A pillow hit her face, what a familiar greeting in the morning. Oliver was growling in her doorway for her to get up. The black haired female instead planted her face in her pillow and flicked off her older brother. This granted an early morning rough house. Yep, just a typical morning in the Maddox household. After wrestling with her brother Astrid lazily reached for her phone. 9am, well she was late already on her first day of school. Oh well, it's not as if anyone expected otherwise, except for maybe this new school seeing how today was her first day and all. Slowly but surely the lazy female crawled her way out of her bed and into the shower, washing up and getting dressed. Black high waisted jeans, an mtv crop top, leather jacket, cream socks that would poke just slightly over the tops of her black boots. Red lipstick applied and hair tousled just right she was looking ready for her first day of school back in her home town. Astrid was never sure why they moved back here, but she had to guess it was because of her mother's weird mood swings. She hated their neighbors. An old family feud brewed between her and the next door neighbors. They threw her father in jail under false pretenses, disgusting, but something that Astrid really wasn't too interested in interfering with. This was more her mother's battle than hers.

The female ate a pop tart really quick and then grabbed her brown leather bag situated by the door. Astrid played with her lip ring with her tongue as she read over the post it note. Your brother took the car to college, and your sister is already at school. I'm currently job hunting, but your school supplies are all in here. Try not to cause too much trouble. Love, Mom. No promises. Astrid kicked the door closed behind her and flicked her lighter on against her american spirit cigarette. The female inhaled as she held the lighter still and soon enough the cherry was glowing red. Her blue eyes danced as she looked at the house next door. Everything was quiet right now. People at their jobs or at school. The house looked so still. It was there the people lived who had sent her father to prison. Her eyes lingered a moment more and then she exhaled smoke and carried on her way.

The school was close enough that Astrid could walk, and enjoy her cigarette which she dropped on the ground when the school came into view, exhaling her last puff of smoke before entering the building. You wouldn't have known that the girl was now bordering on being two hours late for school with how calm she was walking. Astrid pulled out a piece of paper that had her schedule printed on it. It was now third period so she had to go to english. The one subject she could be considered talented at besides art or music. She thought she was home free until she heard someone call out to her.

" Miss? What are you doing, you're late for class."

Astrid inhaled in an annoyed fashion before plastering a smile on and turning on her heels to look at the teacher that approached her. He was a short stubby man, middle aged and balding. "Sorry, it's my first day and I overslept. " His nose wrinkled as he came closer.

" You smell like smoke… were you smoking? " The female's eyes widened in feign innocence.

" Oh goodness, no. My mother does you see, and she drove me here. " He looked a little relieved, man she was too good at acting.

" Very well, you should get to class before you get into trouble. " Astrid had to stifle a laugh, if only he knew. Before she knew it she was standing outside her classroom doorway, watching in the small window on the door as the teacher rambled on. Astrid knocked lightly and then poked her head in. " Uh, i'm Astrid, the new student. " Smooth. Luckily the teacher looked delighted at her presences and scooted her in front of the class. Mean while Astrid stood at the front trying to look focused on whatever she was stammering on about as she introduced her to the class. Astrid gave a little smile and nod as she was introduced and then was pointed at a free seat. Her blue eye flashed upon the face of a boy that she was going to be seated next to. Not bad looking, not bad looking at all. A small ringing of recognition buzzed in her head, but she couldn't put a name on him. Oh well, she'd figure him out.

Astrid sat next to him at the two person table and flashed a smile, or what she considered a smile. It really looked like a mischievous smirk in reality. " Hey, I'm Astrid. Take care of me while I'm here, ok? "

The hour was flying by and it was then Astrid knew she needed to make a move. " Why don't you ditch with me later. Cut your last class and come with me to a coffee shop, " the girl spoke as she scribbled her number down on a piece of paper. " I'll be waiting for you by the side entrance of the school…unless you're scared " again she was smirking as she pressed the piece of paper into his palm. " I'll be waiting. " Just like that the female was on her way out of the classroom, rather looking forward to the last hour of school.

A wise king once told me,
"We are one."
I didn't know what that meant.
But now I do.

The boy laid in his bed fast asleep in a dream that had been continous the whole night. He was happy and calm in the dream up until he heard a faint beeping. The noise grew louder and louder up until he realized that the sound was going from the outside word. Parker grew concious by the second and finally his eyes fluttered open fully. A small yarn formed from the young males mouth before he grabbed onto his phone and shut the device off. He then contemplated rolling over and catching a few more moments of sleep but decided against it. If he fell back asleep he would be out for much longer than expected due to the fact that there was no one else in the house to wake him up. His mom and dad were both at work and they didn't have a maid helping around the house.

