Hello all!

It was recently brought to our attention that there seems to have been some misunderstanding about if users were allowed or not to run multiple instances of Lake Kindred at the same time. This has now been addressed here and here.

Hi there,

Plain and simple so it will not be misunderstood or worked around.

Do not do this. You should not be able to in the first place, and we are looking into closing your ability to do so. Now that it is known, if you continue to do so, you will be considered exploiting the system. Until further notice, this includes running multiple instances in the same/different browsers.

Just in case you believe you haven't been told you can not do this:

Gaia's Terms Of Service

Attempting to circumvent the intended use of the game is a violation of our Terms of Service and is not permitted. Please keep in mind that making attempts to alter or user Gaia in ways it was not intended can result in further warnings or possibly a ban to your account.

      This person isn't with Gaia anymore, but two years ago we were told that it's okay as long as we're actually playing and not botting. So this has changed since then? ATS May 30, 2017 -- codemonkey

      If so, you might want to make a very public announcement or staff notice... because a lot of us have been assuming (based on codemonkey's response) that we're allowed and won't be punished. I'll make a thread in the LK forum but it'll mean something more coming from a staff member.

Hi there,

Until/Unless you hear otherwise what I said now applies. Rules change, and the most current is what you should go by.

Further clarification on this was posted here;

Unfortunately, that statement was incorrect. Developers, while they work on and usually know a fair bit about features, are not always up to date on how a feature is covered by the Terms of Service. Running multiple instances of games has always been disallowed, and most of the older games/flash features have things in place that actively prevent it from even being possible.

Running multiple instances allows a user to get more rewards from the game than someone playing as intended, and is at a basic level exploiting the system that doesn't actively kill your first session when you start a 2nd (like, say, how it does in Fishing). Exploitation like this is treated the same way botting is, and running multiple instances of the game (even if they are different accounts, just played at the same time) is exploiting the system in order to get more rewards. As such, it isn't allowed.

Thanks for understanding!
