Alex Hood
Alexis was a bit thrown off by what Azure said about his own team. She didn't quite understand what he meant but realized they must have both been pretty tired and decided to leave it alone. She snuggled into the blankets even more, hiding a majority of her face, with the exception of her eyes which closed softly after a few moment of fixating on her old friend. Since he knew who she was she didn't even try to hide her dog anymore, and his head was peeking out of the covers just like hers as his body was being constricted by her little arms.
The next morning the tight, little cocoon that the girl had constructed out of her blankets was utterly destroyed and her blankets were sprawled everywhere while still barely covering her body. Her arms were spread wide like eagles wings and her legs were curled together to the left side of her body, giving her an odd look, as though she was going to jump into the air at any moment. But when her alarm woke her up she quickly reached out her arm to turn it off and pulled herself out of bed to get ready for the day. Usually, Alexis was the least like herself in the mornings, she hated everything about the mornings, the waking up, the taunting of a comfy bed while you got dressed and brushed your teeth, everything was just so depressing. But this morning was different. Instead of focusing on the fluffy pillows a few feet away she was focusing on her track meet just half an hour away, it was going to be so fun. She had half a mind to wake up Azure and drag him along with her, eager to show off. However, she decided against it, hoping that if he had a bit more time to sleep he would come see her anyways, and even be happy about it. So, all dressed up in her jogging uniform, Alexis practically skipping out of the room and down the hall, thrilled to get started on her running.
In the beginning of the track meet there was a competition with another school just before the try-outs. It was probably a ploy to get some kids who weren't planning to be on the team to try out anyways, but since Alexis already couldn't wait for her chance to shine the runners were making her jump up and down in her seat even more. It was thrilling. Soon after she arrived the competition was over and people began filling the track for try-outs. She was one of them. Because she was in front of the crowd of kids in line the president of the club picked her as one of the five that was going first. This was amazing!
As she lined up for the race Alexis found herself in the middle lane, lined by two boys on both sides. It was a little striking to be surrounded by guys, usually she was competing with at least one other girl, it felt different being alone out here, but no one knew but her so she had to keep it to herself, and that's sort of what she liked about running anyways, being alone and relying on no one but herself. She got all the blame and all the glory, it was the best part of her passion. So, with a deep breath, and the sound of a gun shot, they were off. Everyone was running, and Alexis thought that she had met her match with two of the boys for a moment, but after a while there legs began to tire and hers did not. She had this determined look on her face that looked like she could never loose, as though she knew she was going to win no matter what, and in the middle of the expression a tiny smile was hidden, and it grew even bigger as she finished the first lap and she was in first place. She was going to win!