Even though they were extremely wealthy, and had more money than they knew what to do with, they always acted like a normal family. He was thankful for what he had but he never understood why his dad didn't move them into a mansion or why they didn't have a ton of staff downstairs taking care of the little things. Overall he never questioned it and just assumed that he didn't want him to grow up to be a spoiled brat. It was working too because, unlike most kids born into wealthy families, he didn't care to much about materialistic things. Everything he wore wasn't some over priced name brand, his car wasn't foreign in the slightest, and he could have moved into a nice new house on his own but decided to stay at his parents house.

Quickly Parker rolled out of bed and walked over to his closet and pulled some clothes out for the day. Once he was dressed he pulled a hat off his dresser and threw on his head since he didn't quite feel like dealing with his hair today. He was then on his way out of the house with his keys in his pocket and his bag on his back. Although the school was close enough to walk he always liked taking his 76' Mustang out for a drive. It wasn't in perfect condition but that's kind of why he liked it. The car was nice but not enough to draw so much attention to himself when he arrived places.

The drive was only five minutes and when he got there he cut the engine and pulled his bag from the passenger side. Parker hopped out of the car and began heading straight for his English class. He knew that as soon as he stepped onto campus the bell would ring. Diiiiing. Of course, he was right. The boy made his way through the halls smiling and saying hello to people on his way. It has been almost four years since he had made it to high school and he had made a ton of friends since. People just gravitated towards him and wanted to his friend and he didn't mind in the slightest. Really, he was use to dealing with large masses of people thanks to his dad. With all the business dinners and meetings he had learned to make nice regardless if he liked them or not.

Finally he made his way into the classroom and took a seat in the second row to the front. In a matter of minutes the teacher walked in and began the lesson.

The class had been in session for a good while now and was almost halfway through. They were just about to get started on an assignment when everything got silent all of a sudden. Parker lifted his head from the desk and then over to the front when he heard an unfamiliar voice coming from up front. His eyes caught sight of a girl with dark black hair and intense blue eyes. Already, he could tell she was trouble but he didn't mind. Maybe she would make this class interesting for once. What he was really focused on was the fact that he felt like he had seen her before. In different year of highschool did they had a class together? Did they pass by each other in the hall? No and no, due to the fact that she was new. With that thought he threw away his suspicion and assumed she just looked like someone he had seen in a crowd once.

At the end of the teacher's spiel she was instructed to sit by him and this didn't surprise him in the slightest. The entire year he had an empty seat next to so it was only a matter of time before someone filled it. When this girl, Astrid, walked over and sat she smiled at him and he returned the gesture. "Parker, no problem." The way she curved her lips he knew she wasn't just being polite. He could tell she had an ulterior motive and so he smiled a bit more. The rest of the year was going to be...interesting.

The last hour or so of class dragged on and it felt like he'd been in there forever. Parker looked up at the clock and there was only two more minutes and then it was off to the next. He sat there patiently up until he heard Astrid speak up once more. He turned his head over to her and listened to her offer. At the end of it the bell rang and she was up and out the door before he could even respond. Him, scared? The brunette male was hardly scared any more and was always up for an adventure.

The bell was trilling in her ears. It was time for her last period, gym. Wonder why she picked last period to skip? Well, now it was clear. A chain smoker and physical exercise just did not mix, so with cat like reflexes and ninja like skills she was slipping out the side door of the school, and settling herself into the grass. The female sat against the brick wall, making sure she was out of sight from the widows framing the hallway. She half wondered if he would actually show up. He kind of exuded a bit of mischievousness, but Astrid was never really that great at reading people. Her nerves acted up slightly. Was she really that antsy about a boy already? It was very unlike her. The female pulled out her pack of gold american spirit cigarettes again and lit one up, savoring the relaxing feeling the nicotine brought her. The female exhaled smoke through her nose and thought about the male, Parker was his name huh? Even the name rang some faint bells.

However, there was no more time to dwell on that because the side door was opening. You'd think she'd jump, get scared. After all, if it were a teacher she would be dead, and on her first day, but the male was poking his head out the door and was soon in full view. Astrid grinned, cigarette clenched between her teeth. " we better go before someone sees. I know a good coffee shop. " Astrid was pulling at his sleeve to move along, after all they couldn't stay so close to the building if they were standing, eventually someone was bound to walk through the hallway and see them outside.

