Significance of Star Tattoos on Females?

I live in NY and I run into several women on a daily basis during my commute who have star tattoos on their hands, foot or neck. Is there any particular reason why that tattoo seems to be so popular? I know many pornstars have a star tattooed on their lower back.. so does it have some sort of sexual innuendo? Or due to it being such a small and basic shape, is it just like one of the most affordable tattoos?

Yeah. When a person gets older, their tattoos tend to look pretty gross. Plus I hear a lot of people who opt for really cheap tattoos get urine & burnt checkers injected into their skin as the dye.. and that combination is why you see some people who have faded tattoos.

Yes, but I think stars are the lesser of two evils.

At least they're simple and clean looking... or can be.
Most butterfly tattoos I've seen have monarch markings on them and the person wearing them reminds me of sticker albums or Barbie or something.

Then again, I prefer simple and clean designs overall.

If I ask a person why they have a tattoo, and they can't give me a reason why the symbol/letters mean something to them on a personal level, I stop giving a s**t before I even start. So I have no ******** clue. The only time I've met someone with a star tattoo that meant something to them, it was in the form of a Pentagram.
