Mikusae Strange

Well, from what I've read from people who know about the Bible.
Adam and Eve were the first humans, but not the only ones.
...which has never made any sense to me. So God created more? No one ever seems to say this.

The explanation of this sort of thing differs from Christian teachings, but makes a whole lot more sense to me.

The Christian god, who for arguments sake we can call Yahweh, is a Middle-Eastern god and the only deity in his pantheon, technically. (How lonely!) But the idea is that outside his "territory", in what Genesis called the "land of Nod" or something, there are the "other people". Children of different gods, in a different land. This is how Cain or whoever was able to find a wife, whom he suddenly had and "knew" when he buggered off into said land in Genesis.

That's an idea, anyway, which works better with my classical and mythology lectures, and also my understanding of gods.

O. Zell wrote a nice article called "We are the other people". (He has since gone a bit nutty, but the article's a good one, if you want to google it.)

Because there isn't any proof he exist, and I wouldn't waste my time praying to something that wasn't there.
I couldn't imagine myself believing in something so cruel as the deity described in the Bible. Also, the Christian faith bothers me a bit- why is it that an Athiest who lives a so called "godly" life burn in a theoretical hell, when a mass murderer or child molester can be in the paradise you call Heaven. Also, I have a hard time buying into something that the people who worship don't even follow fully. Furthermore, what makes your God any more right than those who predate it?
i'm agnostic...there either is or there isn't.

Churches dont' like me... I'll leave it at that-

And its not hard to believe in god, we choose not to. Thats why we have that one amendment "Freedom of speech, religion, etc etc" We are our own people, not god's (less of course you pray under him).
Personally i can't, and its that simple. Putting my faith in something like a god that i have no proof exists just doesn't work in my mind. I understand how other people do it through dealing with plenty of them. But when i even try and think about putting my faith in something like a deity such as God my mind does the same thing many peoples does when they try to think of whats at the end of the universe. ie. my mind shuts down for a second, reboots, and refused to try thinking about it again immediately.
I don't believe in your "God" because "he" hasn't done anything right for me. I was christian back then but gave up since nothing went my way. Now I'm following a religion that works for me.
i have a question...
why did god give humans the responiabilty to write the bible?why didnt he make his one then give it to us?
humans make mistakes and could have messed up when writeing it.. humans also could have changed what ever they wanted to changes....

ive heard that we were created in gods image... why are we all soo very diffrent?

What's so hard about not believing in God?

Goddamnit."
"It's like a waltz, isn't it? So wondrous... At a crossroad lit with sunbeams seeming to whisper through the trees..."

Sometimes, I say there is no God. I mean, I kinda am on the scientific side of this story. I don't quite think that God made this world. Still, I pray to him when I'm in need(nothing quite happens) or when going to church on Easter day. That's all.

I know God exists. Computers created him. He, in turn, created Hitler, who in turn created the universe.
How do I know? I found the backup files during my adventure to Atlantis.
Contrary to popular belief, Atlantis is actually under Atlanta, because two miles under the surface of Georgia is actually nothing but an ocean. Tricky, tricky, huh?

stare That's not funny. stare
You LIE. I thought it was hilarious. XD
Second, that was pretty good.

Anyway, this whole thread screams troll.

Same here!
Because we've got so very much proof otherwise.

Because dinosaurs aren't discussed.

Because of the discrepancies, the bible has multiple authors. They're are MANY, MANY disagreements. And of course, "plot holes" like Adam and Eve and their children being incest and God apparently hates that nowadays?

To much trouble in the world. We may have responsibility according to God, but he often stopped wars in the bible, or made the correct motions to fix the overall issue. Now look at Iraq. God lost his touch, or what?