It was a little bit of a quiet walk, Astrid not really knowing what to say. She was rather impulsive, though that was apparent in her actions. She had asked a boy to ditch class and get coffee with her, but she had her reasons. There was a little something more than just attraction, some sort of magnetic pull, a connection. It was hard to explain the feeling, especially since she was sure she had never met him before…had she? " How long you been living around these parts Parker? " Innocent enough question, asked nonchalantly as she stomped out her second cigarette butt of the day. If he had lived here his whole life perhaps she had met him before she moved?

The coffee shop was in full view and Astrid was smiling from ear to ear. It was a small place, local, definitely no starbucks that's for sure, but with more care and dedication put into each cup of coffee, and lower prices. " One medium soy caramel latte, and whatever this guy wants, " she paused to glanced over her shoulder at Parker, " I did ask you to come after all, today's my treat. " After both of their orders were put in and they received their drinks Astrid settled in a comfy chair in the back corner, curling her legs up, cupping the mug to her face and taking a healthy gulp. The best place was that this coffee shop was not super well known, but Astrid remembered coming her a lot as a kid with her mom and dad. No one would know they were skipping here. " So Parker, what is it you do for fun in this small little town? " Another sip of her latte. " I heard rumors of a party floating around, could be fun. " This was just like Astrid, always looking for her next adrenaline rush. " Unless you're not into that kind of stuff. " The female shrugged slightly. It made no difference if he was or wasn't to her. Sure, it'd be fun to see him there but she knew how these small towns tended to run. " You know, you look familiar to me, but I just can't put my finger on it. " She squinted her blue eyes at him and shrugged. " Guess it was just destined we meet our something. " She was of course joking…or maybe half joking. After all, connection or not it was no secret she found him attractive, she even thought he was very well aware of that. However, this didn't make her shy, or want to talk to him less. It was in her personality to be laid - back, especially when it came to these kinds of things.

ooc | thought maybe a party would be fun of them later on ~ hope this was enough to go off of! c:

A wise king once told me,
"We are one."
I didn't know what that meant.
But now I do.

It was the very end of his History class and he was jotting down some notes that he had failed to keep up with. He was slightly distracted but this was nothing new. Every day he would sit in a classroom filled with thirty or so people and halfway through he would simply drift off. One minute he would be learning about government issues and the next he'd be thinking about something completely random. Parker had just finished the last sentence when the bell went off and people around him began exiting. Calmly he packed up his things and headed out the door like the rest of him. Usually, at this point, he would be making his way across campus to his math class but today was going to be just a little bit different. Instead, he hung a left and began heading towards the doors that led to the football field. Although he didn't ditch too often, not feeling the need, he always knew that getting out through the back was the easiest form of escape. Once he made it to the big double doors that led out to the field he looked over his shoulder to see if he was being followed. He knew, if anything, he could simply say that he left his book in his car and he needed to go get it. The teacher would probably deny him the right or watch him like a hawk as he did but it was definitely better than risking detention. Luckily, there wasn't the need since the halls were almost empty and not a single faculty member was in sight. He knew he was clear and so he pushed his way out the door and walked out a few feet. Immediately he looked to his left and then, even before he could to his right, he already felt someone tugging at his rolled up sleeves. Parker placed his eyes on her and smiled at her words. Was she...nervous? "No one's around. We're good." He wasn't exactly sure how she was really feeling but he figured he might as well reassure her. She then let go of him and so he walked a few steps ahead so he could show her the way out. As he walked he began rolling his sleeve like it had been before she latched on to him. He then looked over to her making sure she was still following him. When they had gotten off campus the roles reversed and he began following her too the coffee shop.

It wasn't very a very long walk but it was sort of quiet and that was probably his fault. She was new and so he probably should have been the one to keep a conversation going. It's not like he didn't know how to when really it was quite the opposite. Fourteen years ago his dad got the break he needed and was promoted to a higher position in the company he was working out. Six years after that he quickly climbed the ladder and began second in command. A year after that the owner of the company died which meant it was now his to deal with. As soon as that happened Parker was always exposed to people in masses. He had learned when to speak and how to do so in certain situations. It helped him gain the skills of being a leader and keeping people calm, cool, collected and comfortable. In the situation he was in with Astrid, at this very moment, all those things went out the window. It wasn't like he had just forgotten everything he learned it was just that he that he was distracted once more. This time it was something better than just random nonsense. It was the fact that, now he was actually hanging out with her, he felt she was more than someone that he had met before. The way she walked and carried herself just felt natural to him like he had seen it all before. How silly to say but he couldn't help the feeling. Once she spoke up and cut the silence he looked over to her and responded, "I've been living in the same house my whole life." He was just about to ask where she had came from, like what state, but that was when they made it to the coffee shop. The two walked inside and up to the counter. Immediately Astrid ordered and then said that it was on her. He felt weird at the idea since he was always use to paying for things. In his head, he wasn't trying to be rude, but he was nearly sure that his bank account was ten times the size of hers. Parker would have been more than happy to pay but this girl seemed like she wouldn't take no for an answer. "Just an espresso for me, please." He looked over at her and smiled, "Next time the bills on me." Not only was this his way of saying thanks but also a tactic of letting her know that there would be a next time if she was willing.

