As she sat in the back of a cab, waiting anxiously to arrive at her destination, Alexis was growing more nervous by the minute about her secret plan. She half expected to be met at the front gate by a group of officials prepared to tell her how foolish and unappropriated this was. After all, isn't that how they would treat a girl who was purposefully enrolling in an all-boys academy?

Normally, Alexis (now Alex for the purpose of the new male image) would never have attempted to do anything like this, in fact, she would have found it pretty odd if she had heard of anyone else doing it, but here she was, pulling up to the school with all her luggage, dressed like a guy with a haircut to match. Her mother, the only other person who knew exactly what she was doing, had often asked her if she was sure she was doing this for the right reason, and she had always answered back yes with not so much as a seconds hesitation. But now, she was beginning to question herself. She was going to convince her old friend to get back into sports and keep the promise they had made to each other when they were young to become professional athletes. Now, a few years later, she was well on her way to stardom, and he, well from what she had heard, he wasn't doing to well at all. When she left home she was convinced that she had to do this, but now, as she walked across the schools large front yard and into the attendance building, she wasn't so sure. After all, she hadn't seen her old neighbor in years, they never talked on the phone and rarely exchanged e-mails. So why was she going to all this effort to make sure that some boy was her future competition? Shaking her head to rid it of all the negative thoughts Alexis picked up her dorm key and made her way to her new room, trying to re-convince herself that what she was doing was for the best.

Azure closed his art book, threw it at the teacher's desk before going out of the classroom. Watching his attitude, the teacher stood up and angrily called him over "Mr.Perkins, come back to the class! Finish your artwork before leaving" Only turned his head back, he answered "I have done it already" She opened the art book and got angrier "You call it an art product? This is even not as good as a picture of a child in kindergarten" Azure just smiled "Don't you know it is an abstract" Then he kept going forward until disappearing behind the wall. "Mr.Perkins....Mr.Perkins...."
Azure threw himself on the grass, looking at the bright sky and sighed "Everybody is foolish. How long do I have to stay here?..." In the shade of the tree, Azure closed his eyes and let the harmony of breezing leaves take him to the world of dreams.....
Azure fell onto the ground. A boy passed him and laughed mockingly at him " Loser, is that all you can do?" Azure tried to stood up but he could not. The training he took the day before was so hard that he had to suffer from a severe muscle strain at the moment. Dammit. I can't lose... That boy reached the finishing line in the applause of the audience.
"Nooooooooooo....."
Azure woke up. He was still there, under the tree. "That nightmare came again." Holding his head for a while, he came back to the dorm room to wash his face. Staying awake is better than having that nightmare again. Thought so, he started running.
He unlocked the door and stepped inside. Well, the room was kind of messy but Azure did not bother to clean it up. Pants, jeans, T-shirts and even underpants were lying all around. He picked up the tower and ưent straight to the bathroom. Did not bother to take off his clothes, Azure turned on the shower and closed his eyes. He remembered the day when we was still a first year student, he used to have a room mate that he regarded as his best friend, but that friend turned his back to him when he found Azure was not necessary for him anymore. " Enough to think back..." He turned off the shower, took off the clothes and used the towel to cover his body. Water on his wet hair was still dripping on the floor. He walked to his wardrobe and was about to change clothes. He was trying to get his mind blank at that time.

It took Alexis a little while to find her dorm room then it would have if she had a map but, unfortunately for her, the school's secretary was all out and his verbal directions confused her more then she would have been just guessing. Still, she made it in pretty good time and was surprised to find her room unlocked when she got there. "That's pretty careless of the school. I hope none of the furniture is damaged." she said quietly to herself as she picked up her duffel bag and opened the door.

After taking a few steps into the room Alexis looked up to see a very tall, and handsome looking boy standing with his back to her in nothing but a towel wrapped carelessly around his waist. She froze instantly. "AH! I expected having to deal with naked guys but not my first day!" she screamed inside her head, stumbling back and almost tripping over her own bag as it fell to the floor. This made a loud noise and obviously brought attention to her. "Ah!" she yelled as she took another step and actually did trip over her luggage, causing her to fall on her butt. "Sorry, I didn't know anyone, I mean, I wasn't expecting..." she couldn't think of the right thing to say, her mind was spinning way to fast and she was much to embarrassed to look up to see the boys reaction. She could feel the blood rushing to her cheeks and did her best to scurry to her feet again while pretend to be busy picking up her bags to hide the blush. "Um, is this room 3a?" she asked quickly, hoping she had somehow gotten the wrong room. As her back was turned Alexis made sure her chest was still bound and her cloths were still on a bit sloppy so that it hide her figure. This was her first encounter with a guy as one of them and she had to be convincing. Turning around Alexis hoped her blush had gone down enough to be unnoticeable and slouched a bit to hide her chest even more. "Just answer me so I can leave."

