of people my stepdad works with, or kids he teach, all have military family members and such. In fact, my stepdad the other day talked to a Drill Instructor from Parris Island (where my boyfriend is going for Basic)! He was on leave and picking his kid up from school and my stepdad ended up having a nice conversation with him. The guy said his "hat was off" to anyone who joins with things like they are, and that the job my boyfriend is going in for was a good one and such. Made me happy to hear. :]

The thing I love about the millitary is how there are so many people involved. There's always someone out there going through the same thing.

That's awesome about you going in. I've thought about the military before, but, I don't really think it's my thing. I mean, women that are in it I'm all for, and that's a really kickarse job and such, but not for me. razz I'm considering becoming a Speech Therapist at the moment. Then again, my mind could always change. lol
Breathe out.

oh for sure :] a big reason of why i'm enlisting is because i haven't really had a chance to travel or have a big challenge put in front of me and i feel that that's what i really need in my life right now :] i've been feeling sort of REALLY lazy and dead lately xp

that's super cool about your stepdad and the drill instructor tho! i'm quite nervous to meet one cause the first time i will meet one will probably be at basic =p

Breathe in,

Haha, yeah. Military is a popular thing around here.
My boyfriend has sorta been exposed to the military thing for most of his life. He was in a program called "Young Marines" when he was younger, which really seemed to do good for him. (I think his Dad got him into it really, may have even "made" him.) He also does Physical Training and stuff with his recruiter and a buncha other enlisted guys. The 2nd Saturday of every month they have a "Pooly Function" or whatever, where they workout and stuff. They call it that because since they're all enlisted guys they aren't used to the working out as much and look like they just came out of the pool once they're done, all drenched in sweat. lol

Anywho. I'm sure they aren't that scary. Richard says they really know how to motivate you. Sure, they're intimidating, but they're still just people. They're goal is to break 'em, then build them back up stronger and better. So it's not all bad and scary. lol. However, I haven't really faced many myself. Although, as much as my Mom yells and bosses orders, I feel like I have. haha.

Oh and about the lazy thing, I know what you mean! I'm getting a bit slack in school lately, but this is the end of this grading period and next week is spring break. So after that break I'll hopefully come back ready to roll. lol

**ahhh, 6 weeks today until he leaves for bootcamp. :'(
I think waiting is the hardest part, actually. What do ya'll think?**

Would you say that saying "see ya later" gets a little easier later on? Or is it about the same? I know it's gonna be hard this first time, even though I know it's only for a few months...
Breathe out.

Yep! that's exactly what the guys n girls have been telling me =p

along with being in the best shape of his life, his voice is also gonna get deeper after screaming all of those cadences during pt n stuff =p it is sexy as hell tho! haha *reminiscing of being at the airport when i heard steve's voice for the first time when he came home for christmas from bct* lol

absolutely! i mean, during the month of august last year i almost never saw steve cause he got called for this extra 2 week training along with annual training so honestly, I'm so used to it now that i'm not worried about when he gets deployed for the first time :]

Oh hey! Look! I was wondering if i was the only army wife on this site, man, they have EVERYONE here!! =D

Anyways, i think ill start by introducing myself and my hubby!

I married my husband march 9th 2010, a few months before he joined the army, i knew he was going to, its something we talked about from the start, plus, he comes from a military family, mom, grandfather, father, both step dads, almost everyone on his side comes from the military (three air forces two armys lol) Then theres me, the crazy, bipolar, borderline personality "goth" girl, with no history what so ever involving military, other then my hate for war, so safe to say, i had no clue what i was jumping head first into.

Right now my husband has been gone 4 months for BCT and will be gone till the 13th (making it five months) for AIT, before coming home, and leaving again for another month, who knows when for something else that i dont even remember.

Anyways, im still new to this life style, and im still learning (because something civilians dont seem to realize, is all the military terms we have to learn) but i love my husband, he is my rock, and im willing to sacrifice for him, because the gods knows his already done and given up so much for me.

Good for you! My name is Kirstin, welcome to the thread! Regarding what you said about being forced to learn about the military when you're in this type of relationship, you are absolutely right! i actually learned enough about it that i started really liking it and now i'm gonna enlist in the guards after i have a knee surgery :]

Then again, my mind could always change. lol

oh for sure :] a big reason of why i'm enlisting is because i haven't really had a chance to travel or have a big challenge put in front of me and i feel that that's what i really need in my life right now :] i've been feeling sort of REALLY lazy and dead lately xp

that's super cool about your stepdad and the drill instructor tho! i'm quite nervous to meet one cause the first time i will meet one will probably be at basic =p

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Yeah, really, the only thing i was super worried about is when we have to see pics of people with their faces blown off n stuff during med training but i talked to a whole bunch of people on the NG forums and they all made me feel a lot better and lessen the blow of everything :] I'm excited!

but that whole pool thing, that's gross! haha, seems like my fiance after one of his insanity workouts though despite the fact that he's in AMAZING shape *drools* lol

the anticipation of him leaving is really the hardest part. once he's gone the time will seriously fly by like nothing at all biggrin

Breathe in,

I suppose some people just do better with seeing stuff like that than others, but I'm sure if you get the right mindset you'll be fine!

Hahaha! Yeah.....hot, sweaty, military men. Yumyum! biggrin

Breathe in,

Yeah, I'm sure it'll all be worth the wait! Just as for now, I'm trying to enjoy being around Richard. It's just hard for me to be with someone...knowing they're gonna leave. Oh well, I'm just hoping for the best! My Mom keeps saying if it's meant to work it will, which is true. And yeah...I'm sure it'll be like that for me, too, when I see Richie after bootcamp! Geesh! lol. I told him someone's gonna have to pick me up off the floor because I might get overly hot and faint. haha. I'm excited though...just...nervous at the same time.

Don't you hate periods? I'm perfectly fine 80% of the time, and then when it gets that time a month I get soooo freaking emotional! Grrrrr! Like if I ever doubt anything that's the most likely time I will. CURSE YOU HORMONES! lol.

Anyways, how are you? :3 Anything planned for Easter/Spring?

Breathe in,

Aww. The last part was sweet. smile It's happy to see all the married/engaged military couples out there. I love hearing about when couples have been together for many years and one of them or both is in the military. Just goes to show you it can be a great lifestyle, tough but well worth it!

I'm Kendra, my boyfriend Richard is enlisted in the Marines and goes to bootcamp in late May.
Although we haven't been together all that long, it's been great so far and we're just gonna see how the rest works out! I don't really have much experience in this field, so I might not be the best for advice, but I'm here if you ever wanna talk! smile