For a few moments the two stood there waiting for there coffee until Astrid's name rang throughout the cafe. The two of them grabbed there drinks and then he followed her over to a set of chairs in the back corner. He took a seat and as he did he watched as she pulled up her legs to her chest. Now why did this action also feel so familiar to him. His mind was unraveling at the thought but he pushed it away when she asked him another question. "At the boarder of the city there's an area where you can go hiking. It's probably my favorite spot in his whole state." The place that he was talking about was dry mountain area that had trees that popped up here and there. If you went far enough in, at the edge, there was a ginormous rock that hung over the city. It was his favorite place to stop and think and boy was it a site to see. Sometimes, he would even go hunting but he decided to save that part for a different day. The last thing he needed was for this girl to go ballistic on him over the fact that he basically had a soft spot for taking out animals. It wasn't a sadistic hobby or anything, it was just something his dad had taught him at a young age. "Yeah, it's going to be at Jack's house. I was planning on heading over later tonight." He had known Jack all his life but they were never super close friends. Sort of more acquaintances than anything but no matter what they always told each other about one an others parties. At the end of his sentence he rewound her statement and he realized she was questioning he he was a coward once again. This girl sure did have a lot to learn about him. "I guess so." He thought about mentioning the fact that he felt the same way, about looking familiar not the destiny part, but he decided to save it. He was then going to say how he had traveled a lot in his past to many different states and countries and so maybe he saw her in her home town. Although, he felt like he would be flaunting his wealth. So he just stuck with his answer and finally took the first sip of his drink.

ooc: you're post was great. c: Also, his favorite spot is the equivalence or pride rock. d:

Everything was pretty comfortable. The coffee was good, conversation wasn't bad either, while it was still limited. Still, Astrid got to learn about what it is he liked to do and that there was indeed some place cool to go. While Astrid had previously lived in this town she was too little to really explore without much parental guidance. " I'd love to go there if you'd take me sometime. " It was a true statement, after all nothing beat a good hike into unchartered territory. Her blue eyes lit up when he said he was going to the party. Her red lips curled as she took another sip of her coffee, a certain mischievous glint illuminating her eyes. " You are, huh? Excellent, I'll be sure that we get into our fair share of shenanigans. " Trouble was after all, her speciality. Already on her first official day of being integrated in town she was late for school, cut class and smoked on school grounds all within a matter of hours. It almost seemed fated that she'd be traveling down the same path as her father was, jail bound and only eighteen. Some might say that it was a shame, but Astrid was comfortable with who she was and the things she did, though jail bound was not something she would call herself. The female tucked a piece of her black hair behind her ear and checked the time on her phone, her eyes widened. " Crap! It's getting late, walk me back home? " While she posed the question it came off a little more like a demand with that red stained smirk.

After getting her bag on slung over her shoulder once again she was out the door with Parker. It was strange how natural she felt next to him. " I hope you don't live too far from me, I'd feel a little bad, after all I dragged you out of class already and made you get coffee for me. " Her laugh came out a little airy and she worried if perhaps she was too forward, but she couldn't dwell on that too much because just as they were rounding the corner Astrid saw her mother screaming at her neighbors. " [********] " Astrid breathed and began to sprint towards the scene. Her mother Laurel, was a little off her rocker since her father had been sent to prison. Astrid knew more than anyone them moving back to the place that held their neighbors who were responsible for throwing the man in jail was a terrible idea, but nothing was convincing Laurel otherwise. Astrid went to her mother's side, putting a firm hand on her shoulder, her mother in turn whipped around, her look of complete wild fury softening. " Mom, we're leaving. " There was something about the glint in Astrid's eyes that made her mother agree with her. Astrid set eyes on the male figure before her. He looked strong, looked well presented which made something bubble within Astrid, hatred perhaps. It was odd finally setting eyes on the person that made everything happen. When Parker finally arrived, and the man addressed him, Astrid's eyes widened in disbelief. " You're… " she trailed off, her head shaking a little, there was no way. When the girl finally composed herself her lips were pursed, her eyes dead looking. " We'll be leaving now. " With that, Astrid was bringing her mother home without another word.