Azure startled when he heard a noise behind. He turned around and saw a small boy over there. Hah... the trouble of living with another has come. Azure stood up "Yes, room 3A" and he came nearer with a cocky smile "... and welcome you to the hell on earth". At that time, a boy walked by with a piles of books and stopped at the door for a while. "Hey Aza, don't treat new student like that unless you want to listen to the Headmaster's private lecture again. And don't walk around with your tower so usually!" Azure laughed out loud and went back inside to take on clothes. The boy looked at the new student and smiled at him sympathetically "Good luck with that monster. He had kicked 6 students outta this room. Hope that you won't be the seventh". Then he left as quickly as he came. For Azure, he had found himself an clean item of clothing and put it on before coming back to his new roommate. he came close and looked straight into those eyes still opening wide "I will keep watching you and seeing how long you can stay here. Better have a good attitude, little brat."

Alexis looked up at the half-naked boy in front of her, a somewhat terrified expression on her face as he welcomed her in the eeriest manner possible. This was to be her roommate? Something told her they would not be getting along nicely. As she heard a voice the girl looked backwards at a strange new boy with a load of books in his arms, he looked much more scholarly then the one he had addressed as "Aza", but lacked the same muscular build. Still, she instantly favored him since he seemed to be the nicer of the two. As she boys conversed, seeming to pay no real attention to what she was doing she was appalled to hear what was being said. "Six roommates, and they were all guys, how in the world am I supposed to deal with this, I have more important things on my plate, like my grades or getting on the track team or finding Azure." Putting her bags on the free bed and taking a momentary seat she shook her head. This was going to be harder then she thought. She was about to play everything they had said off and tell the nice boy that she was tougher then that and it would take more then a harsh greeting to get rid of her but as soon as he had appeared he had gone. She sat there, staring at the door in hopes of his return, she didn't want to be alone with this "Monster Aza".

With a creek of the bathroom door the tall boy came back into the room (and with clothes to Alexis' relief), but when as he came forward she began to lean back a bit, getting scared again. "Little brat?" she echoed in her head, "Who is he calling a little brat?!" This guy was getting on her nerves. "My name is Alex." she pronounced slowly, as if the boy were stupid. "And isn't it the schools call whether I stay or go? Don't act so cocky." she said firmly, standing up and turning around to start her unpacking.

Azure laughed out loud. "You are only a big mouth, dude. We'll see who will be the loser" And he came back to his bed, not forgot to pick up the things on the floor and threw it at the basket. There will be many interesting things in this year. Smiled Azure. He took on a jacket and stepped outside but before he left, he put on the sneakers and pretended to be talking alone "Yah.... It's dinner time and I don't want to hear the sound of stomach going on strike..." Then he went out and headed to the cafeteria. He might act so cocky but in fact he was somehow happy because he had a new room mate. The first six others only ran away but this Alex dared to challenge him. "I'll wait if you could come to the cafeteria or not..."

Alexis stopped her unpacking and looked at her roommate with her hands on her hips. She couldn't believe how stubborn he was being, maybe when she found Azure she could transfer rooms to get him as a roommate instead of this obnoxious jerk. Until then she could be just as stubborn. "I guess we will." she said back, trying to get in the last word. As he started to talk again the girl went back to her unpacking and shuffled around the room to make sure that he hadn't taken up her dresser and night stand with all he things which he had been kind enough to pick up off the floor, something told her that had nothing to do with being nice and trying to clean up the room for her. She grunted as he finished his sentence, why was he even telling her this, she didn't care what he was doing. Then, as she turned to tell him this she realized that he wasn't even addressing her, he was just talking to himself. "Weirdo." she muttered under her breath before stuffing some t-shirts in a drawer.

Azure was walking along the corridor. In the twilight, Azure's shadow followed him in every step that he took. He smiled to himself "Anyway you are my best friend, shadow" The main hall was ahead. People were busy recruiting for their sport clubs with their leaflets. Very noisy. Azure remembered about his first days at this school. People ran around him and finally he had to come back to his dorm room with stacks of club invitation while his hands were all full of luggage. That one helped him to open the door... Dammit, why I remember those memory? Thought so, he continued walking to the cafeteria.
There is nothing special in today's menu so Azure guessed he should have a light dinner, such as a hamburger and a coke. Thought so, he came to the vending machine for the coke. "I'm lucky, this is the last coke..." Suddenly there was some voice from behind "Hey, that's mine". Azure turned around and saw some boys standing there, the boy who had said to Azure was shirtless to show off his six packs. "Pardon? I used my money to buy it" Talked Azure and he was somehow irritated. "I want a coke and it's the last one SO it belongs to me." The boy standing next to him grinned " Don't try to pick up a fight with our football captain" "Hah..Really? Unreasonable..." Then Azure walked slowly out of the cafeteria. "Dare to ignore my saying, loser?" Said the football captain and he grabbed Azure then gave him a punch.Really irritated, Azure did not bother to say anything and punched back. People gathered around and they became excited "Fight! Fight! Fight!..." At that time he felt painful but he could not stop. I'm not a loser... Azure started becoming unconscious...