                                                  time skip

It was almost time for the party, the female tugged on her leather jacket. Astrid felt the anger begin to bubble up within her once again as she swiped on more lipstick. How could he be his son, how? Out of everyone why did he have to be his son. All of a sudden all the familiar pangs came back full throttle once his identity was put to him. The female left her room, and was on her way out the door, waving goodbyes and whispering to her sister for her to make sure their mother didn't get into anymore trouble tonight. Once she was sure everything would stay sound she was walking the streets once again, cloaked by the night in full out black, the only thing indicating her presence was the lit cherry in her cigarette which she smoked in full silence, her thoughts still plaguing her mind relentlessly. It was a bit of an inward battle. Should she be mad at him? After all it was his parents doing not his. He was just as little and probably just as in the dark about everything happening as she was. Astrid ran a hand through her hair in an agitated manner. Whatever. Right now all she wanted to do was not think, and when she got to the party she was sure to inhibit herself so much it would be impossible to think.

The music was unbelievably loud and she half wondered how well people in this little town would take it, but it didn't matter, Astrid was three shots and four beers deep, more than enough to make everything around her look like it was moving too fast for her to respond to. Her head was spinning and all she could focus on was trying not to stumble and bump into people, but when she was bumped into sure as s**t she stumbled and of course who did she have to stumble into? None other than Parker. Her brows furrowed. " You.. " the word was a little drawn out, her face was hot and her eyes could tell volumes on just how drunk she was. " You're his son, " the words came out slow and calculated as if she wasn't sure to say, or she was confused. The female stood there with the music blaring just staring at his face, an unsure look on her face. " I - I don't know whether to be mad, o - or not, " her sentence was littered with hiccups, then someone bumped into her and she was now clinging onto Parker's shoulders for leverage her eyes welling up with a few tears. " Why'd your dad do that to my dad? " A few tears fell, but she was wiping them up before anyone was getting the chance to do it. Once composed a little more she was shaking her head, taking another sip of beer. " Let's not talk about this tonight though. " Astrid looked up at him hoping he'd agree, still holding onto his shoulder. " I won't remember.. I won't remember, " she wasn't sure if she was trying to convince herself of that, or really believed that.

A wise king once told me,
"We are one."
I didn't know what that meant.
But now I do.

Now that they were actually sat down and in a comfortable position the conversation started to pick up a bit more. It slightly surprised him how much she was talking and how bold she was to ask so many questions. Really, it was quite impressive due to the fact that most people that were new to a school were mostly reserved. They'd stay silent until someone picked them out of the crowd to start up a conversation. With Astrid, it was the total opposite. She picked him and she was taking the lead. Parker actually enjoyed her company too. It was nice talking with a girl who was so different from the rest. In fact, she even claimed that she was willing to go hiking with him. How often did that happen? Most girls, at even the thought of dirt and enjoying the wilderness, would quickly stray away. "It's a long trail. I hope you're ready for it." This was his way of testing her limits and seeing if she would now back out. Did she really want to go or was she just trying to impress him? The two of them continued on about the party and he began smiling when she mentioned even the idea of shenanigans. Every time he went to a party he would hang around and just relax and go with the flow. Astrid seemed to have a complete different agenda. For all he knew she could mean that she was going to be the life of the party or the one to pull the party down with some serious trouble. Either way, "I'll hold you too that then," he was in. A small laugh made it's way past his lips as he took another sip of his espresso. The drink it self wasn't that great but right now he needed the coffee. This morning when he woke up he wanted nothing more than to go back to sleep. He assumed through out the day this hankering would change but it had only gotten worse. For some odd reason he didn't get the best sleep the night before.

They had been at the coffee shop for a few hours making small talk when she abruptly claimed that she needed to get home. Before he could even respond she was on her feet and ready to go. "Yeah, sure." Parker followed her as she headed through the doors and began walking down the street. He gently grabbed her arm and stopped her in tracks as she rambled. "It's not a problem especially when you have a car." At that point he let go of her and pulled out his keys from his pocket. He gave her a small smile before the two walked back to the school parking lot. Once they arrived they hopped in, he flipped the engine, and took the directions she gave him back to her house. It was really odd though, every turn they made was inches closer to his house. Was he subconsciously going back home; so use to going there after school? Apparently not because as he was parking on the street, as per usual since his parents got the driveway spot, she was already trying to hop out. One minute she was sitting beside him and then next she was hustling across the lawn. The boy was thoroughly confused at this point. So, Astrid gave him directions to his house and then began running away from him? Okay. Quickly he finished the parking job and as soon as he opened his door he could hear bickering coming from a few feet away. Immediately his head snapped over and he saw his dad, Astrid, and another woman in a small circle going back and forth. "What is going on?" In all of his years of living there he had never once seen his dad not getting along with someone. He was just a likable guy for the most part and that was probably where Parker got that trait from. With a small huff he stepped onto his property and over to where the bickering was taking place. As soon as he joined he got a better look at the woman that Astrid was holding back. Wow, it was his childhood friend's mother standing before him after all these years. When they had left it was so sudden, he didn't even have time to say goodbye to the girl that he played with almost everyday. "Parker, son, you remember Mrs. Maddox." Business and polite like always, even with him being loud just moments ago. "Yeah, right. It's nice to see you again." As he said that the woman grew even more snappy than she was before. Maybe she was having a bad day which was why she was picking a fight with his dad? He didn't know but that was when Astrid pulled her away and began walking off. Parker and his dad stood there watching as the two of them walked back over next door and inside together. His dad began walking away now and inside the house as Parker began putting two and two together. The reason why he had such a strong memory of Astrid was because she was the girl that lived next door when he was only four. He could now see the little girls face in hers.

                                time skip.

After everything that happened on the lawn Parker went inside and asked his dad when the Maddox' had gotten back. The two conversed about it for only a moment before the subject faded. Now, hours later, he was at Jackson's house for the party that he was telling Astrid about earlier. With everything that happened today he was wondering if she was still going to go. Now that he knew who she was he sort of had a small urge to hang out with her but he wasn't going to feed into it. That was the reason why he didn't go over and offer her a ride before he had left. Parker had been at the party for a solid hour, at least, and now he was talking to some girl that came up to him randomly. They were just making small talk when he suddenly felt someone bump right into him, pushing him in closer towards the girl and nearly spilling his beer on her. Quickly his head whipped around to see who it was and of course, none other than, Astrid Maddox. "Woah, you alright," assuming that she had just tripped under her own feet. He gave her a smile but it quickly diminished when he really looked at her and saw her state. She then said something about being someone's son and he was confused at first. He then realized that she was probably referring to earlier on the lawn. "Yeah, I'm Leo Morris' son." Obviously she was drunk but now she was starting to mumble and it was getting hard to understand her. She was now saying something about her own dad and other nonsense. He had absolutely no idea what she was talking about because they're families hadn't seen each other in the last fourteen years. When she stumbled again he looked down and nearly grabbed her waist to steady her further but refrained. She seemed fine once he felt her fingers press into him so he left it like that. When he met her eyes once more he watched a few tear escape and then quickly disappear when she wiped them away. At this point he knew he needed to get her outside so she could get some fresh air and gather herself. "Let's..." Before he could even get the statement in, someone popped up from behind and interrupted. "Parker, I need you on my team for beer pong!" Almost immediately he looked at him and then shook his head. "I can't. I'm busy. I'll play next game." The guy got the message but for the wrong reasons. To him it seemed like Parker was just hitting on some girl when really he was trying to make sure she was alright.

Parker had caught her no problem when she tripped, which was something her inner self was screaming thanks over. Astrid was a mess and she knew it all too well but it was fun. There was something exhilarating about feeling everything spin and not quite being able to grasp the things you were saying, or the things that you felt. It was strange but there was something comforting and fun about feeling slightly disconnected. The female leaned against Parker for balance and because it was just comfortable. He began to say something only to be interrupted by someone insisting that Parker should be on their team for beer pong. Immediately Astrid perked up. " No no no, play, it'll be fun. I'll play with you. We'll play! " Astrid was a party lover, a party fueler even. She was not about to let her own compromised drunken state from getting in the way of Parker having fun, besides the only thing she'd do outside was chain smoke and sober up anyway and it was much too young in the night for anyone to be sobering up. The female straightened herself up, regaining her own awkward footing and made her way to the table where beer pong was set up. " C'mon Parker don't be a chickeeenn. " Man, it was like her favorite thing ever to tease him about being scared.