It didn't take Alexis very long to finish most of her unpacking, especially since all of her important things, the girly necessities of life that no one could see but her, were hidden in a compartment in her suitcase under a false bottom. She had made it herself and was quite proud of her skills, after all, not many people would think of this, let along be able to make it. But, just encase someone decided to have a look anyways she closed the zipper and stuffed the suitcase far underneath her bed. Now, the only thing that was even the slightest bit odd for a boys room anywhere in sight was a stuffed animal made of velvet sitting on her pillow. It was a puppy were soft brown fur and dark, chocolaty ears with only a few worn out spots, which was impressive considering how long she had had it. Azure had given it to her once when they were young and it had been her favorite companion ever since he left. So, one would understand why she had brought it, but she still wasn't sure if she should leave it out in the open, after all, she didn't know many men with sentimental toys. Still, she needed to keep it somewhere she could grab it before going to sleep. "I guess he'll be fine under my pillow." she said softly, reluctant to hide the old thing away as she laid her blue pillow on top of it, concealing it completely.

Just then Alexis' stomach growled and she realized that her roommate wasn't the only one who needed food. So, quickly glancing around the room to make sure nothing was out of place, "Alex" grabbed her coat and ran out the door, making sure to lock it on the way out. After that it didn't take long to find the cafeteria, it seemed everyone was going there, attracted by some unknown cause. However, when she got there herself she instantly understood the reason. Her roommate, "Aza was it?" had gotten into a fight with some shirtless guy and his friends, it was almost painful to watch as the light-haired male getting punched from every direction and even though he was fighting back pretty well it was clear he was going to lose. This made Alexis feel sort of bad for him. Sure, he was a jerk and seemed hell-bent on being mean to her but he didn't deserve to be beat up by a bunch of air-headed jocks. Pushing her way through the circle that had accumulated around the boys it took the girl a minute before she finally got into the ring and was able to throw one of the guys off her roommate. "Leave him alone." she said in a sturdy tone, doing her best to deepen her voice to sound like an actual guy. Unfortunately, as she expected, the guys weren't to happy about her interference and started throwing some punches in her direction as well. This is were being smaller then your average male came in handy. Although the blond wasn't as tough as some of the guys she was definitely faster then most of them and knew how to use momentum to make her fists fly. "This is going to be fun." she thought quickly, getting ready to fight as a smirk appeared on her lips.

Argh... It hurts everywhere. Azure's mind was gradually out of conscious when suddenly he saw somebody fighting in front of him. The flashback brought him to his past. There were two kids playing under a tree when some big boys came by and wanted to steal the candies. With the hope of protecting his childhood friend's property, Azure stood out to fight against them but in the end, he was beaten so quickly. Luckily his childhood friend had run calling for help of the adults so Azure was saved. But... why couldn't I remember her face?....

Kevin had just reached the cafeteria when he saw the fight. He was the one with a pile of books before and who sat beside Azure in class, maybe they were not totally best friends but very close anyway. What is that? Dammit, that stupid Aza kept messing things up again. Is that the new student? How come he get involved in that fight? If I do nothing, there will be big trouble. He looked at his watch and smiled "Good timing!" and he came near the fight and shouted out loud "The headmaster is coming!..." Right after hearing that, the crowd dispersed quickly. The main reason was in a fixed time of a day, the Headmaster often went to the cafeteria to check out his students' condition, and Kevin took advantage of that event in the right time. The football guyz seemed to be very irritated but they still had to leave. "Tch.... You two are lucky" Then they left, did not forget to pick up the coke. Kevin hastily ran to Azure and the new student's place, gave him a thankful look "Thank you, dude. If you were not here, Aza might be beaten to death." And he tried to wake Azure up "Aza, wake up! Can you hear me?" After a while, it seemed that Kevin's effort could not change this situation, he turned to the new student "Well, he is unconscious. Could you please help him up so that I could carry him on my back?... Oh I almost forgot to introduce, my name is Kevin."

It had been a while since Alexis had really gotten into a fight seeing as she was a girl and back home girls usually would sneek around and try to hurt each other indirectly instead of having a good, old-fashions, fist-fight. That was one of the reasons she never had many female friends, they were always so deceitful. So, being that she was a bit out of practice, it didn't surprise her that the first guy who took a swing caught her jaw and cut her lip a bit, it didn't hurt as much as she thought though. She was more careful as more swings came at her, dodging them and throwing a few herself before a voice rang out and everyone seemed to scatter at once. The guys she was fighting seemed more hesitant to disperse then the spectators but as their leader stood there and thought it out for a moment she wasn't surprised to see him pick up a coke can on the floor and walk away. "Jerks." she muttered under her breath, "What was that fight even about?"