One game of beer pong later Astrid was completely wasted, giggling at things as simple as the wiggling of her fingers. Needless to say she lost since her depth perception was already off. Her partner would have probably been mad at her had he not gotten wasted himself in the process. " That was fun wasn't it? " To Astrid, she was speaking clear as day, in reality her words were strung together and slurred. She was laughing at nothing really. Then she was intertwining her fingers and draping her arms around his neck as if it were the most natural thing for her to do, and instructed him to put his hands around her waist by guiding his hands there. Her blue eyes definitely betrayed her soberness, but that coy smirk was all hers, sober or drunk. The music was still pounding so loud she could feel it resonate in her chest, but it didn't really matter. Faces blurred around her, the music was just another thing blending in the background. Astrid began to sway a little back and forth, encouraging him to dance with her to whatever shitty house music song was filling the room. Yeah, she was having fun. The taste of beer on her tongue begged for a cigarette to wash it down but she ignored the craving because she was happy where she was. After about fifteen minutes of the same simple swaying, getting a little too close to Parker for comfort the girl goofily tried to dip him and ended up tripping and landing on top of him. Laughing wildly she helped him up and then finally spoke words she hoped were intelligible enough. " C'mon I need a cigarette. "

Once outside the girl lit up her american spirit after a few minutes of trying to focus on making sure the cherry of her cigarette and lighter aligned correctly before actually igniting it. After a few puffs, alternating her smoke exhales between her mouth and nose she gazed at parker through her beer goggles. " You really know how to party, I'm impressed. " Again her sentence was strung together too much, but it was getting easier to annunciate. They weren't outside for long but as the girl leaned against the wall puffing her cigarette she couldn't help but notice the more people were leaving as if they were dispersing in waves. Astrid peaked back in the house, there was still a good amount of people littering the room but the party was definitely thinning. " Looks like a lot of people are heading out, what time is it…? " The question trailed off as she struggled to take her cell phone out of her pocket, the illuminated screen read 2:30 am. " Christ.. " she breathed as she stomped out her cigarette. Her glossed over blue eyes hovered on Parker for a moment. " I have an idea. " Again with the lip curl.

Astrid lead Parker back to their houses, giggles quietly bursting out from her as she jogged home, quietly hissing for him to catch up. Once by her house she turned abruptly and pushed a finger to her lips. " Be quiet for a sec, but stay there, ok? " Just then she was rounding to the front of her house and opening the door, creeping in quietly. The whole house was pitch black and noiseless. It was great. She knew Oliver had work early the next day and her mother had some errands to run, as for her little sister, well, she wouldn't be a problem, even if she caught her in what she was about to do it wouldn't matter. Astrid crept her way into her room, turning on her one lamp and glancing at her appearance in the mirror. It was only in that instance of looking at herself in the mirror did she realize just how plastered she was. Her black hair was a little more tousled looking than usual and her lipstick was almost all smeared off, left on the cans and cups she had sipped her poisons from that night. The girl smiled at her reflection and then returned to her window. " Parker, " she hissed as she leaned out her window. When she had gotten his attention she grinned and waved him up. There was a decoration leaned against the side of her house that may as well have been an actual ladder. Astrid helped him up and in through the window when he finally moved from his resting place on the ground. She then shed her shoes, and jacket, tossing them on the floor and turned out the light, pulling the male into her bed. " I don't wanna do anything, let's just sleep together, in a non - pervy way. " Astrid wanted to make it clear that her intentions were not impure just yet before she snuggled her body against his own. The female moved her way towards him so her head was settled comfortably on his chest, her arm draped over him, burying them both under covers, the alcohol lulling her into a deep slumber.

A wise king once told me,
"We are one."
I didn't know what that meant.
But now I do.

Just as the guy was about to leave, and Parker was about to finish his sentence, Astrid changed his answer for him. She was suddenly insisting on them playing, both of them playing, which honestly made him a little bit nervous. Not for his sake of course, he was fine, because he had only had two beers so far. On top of that he knew his limits as were it was obvious that she didn't and so he was nervous about her part taking. If she was already drunk now then during her game she was screwed. Most people that started playing beer bong were sober for the most part and then gradually got tipsy after a few games. Astrid was already past tipsy and on her way to blackout drunk. Her aim would be awful and the amount that she would have to drink would speed up her trip down that path. At this point, she was going to have to heavily rely on her partner. At that thought he looked down at her and if she wouldn't have been so messed up already she probably would have noticed the worry in his eyes. "I'll see you around." Through everything, the girl that he was speaking to before Astrid walked up was still standing there watching the whole thing. As he walked past her he smiled, placed his beer down on the counter, and followed Astrid over to the tables. When he walked up and over to the opposite side of the table from her, and next to his partner, he heard her taunt him. The table was already set up and he was just given a ball. It was apparent that before they walked up the two that were already there shot to see who goes first. "You'll learn from experience, Maddox." Parker lifted the ball up, threw it, and landed it directly in the cup that was closest to her. He was a good shot which was probably from all the hunting that he did. "It takes a lot to scare me." He looked back up at her and then gave her smile. She was going to have to learn soon or later that he was a lot braver than she could possibly imagine. After a few turns back and forth he began loosening up and focusing on the game rather than Astrid.