Once she was sure that the group was gone Alexis turned around to see the boy that had entered her dorm room earlier, he must have been the one to call everyone off and she was thankful he had shown up. "'The headmaster is coming.' Nice, I'll have to remember that for next time." she said graciously before turning to Aza on the floor behind her. He was in pretty bad shape, although she had to admit she almost liked him better now that he was unconscious. His expression was a lot more gentle and he seemed almost cute the way his hair bushed over his face. "To bad his so despicable." she thought with a smirk. She nodded slowly as the boy across from her thanked her for saving his friends, although she didn't think they would go as far as to kill him. "Hey, I can't let him die yet," she said jokingly, "I still have to convince him I'm not a 'Little Brat'." With that she began pulling him up to do as Kevin asked. "Kevin, that's a nice name. I wonder if he knows Azure." "It's nice to meet you Kevin. I would say it's nice to met Aza to but he hasn't exactly been the easiest person to know so far." she said sarcastically, trying to be nice and honest at the same time.

"Hahaha... Aza might be cruel but he is a good boy. You will see it soon" Said Kevin and he looked up to the sky " I wish he in the past could come back...." Realized that he had said something really nonsense, he changed the topic and tried to make the new student talk more about himself. It took not so long for them to reach the dorm room. Kevin put Azure on the bed then used his collar to sweep the sweat drops on his face "Well, stay safely here. Take care of him for me, okay?" Before leaving, he searched his pocket carefully and took out a bandage with a smile. "This one is for you, excellent fighter. What should I call you, new boy?"

Consciousness came back to Azure. Things were getting clearer when he opened his eyes. Azure realized he was in his room, on his own bed. "What happened? I thought I was in the cafeteria....?" Azure sat up and rubbed his eyes walking to the fridge to find some cool water. His body was still full of pain so it became difficult for Azure to move. Someone was talking at the door. Taking a glance, he saw Kevin and Alex out there. Maybe they had just brought Azure back here and by looking at the untidy shirt of Alex, he could infer that the one who was fighting in front of him in the cafeteria was Alex. Well, maybe that boy was not totally a weakling as his look. Smiled Azure when he secretly gave Alex a thankful look from behind

Alexis looked back at the boy on Kevin's shoulders and smiled, shaking her head. As cute as he was unconscious, he would wake up eventually, and something told her he would suddenly have a soft side for her. "Good boy", that almost made him sound like a dog. A scruffy, stray with a bad temper, why not? Alexis had always had a thing for animals, as most girls do, but dogs especially. Maybe she would like Aza more if she began to picture him as a dog instead of a boy, it couldn't hurt. However, he'd never be a great dog, great dogs protected you, they were loyal and true and did their best to keep you safe. People rarely had that quality. In fact, the only person Alexis had ever met that really protected her was Azure. "Maybe he would make a good dog too. Aza and Azure." she thought cheerfully, trying to transform what she could remember of her childhood friend and her new roommate into a couple of canines, it didn't work to well.

Alexis' attention was brought back to reality when Kevin started talking again, he said something about Kevin in the past but she didn't quite catch what so she just nodded cheerfully. When they got to the dorm she helped him lay down Aza's body on his bed and then saw Kevin to the door. She agreed to look after his friend and took the band-aid he handed her graciously. "Oh," she said, almost startled when she realized she had not introduced herself, "Sorry, my name is Alex. Please come by again later, I don't want to be stuck alone all day." she offered with a light smile, forgetting for a moment that she was supposed to be acting manly at the moment.

When the two had said their good-byes and Kevin had left Alexis closed the door behind him and went to put the band-aid on her cheek since she had gotten a small cut there as well as her lip. She saw Aza in the corner having a drink of water. "Oh, look, you're alive." she said sarcastically, before walking over to her own bed and dropping her body onto the sheets. That fight hadn't lasted long but it had been long enough to ware her out.

"Well Alex, we'll have chance to talk soon. I think you are already tired now. See ya tomorrow." With a smile, Kevin left and went back to his room, thought to himself. What an adorable kid!
Azure put the bottle back in the fridge at the same time he saw Alex came in. He came back to his bed, avoided looking into Alex's eyes "Thank you. I take back what I said before." A silence between them. Azure sat down, took out a book from under his pillow and pretended to read. The silence make him sigh. Maybe I was too harsh. What have I missed? "Now I remember, I even haven't introduce myself properly. My name is Azure, Azure Perkins. People who are close to me often call me Aza. You can call me so, I don't mind" And he continued pretending reading that book for a while until he realized he was still looking at the content page.