Finally the game was over and he was feeling only buzzed thanks to Astrid's partner. Luckily, he was a pretty good aim and kept them in the game for so long. As where Astrid continuously took them down. She would constantly miss and when she did make it you could tell that it was a complete accident. It was understandable since she was totally gone but at the same time it had been frustrating for the guy she stood beside at the table. Parker was talking to his own partner for just a short moment about the game when Astrid suddenly came up interrupting him. This was the second time of the night but he didn't exactly mind, even more so because of her actions. "Yeah, to bad we kicked your guys asses." Of course he was only teasing her and now that he was a little buzzed he figured it wouldn't hurt to flirt back. It wasn't like he was making a move on her or anything. Her on the other hand was very touchy feel-y. Suddenly he was being dragged away from the tables and to the next room were they were before. Over his shoulder he could here, "Ay, man. I need you for the next game!" Usually, the winners would stay at the table and face their next victims but Parker obviously had better things to do. The guy had only glance him when he was making his way out and spoke to him. Now that he was done setting up the cups he realized that he was being lead away by Astrid and so he left it at that. Before he knew it he could feel her hands being wrapped around her neck and so he leaned back against the counter they stopped out. Apparently she didn't like that and so she grabbed his hands and placed them at her waist before returning her own hands back to his neck. At that he snaked his hands around her body and pulled her in a little closer. The two were in silence for a short moment until she started swaying back and forth. The music was blaring and they moved to the beat but after a while Astrid tried to twist him around and because he had no idea what she was doing they fell to the ground. He landed on his back and Astrid landed on him. He smiled when she began to laugh and then took her hand when she extended it too. After that she insisted that they go outside so she could smoke a cigarette.

The two walked outside and immediately he felt the cool air whip around him. With all the people inside he grew hot and so the temperature change was nice. "Thanks." He huffed out an inaudible laugh because really had been going to parties all of his life. When he was real young he was always invited to birthday parties, then when he got a little older he always had to go to his dad's business parties, and now as a teenager in high school he always went to house parties. You could definitely say that he was use to it by now. He stood there and watched as she lit the cigarette and inhaled deeply. Parker had tried one a long while ago but he didn't really like it and so the habit never stuck. Really, he just didn't understand the appeal but of course he would never knock someone down who did. His eyes followed down to her pocket as she pulled at her phone. He was just about to make it easier for her and get his when she finally managed to get it out. "Alright, shoot." She claimed to have an idea, so what was it? Instead of her answering him she began walking out towards the front and he followed. The further they walked from the house the more he realized that he should have grabbed his car. Yes, he was buzzed, and even though no matter what it isn't a good idea to drink and drive, he had done it before. It's not like he was planning on drinking so much any how. Before Astrid had found him at the party he only planned on having one more beer and then cutting himself off.

The two of them continued down the street and were now a few blocks away. He now realized that they weren't going on some random adventure but instead they were headed home. He had assumed at this point that she had forgotten that she claimed she 'had an idea' and tonight's fun was over. It was a real good thing that Jackson didn't live very far from them or this would of been one hell of a walk. When the two arrived infront of her house he was about to say goodnight and go to his own but that's when she had spoken up. "Okay." Maybe the fun wasn't over but that lead him to the question, 'what is she up too?' Patiently he stood there looking around him at his surroundings as he waited. Finally he heard a hissing noise and his head shot right up to Astrid on the second floor of the house. Suddenly she was waving at him to come up and his head grew full of thoughts. So, her idea was for them to go up to her room, late at night, and they had to be quiet. Were they about to have sex? Parker walked over to the wall and looked up once more hesitantly. He wanted to go up there but he was unsure if he should. It wasn't like he was virgin or anything but it was the fact that she was drunk and it just wouldn't feel right. Quickly he shook his head and began climbing up after her. She had never actually claimed that they would and he figured he could always leave if she tried anything. In a few short moments he was up and hoping through the window meeting Astrid in her room. Welp, his whole get in and get out method was totally out the window. Parker watched as she slowly began shedding her clothes and then leading him over to the bed. When they had fell down on to the mattress he nearly landed on top of her but luckily he turned at the last second. He was just about to get up and leave but her words changed his mind. "I've got you, now shh. Go to sleep." Once she was cuddled up to him he wrapped his arm around her waist with out even thinking. After a few short moments he felt her breathing slow down and knew that she had fallen asleep. A small smile formed on his lips as he leaned his head on hers, closed his eyes, and drifted off.
